The chicken and the shrimp in the Our Noodle Dish were excellent, and the vegetables were also great.
The sushi rolls are massive, fresh and wonderful.
The food is very good, the service was also good, a little slow but it was good. It tends to be pretty loud here, but it is a vibe for sure. We were there for almost 2 hours to eat dinner at 3 pm, so be prepared for a long time at dinner. It’s worth it, just be ready for it
Wow! What an awesome place. A beautiful, fun piece of Hawaii right on the Oregon Coast!
We didn't have dinner, but sat at the bar watching all the dinners go out of the kitchen and they all looked wonderful! We had drinks and desserts and they were all WONDERFUL! Fun tropical drinks. An amazing slice of heaven for dessert!
The service was very friendly - this place is truly ALOHA!!
I think I'm in love. I found myself at the Pono Hukilau quite by accident. I wanted sushi in Florence, Oregon and this was the closest of many restaurants offering seafood. I was the first customer when they opened their doors. I was greeted with a smile and asked whether I wanted indoor or outdoor seating. Right away, the Hawaiian vibe put me in a relaxed mood. My server, Hannah, was just the right amount of attentive. I told her I was not in a hurry and ordered myself a fish taco while browsing Google photos for my main course. The taco was an explosion of flavor. I had to rely on my servers recommendation because there were just too many beautiful menu choices to make a decision. She recommended the spicy are you roll it might be the best one I've ever had. Their dishes are works of art for the eyes and taste buds. The sushi chefs clearly treat their craft as such. If I'm ever back this way, I will make it a point to return for some epic seafood creations.
The Noodle dish was amazing! Also the Peanut mango chicken had incredible flavor. The clam chowder was way too salty this time but is normally great. Can’t get enough of their delicious unique food and wonderful service!
Stopped in on a Friday night at 6pm right before closing time. Waited in a small line for about 15 minutes before we were seated outside at our request. I ordered the peanut mango chicken. It was very very good. A combination I had not had before and am glad I was able to try it. Prices are a bit high but the quantity of food makes up for it. 2 dollar service fee for card payments. Worth stopping in and trying if you have a bit of time to kill in Florence .
They gave me free treat of tahi&marinated cucumber! That's not cheap fish!
I came alone, was sitting at the bar right next to window, there was line outside, very busy, idk how workers managing in such small kitchen area :( I gave them good tip, but they deserve much more! YOU ROCK, Hukilau STAFF! MAHALO!
Go with someone you wanna spend time with because the wait will be long but the food is amazing. We joke that they are spending all the time back there setting each piece of the with exacting perfection. I would say this is the best food I know of and I like food of all kinds. Nothing beats the food at this place. Vacation burger and add mushrooms egg and grilled onions.
Second to none! Atmosphere and culture match the high quality food. A great experiential restaurant choice for residents and tourists alike. Wonderful owners and the leadership and support for the team is noticeable. I'm still salivating from our meal choices and it's be a couple of weeks :). Generous meal portions too. Mahalo Pono Hukilau!
Exceptional food but very long wait. We enjoyed everything we ordered from the house fried rice (not too spicy for a toddler), Maui Wowie rolls, Unagi nigiri and Vietnamese salad of the day (ground pork, cilantro, avocado, lychee - packed with flavor!). However we had to wait over an hour to get our rolls. We still decided to stay for dessert and enjoyed the house made guava cheesecake. Staff was very friendly too.
We've been here a couple times now - the service is amazing, the owners are extremely friendly, and the food is phenomenal. Definitely a must visit if you're looking Asian / Hawaiian inspired food in a laid back setting while in Florence.
There isn't much parking in front, but plenty of street parking on the street behind the restaurant, just try to be courteous and not park in the spaces for the hotel next door.
My dad basically lives here and I can see why! The service food and overall experience is just wonderful. They are very clean welcoming. I’m pregnant and they go out of their way to accommodate my weird cravings. I can’t say enough good things. Blaze the bartender and Cynthia our server kept our drinks and belly’s full ♥️
You need to be patient if you try to walk in on the weekends. We got there at 5pm on a Saturday and probably stood in line for 25 mins. That said, the food was worth it. Make sure to try their spam Misubi's!
We stopped in here on a road trip not knowing what to expect. This was hands down the best sushi we have ever had!!! The waitress was great, the frozen drink was delicious and we can not wait to come back through Florence so we can eat here again!
Great place for food, drinks and family. Our sushi orders were large and delicious. Fun decorations and an open kitchen so you know it's clean and fresh. Only ten tables but you can sit at the long sushi bar and watch it all happen. We'll staffed so it all went fast and smoothly. Thank you.
Touring the Oregon Coast from North to South and stopped in Florence to stay the night. Stopped by Pono Hukau. First I would give this place six out of five stars if it was an option. We had three drinks. Jungle Fruit Margarita, Classic Mai Tai and Aloha Mojito. All three drinks were phenomenal. I had the pineapple teriyaki and two sushi rolls. The food on-point and truly amazing.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made solid recommendations. We sat at the bar, enjoyed gray music and even better conversation.
We enjoyed it so much that we are stopping by before leaving town tomorrow for our drive to Brookings and then onto Bend.
My only regret was not getting pictures of the drinks and the food before we started. Here are some partial pictures of our sushi rolls and teriyaki chicken.
Definitely stop by and enjoy amazing food, great drinks and an amazing atmosphere.
The cocktails and food were great. Service not so good though, at the end we were being taken care of by another server who checked on us because our server forgot about us.
Overall, it was a good place, maybe needs more organization with protocol.
Awesome food, fun atmosphere. This is a must!! They serve everything. I felt like I was back in Florida. The service was great and food was so delicious. They brought us this free appetizer of veggies. My husband doesn't like to many veggies, but he couldn't get enough of these. The dressing they had on it rocked!! This place is highly recommended. A hidden gem on 101 in Florence.
Delicious good food. Expect a wait for seating and for food to come. Not the best vegetarian selection but good seafood and sushi.

The BEST sushi rolls I have ever had in my life, hands down. Everything I have observed coming out of the kitchen looks fantastic. I have made it my mission to try evry single item available
