We had a nice dinner and had fun looking at all the items in the store, lots of imported candy, chips, bread and grocery items. We had the chicken nachos and the tres leche cake for dessert. Everything was very good and service was excellent. We weren’t real sure when we walked in because it look like a converted grocery store with restaurant seating on the front side and groceries in the back half. The service was quick and friendly. It’s not fancy but good food, fun shopping and friendly people (Lula and Javi).
The Adventure Continues. Purple Haze and SBT went for a day ride up the Coastline to Fernandina Beach. It was a hot day and it was time to grab a meal. Tacos are a favorite to the both of us. Saw the reviews and rating, so we put it to the test. Amazing. I got the Special for Wednesday and it was incredible, light and filling. Haze got the Loaded Nachos (chicken) and finished the whole thing. We even got chips and queso. Haze is very particular about his queso but couldn't stop talking about it. OMG, if I could I would give more than 5 stars. You do not want to miss this incredible Mexican food with these very nice people. Don’t hesitate but just go eat here!
We ordered to go yesterday. It was Wednesday so we had the enchiladas and the steak fajitas, both for the first time. Excellent. The rice is a bit bland for our taste but we put their fantastic green salsa on it and wow, what a difference. We usually order tacos so these dishes were a nice surprise. Also got the asada tacos, with avocado. What a bargain for 4 bucks each. We have been coming here since they were down the street in the little store and will keep coming back.
Visited La Sureña for the first time based on a local friend's referral and found a great neighborhood spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. On the day I stopped by for lunch I had the Chicken Flautas (Mex style) special. It looked great and tasted even better. The range of textures and flavors were distinct and amazing for a seemingly simple dish. I look forward to visiting soon and trying more menu items.
Had their Friday only Mojarra Frits ( whole fried fish). It came with a simple salad, rice, and steamed corn tortillas. Add some of their hot sauce and you have yourself a meal. Loved it. Reminds me of the meals I grew up with in San Antonio. Yummy there tamales, tacos, everything is delicious.
We've been here twice now and have decided it's our go-to spot for Mexican (or Honduran). Every time the food has been amazing--flavorful and fresh and homemade-tasting. Eaten lots of tacos, gorditas, enchiladas... The whole vibe is authentic street food, so keep your expectations down on ambience, drinks, or availability (they seem to sell out of certain favorites early) but the food is the best!!
Really delicious! Easy to choose something to order for each person in our family here. Everything tasted so fresh. Not a single complaint. So spacious inside too. Will eat here again!
Best authentic Latin food, I had in a long time. Great staff. Great music. Even watched a Barcelona game.
😀
I came to this place as it was the only Mexican restaurant in town. I had the chicken crispy tacos & let me tell.... wow, they were crispy, hot, just made, fresh vegetables on top, salsas were also on point, will recommend the red one. Have to say that this restaurant offers authentic Mexican food!!! Muy buen trabajo!!!
