Great German food. Fresh and hot. Made from scratch. The food had good flavor. Highly recommend it.
i'm really amazed ...the food was so tasty the service was great ... so traditional .. and i love how passionate the staff is about the food ..the service was amazing i felt like i was their only main focus .. i felt catered .. i felt at home .. again the food was amazing !!!
The food here is top notch! The potato pancakes are superb, goulash and soups do not get any better, the sausages and snitzels are amazing, the desserts are ALL delicious and they have Spaten Optimater on tap! Peter, Vlatka, and their staff always take care of their customers from greeting until farewell.
Have had nothing but wonderful dining experiences here. Most recently, the Krautzpaetzle was to die for. I’d give Greenwood’s 25 stars if I could!
Fantastic food, nice atmosphere and good service. I am not real familiar with German food but the menu describes the dish well and I was pleased with my selection. Greenwoods will be a "Return for sure".

Visited for the first time on a co-workers recommendation and wasn't disappointed. Everything on the bratwurst platte was delicious, and my husband, who is not so much into German food, had the chicken & pasta in dill sauce and loved it. The service was superb! We will definitely be back - highly recommend.
Really good authentic German food. The mushroom sauce is the best I've ever had. Loved the schnitzel and sauerbraten. Really enjoyed the red cabbage and sauerkraut. Excellent service.
We've been going to Greenwoods for several years and it's special for us. Especially after last night when my boyfriend proposed after a wonderful meal! We'll continue to come to Greenwoods for all our milestones. 💚
This restaurant is amazing. The food was made from scratch and the wait was very well worth it.
Wonderful find in Fort Worth. Great taste, portions, and prices. We got the sausage plate to share with potatoes, cabbage, and sauerkraut- fantastic!
We went with friends. The food was fantastic. Red cabbage was great everything was nice and hot. Can't wait to go again.
This is an amazing authentic German restaurant that has not been watered down by being located in Texas. My split pea soup reminded me of my youth when my mom would make it for me. Tuesday was Schnitzel nite and did not disappoint. The homemade bread is to die for! The wait staff were very attentive and helped us decide what to eat.
This restaurant is a must! We can't wait to go back.
Great mom and pop place serving Excellent German food. The Jager Schnitzel was awesome! Red Cabbage was top notch. Save room for the apple streudel. It is delicious!!!
Delicious food, kind and prompt service. We really enjoyed the 10B, 13 and 1 portion apple strudel
We're so happy to have found an authentic German restaurant with vegetarian options. We tried a delicious käsespätzle in a huge portion and took the fresh strudel to go.
This charming place is family owned by a couple who are passionate about good food and sharing their friendship and German culture to their customers. My husband and I enjoy this place when we like to celebrate important events. The price is well worth it but we understand most of the time we're on too tight of a budget to eat there. We wait in anticipation and excitement between visits to savor their authentic German sausage, beer, sauerkraut and homemade bread.
This place is so good. Remember, you are there for the food, not to be entertained with all kinds of crazy stuff. Each week night (except Monday because they are closed) they have different specials. ALL are good. Each night we have gone, I wanted to ask for another because it was so good. It would be super easy to gain weight eating here because it is so delicious. I actually did one night, but ate it the next day because I was so full. It was, of course, amazing. The couple that run the place are super nice. HE makes everything from scratch and is a certified German "Cake Master" (his certificate hangs on the wall as you walk in but is all in German). Every desert I have ordered from there has also been so good. The chocolate cake is made with a liquor so beware if you are not a fan. I think the food is so much better than any other German food I've had in Fort Worth. Go. you'll love it. I have never been disappointed.
Absolutely loved everything! My grandmother is from Germany and everything reminds me of things I used to have in my childhood. We missed out on the potato pancakes though because they sold out, but I will definitely be back to try them. The German beer selection was great and the service was fast and friendly! A must-try!
I went with a group of friends. Each and every one of our group of seven loved what we ordered. Absolutely fabulous. To top it all off I left my credit card. When I realized what I had done hours later, I called ,gave my name, and the German lady said,"You left your credit card here." She told me it was safe; I could pick it up that night, the next day, or a week from now. Whenever I decided she would have it for me. Very honest. Thank you so much for the great food and your honesty. Customer for life.
This is absolutely the BEST German food I've eaten since I moved back home from Germany in 2001. I tried Edelweiss once and left so very disappointed. I tried one in Granbury 5+ years ago and it was decent, but I heard it was gone.
For many years, I've tried to duplicate the yummy food I grew to love in my 3 years living there. With Greenwood's, there's no need! It's AMAZING 😋
A friend introduced me to this restaurant a few years ago and now we regularly visit it, taking our friends and family. What you should know is that this is quality food served in an elegant and happy atmosphere. While not inexpensive, it certainly isn't cost prohibitive - if it was I wouldn't be able to visit as often as I do.
It's so good, that even my pre-teen and teenager kids love it, to the point where this is their choice of restaurant to celebrate their birthdays!
If you've never been, then this is an obvious and easy recommendation to make - go and eat there at least once.
Delicious food, friendly staff, small German only menu. If you live German food, thus is the best I've had. I've been a couple times and will go again. Familiarize yourself with schnitzel and goulash before going. Strudel is to die for.
Greenwoods is an institution in Fort Worth. Their food is by far the most authentic, with a welcoming atmosphere, and a fantastic selection. Tuesday night is schnitzel night, which I would highly recommend. Also, I have been going for well over 10 years now, and I have never had a soup I didn't like. Do yourself a favor and try this family owned establishment out.
This place is INCREDIBLE!
Delicious authentic German food made by a chef who used to own a restaurant in Germany.
This is my go to place with several friends who are in love with it too.
I've had a lot of their entree's but keep going back to the Jägerschnitzel with spatzle. Their strudels make for a great dessert!
My wife asked me where I wanted to go eat for my birthday. I told here where I wanted to go and where I would go would be two different places. I wanted to go to Waldgaststätte Schützenhaus in Mannheim, Germany. Instead I googled for German food near me and found Greenwood's German Restaurant and Bakery. We went there for my birthday supper. I must admit that the food was the best German style I have yet to find in the US. Service was excellent. I read some of the other reviews and wondered if it would be like the "true" German service where you got your drinks fast but took a long time to get you food ordered and then received. In Germany people go out to eat of the evening's entertainment. It was not so here.
Wow. This place is incredible. God only knows how long I've spent looking for even a single real German restaurant in my area. This place is still over a half hour away from me, but I will be coming back again and again. Finally a place where the staff actually speaks German to me, and the food is just as authentic. If you don't like the food here, then you just don't like German food, because this is as real as it gets. Easily the best German restaurant I've ever been to. Unglaublich lecker!!!
