Had to stop yesterday after my truck overheated waiting in traffic. I live a few blocks from here and I’m sad this is the first time I’ve stopped! What a great place! Wonderful beer selection that I have not found anywhere in FL. Dunkel on tap, say no more! What a treat! Super clean, great menu and cold beer.

absolutely luved this restaurant. very friendly staff ..excellent menu and food..cozy place. I had the special..slow simmered beef with horseradish sauce..pan potatoes and wonderful salad. Frank had the meatloaf and potatoes pancakes and dumplings. all was superb. Prices were great as well. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. We were blown away by the care put into each dish; the rich flavors made it very hard to pick only one or two favorites. We had a bit of everything, and everything was genuinely delicious. Heidi (yes, she's there!) is a treasure, and made our evening even more memorable. If there were a way to give six stars, I would.
Phenomenal food!! The best food I’ve eaten in a long time. Delicious dinner, fantastic breakfast, excellent coffee, service and prices!! I cannot say enough about this restaurant! We can’t wait to come back next year when we’re back for vacation.

Stopped here for lunch. If you like genuine, excellent German food, this is the place. There is also a Bakery attached that has excellent apple strudel, among other goodies. For my meal, I had Nuernberger bratwurst and potato salad. Ausgezeichnet!

We Love Heidi's . We went with friends yesterday that had not been and they loved it so much. The food is so delicious and the staff is very friendly. We're partial to the Jaeger schnitzel. Salad is crisp and house dressing is great. Pan fried potatoes a must. I will miss going but have to head north ............. but we'll be back!!!!!
By far the best German food what I had in the US. Must visit on Fort Myers Beach! Awesome owners and nice staff.

Dinner 5/17/17 - This was our first meal at Heidi's Island Bistro - German and American Cuisine, a small Family owned and operated establishment offering exceptional food, excellent service and they made us feel like extended family, too. Lobster Bisque, German French Onion Soup, Crispy oven-roasted duck with potato pancake and red cabbage and for a grande finale, Apfelkeuchle!!! Awesome! All the way around!!
We will visit Heidi and Axel every future trip to Red Coconut.

Delicious food with great portion size. We had the bratwurst and pork schnitzel. Hibiscus mimosas and Apfelkrapfen for desert! Heidi the owner and cook is very sweet and will make recommendations. Will be making many trips back!
Best German food this side of the Atlantic. Well worth fighting the traffic to come to Fort Myers Beach.
Recommend the liver dumpling soup and any of the schnitzels.

Authentic German cuisine. Heidi, the owner, gave very detailed descriptions of all of her menu items and also made great wine recommendations. The service was excellent and Heidi really made you feel like you were at home. I can't wait to go back there and try more of the menu.

Delicious German cuisine! Get here early, or else this place fills up because it's so good. Heidi was our waitress and very friendly and accommodating! When we visit the Cape Coral area again, we will definitely be back.
We pre-ordered the Schweinehaxen, a special German roasted pork shank. You should order at least 3 Days ahead. The portion was huge. It was prepared perfectly and the skin was so crispy.
The service was great. Heidi was taking very well care of us.
The timing was great. No wait even though the place was quite busy.
Chef Axel came out at the end and made sure we had enough food.

Beyond amazing experience. Heidi was so incredibly helpful to my indecisive fiancé and I. All of her menu recommendations were AMAZING. We greatly enjoyed the french onion soup, jaeger Schnitzel (side of spaetzle and red cabbage), and the Black Forest dessert. Truly phenomenal German food. We sat on the back patio during a light rain and it was such a wonderful atmosphere. Maybe most spectacular of all was Heidi’s service. She treated us as family and we felt instantly at home. This is now our favorite restaurant in Fort Myers!
Heidi's was a victim of Hurricane Ian. A ten foot water surge destroyed the businesses on Fort Myers Beach. Heidi's came back "Florida Strong" a little more inland.
The German food and service are great!
My favorite is Schnitzel with brown gravy (there is also mushroom, red, etc), bread dumplings, cabbage, potato pancakes, and Apple Strudel!
I would like to see potato dumplings come back as a special when they settle in.
Don't forget a cold, frosty glass of Munich's Hofbräuhaus Beer!
This restaurant is a hidden gem! Authentic German dishes, great service, and a beautiful German atmosphere. The food was just amazing! We got Jaeger schnitzel, meatloaf, and the Bavarian plate. Seriously, you have to try this place! Highly recommend.

