In March we celebrated Mom's 90th. These 3 'Works of Art' cakes were used as the centerpieces on each table. Spectacular and then very delicious. The floral cascade, a showstopper, was all scrumptious chocolate; one of the pink rosettes was lemon-raspberry (oh my l, yum!) ; the other pink rosette was vanilla & chocolate layers (a delectable combo). A lot of 'Wow's, a lot of cake and not much left! Once they were sliced everyone chose their desired flavor to enjoy. I first enjoyed We Take The Cake at my bridal shower and then as my exquisite custom wedding cake almost 20 years ago and was thrilled to now have another opportunity to enjoy their creations. Easy to work with both Demaris and Jean. Well worth the drive to Fort Lauderdale from Coral Gables! Thank you for being a part of this very special celebration. 💕🌸
I have no idea what my cake was supposed to look like (it was ordered by a friend for me). Unfortunately all the ice had melted and so had the cake when it got here, but it still tasted delicious so I'm still giving 5 stars haha. I picked it up the second it was delivered too, I think it likely just sat in the ups facility longer than anticipated. Oh well, it still eats great! 😂
I purchased your Pink Rose Layer Cake online to be shipped to Louisiana for my step mom's birthday surprise on August 22, 2023. Now, people in Louisiana know good food and especially desserts. This cake was a hit with my whole family. They're still raving about this cake. I only wish I could have been there to enjoy it with them but I live in southwest FL. Thank you all so much for the delicious surprise 💕.
I ordered the pink flower frosted, chocolate cake for our Best Friends who were having their 2nd baby (obviously a Girl) It arrived right on time!! Said Baby Girl was late, as most Girls are 🤣 And Momma got to enjoy cake while waiting on her arrival! Our friends were so happy with the look of the cake, and raved about how deliciously moist it was!! She said it was the best gift they've received for the occasion! Thank you Guys for such a beautiful creation, and for packing it appropriately for the trip across the Nation!
WOW! What a cake! I expected it to come out good, but not nearly as amazing as it did, especially in such a short time. It was unbelievable. It was a huge hit at the party. It was too cute to eat, but glad we did. It was so delicious. I loved the cookies and cream filling. People came over to our table to comment on the design. I can't thank you enough. It was outstanding! Also - you guys were so wonderful to work with. I worked with other cake designers in the South Florida area and there's no comparison in both talent and customer service. I will only work with We Take the Cake. Can't wait to have another party. Many thanks!

Great cake, great customer service. My wife and I were in Ft. Lauderdale for our anniversary. I did a search for gluten free cakes prior to coming to Florida and this place came up. I called and told them what I wanted. They were very friendly and accommodating. I paid for the cake ahead of time and they set up a time for me to pick it up. We picked it up on a Friday and went back to the hotel. My wife was very surprised and dove right into it as soon as we got back. The cake was delicious!!! It was moist and tasty, if I did not know it was gluten free I would not have known.
FYI: They are not a certified gluten free bakery so if you are Celiac,this may not work for you.
Update: Ordered a gluten free birthday cake. We are in North Carolina. Again customer service was excellent. Placed the order on 8/8/22 for and 8/12 delivery, the cake arrived on 8/13 which was a bummer. I’m not blaming We take the cakes, that’s why they still have a 5 star. UPS totally dropped the ball on this one. Got a notice that it was “out for delivery” on 8/12 then they changed it to “on the way for 8/13”. We take the cakes shipped it out on 8/10, 3 days to go from FL to NC, come on UPS. On the plus side, the cake was packaged well and was moist and delicious. I will definitely order more cakes from them again.

