Absolutely Delicious!! I had the Vegetable Biryani and my Mom had the Lamb Saag. You can tell that they utilize fresh ingredients and put a lot of Soul, Spice and Heart into their meals. My Mom, the Picky Polish Food Critic, loved the food! As for me, all the food sat very well with me and my digestive tract which was really important because I had my appendix removed around 2 months ago. Also, they have the most intricate, gorgeous paintings on the walls. Will be back when in the Evanston area!
Delicious food and friendly caring service. Highly recommend!
I came here first time few years ago. They're even better now. I really enjoyed their fast service and tasty food.
Really Great authentic Nepali food. All staffs are very welcoming. We will dine in the Mt. Everest Resturant while visiting Evanston.
Awesome food and outstanding service. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
I love this restaurant. The food is excellent and people with different diets can dine together, from vegan to carnivore. Service is polite and the ambience is beautiful.
Excellent food, service, and ambience! And a good value too. ☺️
Enormous fanatic of their chicken makhani, the best Ive attempted. Quite great naan delicate and smooth, and decent tikka masala. Generally moderate on the conveyance and somewhat costly yet they have rebate with the trump card. Continuously a decent decision if requesting some sustenance.
Was in a rush to make a standby, and staff went above and beyond to get me in and out. Kudos for caring. Chicken Alfredo had sooo much chicken, I couldn't finish the large dish and carried me through the rest of the trip. No, I didn't make the first standby option even though I reached the gate in plenty of time, but got the next one!

Traditionally a Nepalese joint but more famous for its Indian fare. Their sunday lunch buffet is pretty great. Really like their appetizers, particularly the samosas!
Food is good; best Indian food in area. Staff is also good and always attentive.
Tried there veg thali, butter chicken and butter naan on different occasions and they all are par expectation.
Big fan of their chicken makhani, the best Ive tried. Pretty good naan soft and smooth, and nice tikka masala. Usually slow on the delivery and a bit expensive but they have discount with the wildcard. Always a good choice if ordering some food.
I love this place. They have the best malai kofta and my favorite garlic naan. This place has some of the best Indian & Nepali flavors if you know the right things to order. They have an amazing vegetarian platter for two which gives you a good variety. Their paneer makhani and aloo toma bodi are a must have. I am also a big fan of their Dal tarka - yellow daal. I highly recommend starting the meal with some delicious samosas and ending it with their amazing gulab jamuns.
If you are indian you may not like this place too much, but if you are really craving Indian food - Mt. Everest is a good (but a little pricey) option in Evanston. Try the chicken makhani or the saag chicken (chicken with spinach) with garlic naan!
The food is amazing ! Especially for students who go to northwestern university and miss Indian food a lot, this is the place to go. The ambience is very apt and the service is commendable.
All Good Things Nepali. Had run the gambit of restaurants along the Devon Avenue stretch in Chicago, so I wanted to try something along the same lines yet different. Nepali. Mt. Everest Restaurant. Delicious. There could not have been a better choice: service, food, or price. Highly recommended if you are a fan of traditional Indian food.
Had a wonderful meal there with friends. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I highly recommend it.
Outstanding Nepalese food which is less spicy than most Indian. The goat was fabulous so was garlic naan! Ghost lamb (mild) in a cream sauce was very smoothe and tasty. A little weird to pay extra for rice, but whatever! Service good and very busy/ popular.
Try the Nepalese Food!. Although they have a good array of Indian food, their Nepalese food is even better.
Their Sunday Indian brunch is very good.
A few years back, I hosted a dinner in their private party room downstairs with all Nepalese food buffet, and it was outstanding.
Parking can be challenging in that area. There are some meters. It should be walkable from the El and Metra which is nice.
I feel like Mount Everest is a tad expensive, so I usually come for meals with my parents. The buffet is well-priced though, at around $10/person for all you can eat!
Located in downtown Evanston, Mt. Everest Restaurant has a storefront façade, but then becomes an expansive eatery once you go inside. Clean, courteous wait staff make sure you are thoroughly satisfied before you leave.
It is only appropriate that one month before I take off for Nepal that Erica and I meet old friends (the Hirsch's) for dinner at Mt. Everest restaurant in Evanston. I generally enjoy Indian food, though I have not had it in a while and from what I've hear
Staff was very friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Food is really delicious. Samosas are superb and the korma and kabob was outstanding. Overall great experience!
Staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and they had a fantastic and reasonably priced lunch special. I ordered the veggie special, which I’d recommend.
Staff was extremely friendly and personable. The food was incredible. I have never had Nepalese food before but I went with my Nepali friend and she said this is the best place she has tried in the area. Incredible portion sizes that are enough to share!

As a resident of Evanston for several years now, I’ve been to this restaurant many times. The food is south Asian ( Nepali and Indian ) but more “Americanized” ( read : a bit on the bland side of things )to suit the audience for the restaurant. But, it still manages to get the balance of spice and flavors for the most part. This time we had the momos, pakoras, tandoori roti and mutter paneer. Was a little bit disappointed that the paneer wasn’t as soft as it is usually. But otherwise, the food tasted good and service was quick too. I’ve been to their buffet lunch ( pre covid) on several occasions and it was a great value for money. They also have a 10% wildcard discount for northwestern students.
They also had a strange mixture of ceramic and plastic dinnerware , which wasn’t the case pre-covid. Not sure why. The paneer came out in a copper bowl, the rotis, momo and pakoras and all the dips came out in disposable plastic containers.
Walk into a dining room festooned with fancy bronze chandeliers accompanied by rosewood decor and the hostess and wait staff will greet and serve you with extreme politeness. The first dish to the table was Mount Everest biryani. Extraordinary flavor. The next dish to the table was a chickpea dish which was extremely tasty, but just a little too salty; I returned it and they offered to replace it multiple times, however by then I was stuffed and could not eat it. It was taken off the bill and we left extremely well fed and very happy. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food; the flavors are magnificent.
The food was delicious. I did miss that they don't serve coffee or tea cause I was cold and needed a warm up. But the place was great and I look forward to visiting them again.
Amazing lunch platter! We came in as a group and I ordered a lunch platter with chicken vindaloo and aloo gobhi. With rice, a piece of tandoori chicken, and naan (recommend upgrading to garlic naan), the meal was very well rounded and enjoyable. The Mango Lassi also helped a lot to ease the spiciness, a wonderful drink to order! As an American, this is definitely a solid South Asian restaurant!
