We had a really special night in this intimate spot. I can definitely see this restaurant being a great restaurant to become a regular. Everything is very sourced and high quality. The delicate portions were perfect for us. Service was just enough but not too intrusive. Minimal look on the sushi counter. Very recommended to order a few dishes at a time and just enjoy slowly.
We went for early bird omakase which is $58. It comes with one appetizer and eight piece of Nigiri sushi. Sushi was good but the sushi rice was bit small for me. The portion was not enough for me so I had to order some more roll and nigiri. Food quality is all good but the price is a little bit high. We paid $130 per person.
Went here for Valentine's Day and did their omakase. It was an amazing experience, with so many selections given to us during the night. the kumomoto oyster, the tatare, foie Gras.. the servers were on point with beverages too. a decent sake list as well! all in all, it was worth coming here!
I've always wanted to try Omakase. It's the type of meal where you leave everything up to the chef. Most restaurants that offer this type of service are situated in Manhattan, but I found a hidden gem right in Flushing to take my wife out to.
The restaurant is located underground, when you enter, you have to go downstairs. When we got there, we were the only ones there, but a reservation could be handy, just in case.
Between the omakase offerings, there were three tiers. I picked the top tier one, wanting to make most out of the experience. My wife and I also opted in for the sake tasting add on.
Slowly, one by one, the chef gave us our order. From appetizer, to sushi, soup, and dessert. The experience of sitting at a sushi bar and witnessing the sushi come to life from start to finish was truly something else.
Eating here gets really expensive, so prepare yourself. There is a low tier omakase that they offer, but only if you're there early.
Overall average
The rice to me too much Vinegar, fishes very fresh. I don’t like the EEl Don.
Don mini size.
We were pleasantly surprised by this Japanese tapas shop in Flushing. To be honest we didn't have too high expectations. We were just seeking for some sushi and it was cold outside.
Oh my god we were blown away by the effort the chefs made. Many fresh fish presented in artistic and chic manner. They are definitely going for some degree of fusion tapas bar and we downed a bottle of expensive sake.
Not cheap. But definitely we left having had a great time. I guess similar presentation can be much more expensive in Manhattan and some of the non-mainstream chef's efforts have rough edges. But this was definitely a 5 star experience. We'll return.
Hidden in the basement, this place is a tiny cozy Japanese restaurant. Their menu is limited - mainly serving high end sushi and sake.
Quality is fresh with prices to match. Portion sizes are on the smaller side. Service was attentive and friendly.
Overall, it was a good experience.
Delicious with friendly service! It’s really comfortable and the atmosphere was really nice in there! I would totally come back here.
This place in down in the basement but has a very nice atmosphere. We had the omakase at the sushi bar and the experience was amazing. Definitely worth a try.
The food & sake are sooo good and the staff are so nice they even suggested better options for our group. 😊👍
Good real japanese fresh food and reasonable price. Highly recommend.
Great experience: food is delicious & refined, serving is very elegant. Sake & wine selection is very good too. Stuff is very friendly and welcoming.
We made an appointment via email a few weeks prior since we wanted to make sure we could bring our kids (2 years old and 8 month baby) normally omesake doesn’t allowed kids . They were super accommodating and allowed us to sit at the bar ! Waitress was very sweet and friendly. Overall we were impressed by the appetizers course part of the omesake . Majority of the sushi were good. Some were average but I would still recommend this place overall. We will be back next time we visit nyc !
Had the $98 Omakase and was blown away by the quality despite it being Non-Japanese owned and operated.
We ate everything! The sushi quality is so good and I’m so happy we found this underground gem.