Can’t wait to go back! Iris waited on my husband and I. She was so nice and gave us samples of the two wines we were trying to decide between and even gave us a taste of their delicious hearty goulash before we decided. Amazing schnitzels and sauces and sides. Everything we tasted was so delicious, it was hard to stop eating even when we got full. It’s the best German food we’ve ever had. Heidi, the owner, is SO sweet. She made us feel like we were with family.
Authentic. Amazing. Awesome. Clean homemade uniquely genuine German food. From the sauerbraten to the sauerkraut, it was simply amazing and made to perfection. We closed the place down and got to meet Heidi- who is beyond lovely. This is a restaurant that after you visit once, it becomes a regular destination each time you return. Not only did the food warm my soul and exceed my expectations, when you add in the ambiance, and the people, it became unforgettable. I felt like we stumbled upon a secret passageway to a German chateau, where we instantly became apart of a easy going celebration with long lost friends and family. This will be a must go restaurant for me every time go to Fort Meyers.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Heidi's German Restaurant in Fort Myers with a group of friends. We were familiar with their former Fort Myers Beach location, which was unfortunately destroyed by Ian, and we were thrilled to learn of its reopening at this new venue.
The newly reopened restaurant is beautifully decorated, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The staff, donning traditional Dirndl dresses, were both friendly and attentive, adding an authentic touch to our dining experience.
The quality of the food at Heidi's is top-notch. We sampled a variety of dishes, including Schnitzel, Sauerbraten, and Kartoffelpuffer. I personally opted for the Schweinebraten with Knodel, and we were all incredibly satisfied with how the meals were prepared and presented. The taste was exceptional; truly a testament to authentic, high-quality German cuisine.
A German restaurant wouldn't be complete without a selection of German beers, and Heidi's certainly didn't disappoint in that regard.
All in all, Heidi's German Restaurant in Fort Myers has made a successful comeback. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning soon. It is indeed a celebration of German cuisine done right and a tribute to resilience in the face of adversity.
An incredible family run restaurant. Axel is able to bring authentic taste to your tastebuds that you will never forget. the service in the dining room is always great they greet you with a smile and warm welcoming energy. It pairs so well with the intrinsic German atmosphere. The new location has a beautiful beer garden area under covered patio out back and the very wonderful courtyard up front. The beer steins invite you to stay awhile and the deserts tantalize you with tastes of the old world. I can’t say enough how grateful the community is to have your restaurant back after such a devastating loss from hurricane Ian. Can you ever have too much of a good thing? I’ll find out now that’s it’s much closer to home. Hahah. Do yourself a favor and come to enjoy the wonderful Heidi’s German restaurant!
Perfect authentic German food, a little piece of home for my boyfriend 🇩🇪 we started off with a small pretzel with Bavarian sweet mustard. Jaeger schnitzel was so delicious and full of flavor! My favorite was the beer, Hofbräu. We can’t wait to go back and try more delicious food. Everyone was so nice and welcoming 😊

I recently tried Heidi's German restaurant in Ft Myers for the first time. I'd give it 4 out of five stars. ✨
It's tucked away in an office style building, so seemingly an odd fit. Yet inside you have both indoor and outdoor seating with various decorations that help bring you a little German culture. The service was wonderful, very friendly and engaging. Our waitress was dressed in a traditional German costume and could not help us enough in answering questions or making recommendations when asked.
I tried a beer flight sampler to taste the range of German beers they offered, settling for a full pint of hoffbrau afterwards. A meat sampler dish followed along with schnitzel, potato pancakes, and various other sides. Having enjoyed good German food at various other places, theirs was up to par to what I was hoping for. No disappointments. The only thing I would suggest is to increase the portions. Although not chincy, I would have liked a bit more. However, that did leave me with room for dessert.
From a selection I chose something I can't spell or pronounce, but is basically a dép fried donut with crushed apple filling that they only make fresh to order. I got it with a side of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious and not the sort of thing you can get anywhere. Which is the main attraction of Heidi's in the first place. I'll be bringing out of town family to enjoy Heidi's now that we know how good it is. Thumbs up. 👍

Heidi's is like a little slice of Germany right in Ft. Myers. The atmosphere is laid back – you walk in, and it's like being welcomed into someone's cozy Bavarian living room. The place has that friendly, no-fuss vibe that makes it a go-to for anyone craving legit German grub in a comfy setting.

We went to Heidi’s with another couple on Friday night. It was perfect. We were seated immediately at the last table. Walking to the table people were laughing and enjoying a variety of meals. Our waitress, Iris, was helpful and knowledgeable. We each had a different entree and they were all delicious. Our drinks and food were the perfect temperature. When we were leaving Heidi walked out with us and was genuinely concerned about our experience. This is definitely a great restaurant and experience that we highly recommend. We are going in January and taking other friends.
So soooo good. We all had phenomenal dishes: knockwurst and bratwurst plate, Jaeger schnitzel and Black Forrest schnitzel with awesome sides of kraut, red cabbage, German pot salad, spaetzle. Been twice already, and can't wait to go back! Awesome authentic food, great service and reasonably priced. The white sausage w/pretzel and plum slice w/butter crumbles for dessert were delicious! Went with large group - all orders excellent, quick to be served. Wonderful experience!
Great Authentic German food. Staff is awesome, family atmosphere, food is really authentic German. Every time I go it feels like coming to home to family.
