Very nice sit down Mexican in the village with limited street parking. Had lunch on a weekday in late September for three, no waiting. Friendly service, nice high ceiling space, latin music, cloth napkins, large plates and nice food, with a few defects.
Chips and salsa provided promptly and ordered
Comfortable little spot on the main street in historic Ferndale. There aren't many choices for a little sit down respite when you come to stroll this quaint town so this one works. I like the couches. Live usic was being set up as we were leaving. That would have been fun. I'm guessing it's a nice
Super tasty Mexican food. Really enjoyed my tamales and everyone else liked their food. Took some flan home for later, it was delicious. Nice place with cool art. Service was quick and sweet. We'll be back!
Visited Tuyas for the first time while visiting Ferndale. Comfortable, inviting atmosphere. Friendly, competent staff. We ordered the chicken and mole, sopes and fish tacos. The food arrived pretty quickly after ordering, even though they were quite busy. The food was presented well on the plate and
We were looking for a lunch restaurant that had some healthy choices and I'm so glad that we stopped here. They have you chips and homemade salsa once you're seated. We ordered beer and a mango margarita. The margarita came in a pint glass which was a pleasant surprise. The shrimp ceviche came w
Good fooand service. The chimachuga was delicious.
Delicious! I love fancy Mexican food! Excellent, crisp, fresh. Chips are thick cut. Prices are reasonable for the quality -- I would expected the prices to be higher oddly. Fish tacos have a nice smoke flavor. Green verde sauce is killer -- super duper good. No full bar -- wine / beer only.
Great spot with quality ingredients. Appetizers might not be the best bet but the entrees are really good. Beans and rice are very tasty. I always order the green enchiladas w chicken. The diabla shrimp might be too spicy for some people. Corn tortillas are excellent. They have some outdoor seating.
We ate outside. Today was Beautiful and Sunny. Service was fast and friendly. Our food came quickly and was delicious. I almost didn't get any photos because it was devoured just as fast as it was served.
We stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday. The food is excellent, way more than you may expect from a Mexican restaurant in a little town. And it is very reasonably priced. The service and ambience are also great. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. Ferndale is by itself a great desti
An enjoyable delicious lunch. We met the gracious owner “Glory” (says her parents were hippies), who stopped by our table to ask how we were enjoying our lunch.
La Cantina es Tuyas … Ferndale, California .. Mole..fresh, clean just the right amount of spice, definitely not overwhelming, lite kick at the end, very nice… high quality meats fantastically flavorful and lean… I looked forward every bite… combo meat quesadilla upon request, not on the menu… thank
Four of us dined here for dinner and we all got a different dish and each one was delicious! I would definitely recommend the nachos and fish tacos in particular. We loved the freshly made tortilla chips and salsa. The service was fantastic and we were well taken care of. I would definitely come he
The food was great. We had the fish(cod tacos). I had the corn tortillas made with fresh masa. My wife had the fish tacos as well with the flour tortillas. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I only wish they had low tables for us with bad backs and knees. I also w
Tuyas is now Tuyas the restaurant in its original location, and Tuyas Sports Bar . The sports bar is to the left, where a bakery? used to be.
Tuyas was "full" when we arrived. We than ate in the Sports Bar. The Sports Bar doesn't have a bathroom, when I went into the restaurant to use the bathroom
Exquisite food. They have outdoor seating so we were able to dine there with our dogs. Definitely worth going out of your way to check out.
Large portions, upscale Mexican with excellent woman cook.
Calamari appetizer was large pieces, quesadilla was huge as was chimichang and asada burrito. All 4 of us thoyght their food was very good.
They make their own horchata.
Would return and sit on cantina side.
Tuyas is two old stores.
