If you get a chance to meet Lenore Gilbert, owner of Gilbert's 17th Street Grill....GO NOW! She took the time to tell us all about what makes her burgers the best. � percent certified Angus, grass fed beef grilled on natural gas (not propane).Although there is no table service, the staff was quick to ask if we needed refills the delicious passion fruit ice tea, extra ketchup, mustard mayonnaise. Mrs Gilbert stopped by our table several times to be sure all was in order. Love this place!
Amazing burgers and fantastic staff. We're staying in Fort Lauderdale for one night and googled best restaurants and Gilbert's came up and what a great find this place was. Lenore Gilbert was so nice and helpful when we came in she explained all the different burgers to us and how they're made. We were sold on the Dominican burgers omg it was the best burger I've ever had and the chipotle mayo that they make there was great. The portions were huge but I couldn't leave without grabbing some desserts to take with us we chose the kitchen sink cookie and the chocolate lava cake absolutely perfect. Everyone must go to this place if you're ever in Fort Lauderdale we will definitely come back
I literally LOVE this place! The food is always amazing, almost like everytime you go it's the first time! The desserts always hit the spot. This has the be only place I'll ever eat my fill and feel fine afterwards (not bloated and tired) and that speaks to the quality of the food! Then, you have the awesome staff! Always waiting on you, even when it's busy and always friendly. Before you have even sat down they're already preparing the table for you and waiting for whatever help you might need. Everyone here is nice and the food is great! Probably my favorite restaurant ever tbh! 10/5 is my rating.
We wanted to try a local restaurant that was in walking distance of our hotel and saw Gilbert's on TripAdvisor. I'm so glad we chose it. We were greeted by the sweet owner who gave us info about the restaurant and her food recommendations. I had the ribs and they were the best I've ever had. Cooked to perfection with an awesome homemade rub and bbq sauce. My husband had a burger and thought it was great as well. We definitely recommend it. Oh, and a thanks to the wait staff who were all great! Keep up the good job!
We visited yesterday for a quick dinner before flying home. Found this great place on TripAdvisor. All of our food was very good—the burgers were great—and the service was perfect. The owner and her staff made it a very bright spot in a stormy day! We will be back!
This place is run by the nicest family, so friendly and really helpful. The food is great, we had the ribs, chicken wings, Angus burger and spinach salad and all were really good, definitely worth a visit!

Rest of my family had burgers and they were amazing as well. Good food great service. My wife and I went to Gilbert's this past Saturday to meet our good friend Robert Calamia. My burger the Dominican was the best burger I've had. Trip Advisor rated Gilbert's highly and they are spot on. Great place
There are a lot of excellent craft burger joints in South Florida but Gilbert’s is hands down the Best! I have never not been “Wowed” with each of their creative burger concoctions!

We stopped here on the way back from Miami the Ft. Lauderdale Airport for a flight. The burger was fantastic, and the service was great too (especially Ms. Gilbert herself, who coaxed us in for lunch!).
Stopped in and could not believe the size and quality of the burger. Wings were excellent as well.. Would highly recommend .
First time here and happy to find it. From the moment we walked in we were treated absolutely phenomenal. The desserts are baked in house by the owners and they taste as good as they look. The blackened tuna was amazing and served rare as it is supposed to be. The burger on a muffin was very tasty. I always order my fries extra crispy and often find this request to be a waste because the handle ever do it. This time the daughter of the owner, who was taking our order told me that is the way she likes them and they came perfect! We will be back. We are enjoying the Rocky Road cookie at home :)
We had just got off a 7 day cruise period and had some time so we decided to check out some local places. We went in right at 11 in the morning when they just opened. We were greeted by the owner. He explained that they were a locally-owned business and if we didn't see anything on the menu or needed to make changes they would be more than willing to accommodate us. Their burgers are 8 oz I said that's pretty big. She stated they could cut it in half so my wife and I could share it which we did. I ordered a side order of onion rings. They were the best onion rings I've ever had and the burger was outstanding cook perfectly. The staff came by asking if we need more drinks how everything was not just once but several times good customer service. Their prices were very reasonable as well for what you got good quality good service good friendly place. Wish more businesses were like this

Even though I have lived in South Florida forever, I somehow have never been to Gilbert's in the 16 plus years that they have been opened. I am stoked I decided to go there last week.
We googled best burgers in Fort Lauderdale and we were guided to this gem.
The owner husband and wife duo were working the register and cooking and were beyond hospitable!
We started off with some grilled lemon pepper wings as an appetizer and a bowl of Split Pea soup.
The grilled wings were super tasty and cooked just right and the soup made a solid showing as well.
Then the burgers came. We each got a different set of toppings but ALL of us got the same amazingly flavorful burger cooked to our individual liking. Truly was one of the best burgers I have had in a long long long time.
The service was incredible and the vibe of college sports on the multiple TVs was a nice addition to the food experience.
I couldn't leave without getting a few cookies - which ranked up there with the rest of the experience.
This definitely will be a regular stop for me in the future.
Nice place we happened by while in Ft Lauderdale. First off, everyone who works there is super nice and helpful. The owner greeted us and gave some good recommendations. I had a hickory burger with their house made BBQ sauce. It was really good and the beef is high quality. They said it was cooked on a grill (and it sure looked like it was) but I thought it didn't have the flavor of being grilled like that. But the portion was huge and it was a good meal. I also recommend the cookies (we got a chocolate covered one but they all looked good).
Read the reviews for the best burgers, and they did not disappoint!! Had the Godfather, Brie, and Hickory burger between us and all were great. Great fries, sweet potato fries, and mac and cheese too.
Of course we had to get some sweets too, which we got to go but man, they look amazing.
Burgers were good. The one I ordered, Italian style, came at the right temperature I ordered. My husband’s was well done (we both ordered medium). Flavors were good. Environmental is very nice and staff were very friendly and very helpful.
Best burger in town I'd say. Cool staff too. I have gone here a lot and they never disappoint. I always forget to take pics cuz im too eager to get into the food. The wings are great here too, and I get them grilled every time! You can combine the lemon pepper wet sauce with the teriyaki. My recommendation. My favorites so far have been the Hottest Burger and the Bleu Cheese Burger. For the Bleu Cheese Burger, they actually inject the cheese into the patty. The burger below was the Havarti burger, with the English muffin. A delightful burger joint.
The food here is absolutely delicious. My brother and I made a stop on our way to Miami, and we are glad that we did. The service was amazing. The staff is very friendly. Most importantly, our food came out perfect and was delicious. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who stays or frequent Fort Lauderdale.
Awesome spot for burgers! Super satisfying, great sized portions and reasonably priced. They have a nice little seating area outside, and the service is fantastic. Would definitely recommend :)

Didn't expect the taste and quality of burgers will exceed our expectations, but they did! Indeed their burgers not just best in South Florida, but in the entire East coast!! Will definitely coming back to try other burger options and desserts on their menu! You should definitely taste this amazingly juicy and delicious burgers!!
