Great place to eat something different. You get to cook your own food. Different choices you can make a seafood, chicken or beef soup. Like this place.
Excellent experience! First time in a long day that I had went for hot pot and it was much desired! I ordered the lamb meat and tried the curry Roth for the first time and really enjoyed it! The curry flavored was not too empowering and has a hint of sweetness. I would definitely recommend. It was a very satisfying meal. The staff was also extremely kind and welcoming! They all said goodbye and gave us new year wishes as we left!
Love their buffet dinner, HOT POT and Sushi!! But recently seems like they hired a new sushi chef, he's not that good compare to the previous one! But can't complaint, for a very affordable price for dinner buffet compare to others. Been there over 10+ times will go again soon!
Went again tonight! They finally hire a new sushi chef!!!! This time the sushi taste sooo much better!
Great place to eat, friendly atmosphere! Only problem is the language barrier and lack of communication. We had a party of 4 and they only allowed us to use two cards. It wouldn't have been a problem but being told before hand would have been nice. Also they took both customer and signed receipts leaving us with no receipts at all until we asked for one. I will come again! Now that I know a few new things before coming here, I'll definitely enjoy it even more!
It's quite an experience, everyone should try it with their family or friends! I love the fact that you could season your own broth with chopped garlic, hot sauce, parsley and many more ingredients. I usually throw in all the ingredients at once and watch it simmer!
Easy and convenient for personal hot pot. It lost a star for not fully advertising what they offer for free like herbal tea. Not a all you can eat . However, the service is friendly.
Hot pot appears to be a bit of a fad around here. It's nothing new to me as this is what my extended family did when we had big family gatherings over at the house in Penang, back in the old country. Over there, we called it "steamboat". In any case, if you're entertained by the idea of cooking your own food, as I am, on occasion, then this is a good place to go. Otherwise, maybe it's better to go somewhere else where someone does the cooking for you.
Such nice folks who were patient with "newbies". My beau and I had fun eating in this family style environment. Such fresh food many options and plenty of space. Would definitely go again when back in queens.
Love the food here. Price seems reasonable and fast service.
Shabu Shabu or hotpot for the uninitiated is a pot of boiling broth that you add vegetables and other item to. Then you take thin strips of meat and swish (shabu) them a few times until they are cooked. You can then create a sauce to dip the meat in and then eat. When you are done, you are left with a delicious soup.
I first tried shabu on a trip to Hollywood. We had it with kobe beef which was just amazing. Friends turned us on to Minis a few years ago and while there is no kobe beef on the menu, it is really excellent.
Every spot at the table has there own individual pot. You can specify the type of broth you want. I always opt for the spicy. You then customize it by adding what you like. Fish balls, yes, garlic? yes, lots. Don't like sprouts, don't put them in.
Great place to go with a few friends. It is a lot of fun, food is very good and it is not expensive.
It is ALWAYS busy, and when it is hopping, an hour wait is not out of the question. If you don't want to wait, try soup dumplings at Joes Shanghai just around the block or Nans on Prince St.
The second decent JiaJiangmeun (noodles in black bean) house i know of. The flavors are okay and they're cooked better than average in comparison to its competition! The only complaint is outside their aforementioned meun, champpong (noodles in chop suey sauce) nothing else stands out. The huge negative to this place is that Parking is impossible to find and the portions are pretty small in comparison to its other competition. It hits the level of "satisfied" but a hair away from "damn that's some good eating " so ordering a side dish or group appetizer is advised.
Minni's is a comfortable Shabu Shabu place. It terms of presentation it looks good, and tastes good. My only quip is that one serving is never enough to fill me up. At which point if I want more, obviously I will have to pay more, then I feel like I paid too much.
Very yummy shabu shabu when i mix all sauces into my pot. I always take Land and Sea because that made perfect flavor in soup. I also love their rainbow ice for dessert.
I like the environment and the food. The meat is good and the condiments "table" is really great. I go here once a month or so....
I have been going there for years - Love their hot pot! I'm so upset they closed!!! Please update us if you have moved to a new location!!
