We absolutely love the special times we go to Rare. Sit at the community table and order the chefs tasting menu with wine pairings. It’s divine. We have done it twice and both times knocked our socks off. Zach did our tasting last night and did a great job. He was very knowledgeable about the food and cheese and paired the wine very well. We had the gnocchi, pear crostini, arancini, their house made cheese and olives, bone in ribeye with the wine reduction, and fried ganache for dessert. It is unbelievably delicious. Every. Single. Bite.

Had the lobster risotto last night and it was suburb from the aroma the moment it was placed in front of me until every burst of flavor to the last bite. My favorite place to treat myself to a wonderful meal and warm welcomes from the staff.

Incredibly pleased with RARE! From the food to the staff, it is a pleasure every time! The manager always checks in throughout the meal to ensure we are happy, and the waitstaff are friendly and attentive! Their happy hour is killer too, I always get the burger and fries and it is consistently one of the best burgers in Old Town! Highly recommended!

Rare is a fantastic addition to Old Town, Fort Collins! The restaurant itself is beautiful with a contemporary feel mixed with traditional bricked walls. The food is incredible! Their pizza has the quality and authenticity of pizza right out of a brick oven in Florence, Italy. After trying their Dry-Aged Rib Eye I will not go anywhere else! Pasta tastes extremely fresh and must be house made! The happy hour is killer and Sundays are half of wine bottles, even the good ones!! I recommend you end the night with a house Limoncello!

I am from Kansas City MO area and felt like I have eaten great rib eye steak dinners before. No. wrong. The steak dinner at rare was great! I am sure it will be hard to match. Great staff, food priced fair, and worth every penny.

Excellent restaurant. We stumbled on this while visiting our daughter at USC. Great appetizers, excellent aged steak, good wine list, good service. One, very minor, nit: the booths are much too narrow. We are normal sized people and were uncomfortable during the entire meal. But we will return...... and sit at a table.....

Met a friend here for dinner last night as neither of us had ever been since we're new to the area. When I walked in the staff was professional and friendly and the decor was fantastic. We started off with a beer for me and a cocktail for her - she loved her cocktail and I enjoyed my Odell IPA. We had the Burrata as an appetizer and were both very pleased with it. The grilled peaches and prosciutto were as amazing as the cheese. For the main course we split an order of Chili-glazed Brussels Sprouts, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and Wagyu ribeye. Firstly, the brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had - even if you don't like Brussel sprouts you need to try these. I normally don't order steaks at restaurants but I couldn't turn down Wagyu so we went for it - I couldn't have asked for it to be a better cut or grilled any better. It was perfect! The bolognese was amazing and was very much like authentic bolognese which is hard to find. Needless to say, we both are sure to go back. This is authentic Italian, having just moved from the northeast it was great to find this place. The prices and proportions were great and the food and service was impeccable. Definitely a must for any food lover.

This restaurant provides very scrumptious food and tasty wine. My friends and I went there for dinner during the Great Plates Special event in Fort Collins Old Town. It was great everything was on a Special deal. And we were able to try lots of food at their restaurant. That night the restaurant was full and we had a reservation. If you want to go there, please make a reservation ahead of time. I think their price was a little high but everything costs more nowadays. The service was very high class in my opinion. It was a great experience.

We went there to celebrate and it was a great choice! One of the best real Italian deal we've found so far in the area. Sunday late lunch ambience was chilled and happy yet high end. The tomato sauce tasted very fresh and light, the hand cut pasta was al dente as it should be, and the steak was perfection, cooked exactly how we asked for. The cherry on top was the hazelnut pie with a scoop of dark chocolate gelato! Delicious! The place is pricey but totally worth it.

Pleasant experience. Service wasn't exactly matching the price point, however the food was superb and the wine selection was varied. Open kitchen concept, outdoor and bar seating.

This is one of my favorite restraunts. I make it a priority to go here whenever I visit Fort Collins. All of their pasta is made fresh, in house. They age their meat in for at least 28 days. I highly recommend the ribeye, lasagna and ragu. A fantastic wine selection and excellent service.

Always a great experience! Highly recommend their choice charcuterie board (their burrata is a MUST!) and the New York strip. They’ve modified their menu a bit recently & I’d say it’s more family friendly/Italian American food than the previous traditional Italian style.

I used to visit this place frequently, sometimes for a date night or with a group, and usually I leave very satisfied and end up spending 200$+. Usually I get excellent service from servers there. But not yesterday, which was valentines day. I used to always reserve a table, and for the first time me and my girlfriend showed up on short notice, and sat at the bar, where bartender called William served us, and that’s when the problems began. William was very sarcastic and passive aggressive. First jokingly made fun of the way Wanted my whiskey sour made, kept cutting me off when I was trying to order for my girlfriend. I was already uncomfortable then because he kept creating tension when I was trying to enjoy a My girlfriends company during a special night. I was making conversation with him, and we figured that he used to work at the Bar whiskey as a manager, and I asked why he left to make conversation, because the whiskey is one of my favorite places in town. In a very aggressive and rude tone, He replied, “First of all, It’s non of your business what other people do with their jobs and their money”. This made me and my girlfriend very uncomfortable, he was acting as a very tough guy and passive aggressively was trying to create tension. I proceeded to ask for a check so we could leave, at which point he started apologizing, because he probably didn’t want anyone to find out, especially the management. Nevertheless, even though the food was great, our whole night got ruined because of Williams horrible customer service skills. Update: the owner reached out, assured me that he takes these type of experiences to the heart. They offered us dinner, which we accepted, but we were not feeling well so we got take out instead. Food was good!! I appreciate Steve reaching out and making sure we are taken care of and the restaurant make up for it, even though it wasn’t his fault.

Wonderful experience!! We weren't planning on going to Fort Collins but it was the best night of the trip because of this restaurant. We asked locals for recommendations and everyone said Rare! Great wine list and lots of options for food. I got the seafood risotto and my fiancé got the big steak and potato meal. The service was superior. We would recommend to anyone who wants either an expensive dinner or low-key affordable meal night out.

Asked our hotel front desk for the best Italian joint in town. Pointed us towards RARE! They did not disappoint! Steak was cooked perfectly to the order, service was prompt and timed correctly. Wish I could know what they put in their ceasar dressing as well! Had this awesome spice to it! Recommend highly!
