This place is brand new, but definitely worth checking out! You can create your own bowl with rice and/or greens and there are plenty of toppings from which to choose. The quality of food is excellent and variety is great. I particularly like the dressing/sauce options.
I attended the Grand Opening, but I'm looking forward to going back as a regular. There are also great sandwich options if you're just looking for soup and a sammie. The veggie sandwich had eggplant and was quite good. I'm not a vegetarian, but I can see that being my sandwich of choice.
Side note: I'm not a coffee drinker, but there's a big selection there if you are.
Overall - great quality food, good portions, and a great value (a bowl will cost you around $9 depending on your meat choices).
UPDATE: All the soups are outstanding, and the Egg and Salmon sandwich for breakfast is excellent!

A University owned Bistro, it features foods from various countries around the world. Global Bistro features Illy coffee, my favorite, and breakfast and lunch menus on the bottom floor of its building on Route 29 in Fairfax County, across the street from Wegman's. I enjoyed a scrambled egg sandwich with smoked salmon and provolone cheese on ciabatta bread. Delicious! And for $4, a real bargain. There were several sandwiches and salads to choose from. My sense is that Global Bistro will only get better in the days to come, and its already a great breakfast and lunch spot in its first two weeks. Periodically, Global Bistro features foods from a different country, such as, Italy, Mexico, Korea, Japan, Turkey, et al. It is extremely friendly, simple in decor, and a place I plan to visit over and over again in the future. Ask for a coffee card; ten coffee purchases and the next on is free. Try it; you'll like it.
No, I don't work for Virginia International University or Global Bistro, nor do I know anyone who works for either, except those I met for the first time on my visit.

A new Syrian restaurant that’s located in the heart of Fairfax city. They have the best chicken shawarma in the entire area. Their fattouch has real pomegranate seeds and their halawet aljeben is very yummy.The restaurant is very clean very spacious. You can order from them as well through Uber Eats if you want. You can host a gathering there or throw a party for your loved ones.

This Outstanding Syrian Restorant is the only Syrian one in the area. It serves incredibly delicious food. Their fresh Shawarma sandwiches has no competitor in America, and everything we ordered was just perfect. They serve the best Kunafa that you may ever try, ask them about the “Halawa Humsyah” it is a piece of heaven. And the team are very nice and friendly team.
We organized a large event with about 100 people, and this place perfectly managed providing an open buffet with amazing options.