I want to thank your Team for the hard workdays you put in the Morning, Noontime, and Evenings. I have placed 5 orders already with your online Baked by Melissa Mini Cupcakes to send to the people that I love and care about. I have received so many positive reviews that upon receiving these cute little mini cupcakes to hear that they could not stop smiling & the EWWWW AWWWWWW sound while they are eating them. Each family member that I asked told me my favorite was Peanut Butter and Jelly. Another cousin said I love chocolate chip mint, my sister in-laws said she loved all of them! Being that my loved ones enjoyed what they received sooooooo much and they did not stop thanking me for the treat. I also wanted to experience what everyone else was talking about. That week I placed my order, I received my shipment to enjoy with my husband. I ordered it to arrive after my Birthday being that I was out of town. Online you can also choose the date you want it to arrive to your home which was May 16th, 2023. When I placed my order, I had to pick cupcakes that my husband is not allergic to. He is allergic to chocolates and nuts, so I ordered a few different flavors for him. Baked by Melissa has a variety of flavors that you can pick and choose. Create your own personal package. You guys’ ROCK!!! This is a nice gift to give to anyone to show that you care about them, and they are loved. My momma always said that people love to sample the little things and how little they are. Just picked up the bouquet cupcakes as a treat for the girls at work for mothers day. A package of 8. They are absolutely beautiful! Will post another review after we eat them, lol. Placed them in my fridge to take to work. The packaging is very nice and secure.
Can't wait to taste them. Oh, I found them on TicTok of all places. Low and behold they was actually local to my area. Who knew??
We ordered this through the Goldbelly App. For our birthdays. It was the most delicious, decadent, moist, chocolate cake we’ve ever had. It arrived in perfect packaging, and inside a beautiful box. We did wedding tastings with several cake companies in South Florida. We wanted a cake that was beautiful AND delicious, and at first we had a hard time finding a company that delivered on both. We are SO happy we chose We Take the Cake.
My husband designed our cake, providing hand-drawn sketches to Jean and her team. It was inspired by the sunset we got engaged underneath, as well as a sun-themed piece of jewelry he’d given me we when we were dating. So it was a really special piece of symbolism for our day. The three-tier cake would have an architectural/structural design. The aesthetic was Art Deco and minimal. A design-y, fondant cake but with a monochromatic style that would require simplicity and restraint.
And WOW, we were blown away when we saw the end result. The design was exactly what we dreamed of! Just flawlessly executed. I do not think the photos can even do it justice.
The cake was half key lime raspberry, and half coconut. The flavors were just as good as the tasting, if not better. We Take the Cake absolutely nailed it. Truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day.
Arrived home to find a box with a beautifully wrapped cake for my birthday. Thought it was nice gesture, but how good could it be? Well, it was very good and that is why I am doing this review. The candles were a perfect touch!!
We had the strawberry cake it is was super moist. I loved the amount of fresh strawberries inside. Be careful with the size of cake you order, they tend to be on the smaller side. Very happy with the cake! See photos!
This bakery is absolutely amazing. I was visiting and needed a pretty quality cake. The lady that helped names Damaris was so helpful!!! Please try this bakery you will not be disappointed! Amazing customer service and the place was a whole vibe!
This company was incredible! I walked in, and was able to pick up a last minute cake for my father's birthday. Not only did I receive amazing customer service from the lady at the counter, but the cake was OUTSTANDING! It was the perfect ending to my dad's big 50th birthday! Each year, I take it upon myself to order my own cake for my birthday because after 20+ years of marriage, I've learned if you really want something specific, sometimes you have to take care of it yourself. I do not want grocery store cake bought at the last minute for my birthday. So, after ordering a cake from y’all for my in-laws in August and hearing them rave about how absolutely delicious it was, I decided I’d try one of your cakes for myself this year.
But here’s the tricky part. I’m also trying to lose some of this Covid-19/Year 2020 weight and didn’t want to be left with a large cake for days and the temptation to keep munching on it, long after the celebration with my small family. So, I ordered your fall bouquet cupcakes.
I want to say thank you!!!
Not only were they beautifully decorated and expertly packaged, they were absolutely fantastic and delicious. I ordered the set of 8 so everyone in my family could have two. I’m so torn because even though I’m behaving, I want to order more! That buttercream was perfect and the cake was divine. I have to also confess, I’m not a fan of chocolate cakes because in my experience they can be too dry. But not yours. Yours were perfect.
Thank you for your beautifully, delicious cupcakes and thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday this year.
