My party got Totchos with pulled pork (based on a recommendation), rib rack, mac & cheese, and beef brisket plate. We really liked the Totchos - especially the tater tots! The brisket is good but chewy in my opinion. It was really soft and would break when poked by the fork! 5 oz was small for a party of four; I guess we should have gotten two orders. The ribs were falling off the bone. It was great. The mac & cheese could be better. It did seem like it was just heated up and given to us since the cheese wasn't gooey at any point in time.

Had the beef brisket... it was good but a little fatty. Sauce was good, too. BBQ in general is over priced. Thanks for reply, but that's outrageous... $48 for a little meat and 2 sides.

Went there because of a referral. Very glad we did. We had Smoked Chicken Wings, Tator Tots with Smoked Brisket and Fries. Everything was delicious and the table server was efficient and had an awesome personality, not found often in youth. Just as we were finishing up, the musical group called Bluegrass 1948 started playing. Haven't been to a live concert in years. We had to leave, but what we heard was fantastic đź‘Ź.

I love the atmosphere at Way Station! It’s casual but the staff are super attentive and friendly. You can bring your dog or kids and sit outside in a communal atmosphere and listen to live music. I love that you can come with a group and always find seating due to the picnic tables. They have great, local rotating taps as well.

The food is incredible, fresh and made from scratch. The food is top quality and everything I have eaten there is DELISH! Staff is so friendly and accommodating and make you feel like you are the most important guest there. Best BBQ around and definitely try the mac and cheese and the loaded tots!

From the rotating beer list, to the stellar food, great service and amazing outdoor beer garden, Way Station is a Fairfax must hit. Lots of live music, a couple fire pits for chilly nights, pet friendly, and a perfect pit stop for bikers. A local fave!

Just an awesome place overall! Great ribs, incredible rotating beer selection, and great layout for enjoying both of the aforementioned. Give them a try, if you haven’t already!

The Way Station makes great use of a former empty lot; a spot for all ages to hang out, from kids to cyclists. I’ve tasted almost all of their offerings and haven’t been disappointed. I love supporting local independent restaurants.

Great BBQ and beer. Lots of fenced outdoor seating and fire pit and heat warmers. I'm stopping here after my next hike or bike ride in West Marin. Yum!

It’s good. Really nice outside area with shade. Sometimes music. BBQ food—try the brisket. Range of beers—too few non-IPA choices for this IPA non-fan but I had a good Kolsch today

Ridiculous ribs! My new amazing place to have a mini Wednesday night vacation. I was craving a "viking style" meat off the bone night. The Waystation was the most incredible spot just for that... I left the city at 4:54pm (rush hour) and had a beer in my hand by 5:27. A super relaxing spot to have a great down to earth conversation with a like-minded stranger. I made an order to go and was back at my house by 7:28. I devoured the ribs and now contemplating getting back in the car to get more... I will not make the mistake again. Need to ORDER THE FULL RACK! Wow!!! My wife loved the BBQ chicken salad and the kids inhaled the pulled pork sandwich. Bread pudding is my weakness... Thanks Max Hill. Legendary!

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had - great indoor/outdoor vibe, right at the gateway to West Marin, biking, hiking and an amazing selection of beers on tap!

I love Brian and the crew at The Way Station! The menu has some serious hits (love the Hot Mess) and the beer selection is plentiful. The vibe is exactly The Way I like it....discreetly warm and friendly. Ironically enough, I'm brand new to Marin and The Way Station was the only place (I found) in Fairfax open on New Year's Day. My first visit, and by the time I got there they were out of almost everything. The place was fairly quiet, only a couple of families in the back enjoying some time out of the house with their young kids: rowdy but cheerful. The food (my first Hot Mess!) was, of course, delicious and I was very happy to have a relatively quiet place to enjoy some good food and watch a little football. At some point, though, the kids started to get rowdier and their parents didn't seem to notice. As the volume went up, I appreciated the staff's attempt to communicate with the adults, but they sure didn't seem to appreciate anyone suggesting they were out of line and left in a huff. For my $.02, having bussed and waited tables, I thought Brian, and his staff, couldn't have been nicer (or more discreet) about the whole thing. #aspiringregular
