Excellent food service delivered with a smile. If a basket of chips are the norm for this Mexican cafe, they forgot to place them in the table. Would have been nice to see how their chips tasted - made fresh in-house or commercial made. Steak fajitas with the appropriate sides was fantastic, steak was of good quality, skirt cut right, not over cooked, excellent flavor, meat was tender. Able to handle larger parties, wedding dinners which was ongoing when I dined.
I’ll be back, if for nothing else but to try out their chips!
This is a nice place. A little warm by the kitchen area tho. The food is good and the drinks are flowing!!! Mr Carlos was very attentive to the large group. Food orders were executed well with no mess ups. I dont have to order cuz most people dont finish their food. I can jus gather untouched items onto my spare plate and go. Even the birthday portion of the evening went great! Mr Carlos had table cleared and plates with forks for the cake. It was a good time for all
Our favorite go to for Mexican food. Always so good! Food is the best, service is the best! Very busy, but wait is short, and so worth it. Such an extensive menu unlike some other popular Mexican restaurants. They don't take reservations, but the wait is worth it. When they tell you how long the wait is, cut that time in half - always. Tonight we had a party of nine and were told it was a 1-hour wait. 20 minutes later we were seated.
Homemade flour torillas! The Queso is delicious! The chips and salsa are incredible! My family and I have been going here for many years and have always left happily. Sometimes, there is a wait to be seated because they get very busy, but it's usually not too terribly long. The servers are usually attentive and welcoming. My only complaint is that the restrooms could be updated. I hate taking my kids into the restroom there. The floor isn't level in the stalls so you have to be careful. This restaurant is too good of a place to have the restrooms in the conditions that they're in. That's it, that's really my only complaint.
First time visiting. We were sat down immediately and taken care of by a sweet lady waiter. The warm salsa was a nice change. I absolutely loved their margarita. The food was delicious, bacon wrapped shrimp doesn't get any better. The goat was falling apart and juicy. We left satisfied and content. Definitely coming back.
We came in for lunch and immediately saw a sign ‘please have patience, we are short staffed and don’t have enough employees’. Despite the warning, we were seated immediately, had beverages immediately and service very quickly. We ordered chicken and beef fajitas off the lunch menu which was very affordable. We walked in, ate and paid our bill in literally 25 minutes, it was that quick. The food was good but not great. I’ll definitely return, it’s a great value, the food is flavored great and the portion sizes are generous.
My only feedback which is unavoidable, was that the chicken dried out very quickly due to being served on a sizzling cast iron, which I do understand is the norm. My wife’s steak was better and I suspect due to the flexibility of being able to serve it rare/medium rare and allow it to cook further. You can’t do that with chicken.
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here on Sat May 14.
We were greeted right away when we entered, nice atmosphere, waiting time was short, even though it was Sat evening around 1830, usually very busy time at any restaurants like this one.
Miss Petra, the lady who was our server, was very sweet, courteous and welcoming.
She was very timely to take our order for drink and dinner.
Chips, salsa, our queso appetizer were all delicious.
I had Cheese Chile Relleno plate, and my husband had Shredded Beef Chimichanga plate.
All were wonderful.
It was a lot of food so we had half of our plate in a to go box at the end of our dinner.
We'll definitely come back here again.
We sat in the bar and mostly were there to drink but we did have a bowl of queso and it was pretty good. The bartender was very attentive and friendly. I would go back and try the food if I were in the area again
I've been eating here for a lot of years and I love LOVE this place!
The food is always consistent, the service is great, a well stocked bar, it's clean, the environment is very entertaining and last but not least, the food's fantastic.
If you find yourself in Northside Fort Worth in need of some Mexican food, I highly recommend you go here. I pretty much guarantee it, you won't be disappointed. That is unless, you're one of those people that are never happy and always send something back.
Make sure you get some flour tortillas and queso dip. Most of the time I end up filling up on tortillas and can eat all of my meal.
They have traditional Mexican food as well as good old Tex-Mex. They have a pretty big menu so go and explore and eat well, just don't drink and drive:-)
The food is incredible here - it looks unassuming but is completely delicious. Photo depicts the nacho supreme, which two people could honestly share. The chicken is flavorful, the sour cream is beautifully cold, cheese is melted perfectly, I could go on and on. Really looking forward to coming back here and getting some more great food.
Oh, the salsa is to die for. Strongly recommend.
The best salsa ever! It's warm and has a very unique flavor to it. I love that it's served warm and if you need a refill, they pour some more out of a carafe so that it's always served warm! They also serve you some of their homemade flour tortillas with butter. The tortillas are so unlike other tortillas....these have flavor! The wait staff is so attentive and pleasant. And last but not least, the ambience is so festive with lights and trees in the middle....it's set up like a courtyard with a water fountain looking thing in the center! It's gorgeous!
I always enjoy going to get nachos. The nachos are really good. The service is quick and attentive. Their happy hour drink is also delicious. This is a good place to go eat.
This was one of my favorite restaurants for years, but the last 2 times my family was there, it was ok at best. The first time we were sat and it took over 20 minutes before a waiter came and took our drink order. The server we finally ended up with was great, but the lack of service just ruined the whole vibe. This last time we went, we were sat and waited on in a good timely manor. The service was good, but in the end, when we were done eating, we sat for a while to receive our bill. The Rangers game was on, and we sat through 2+ innings. The restaurant was not busy. I truly love going to Mercardo Juarez, but these last two times have left a bad taste in my mouth, we will be taking a break from here for a while. This sounds crazy, but try it, and I hope you have a better experience than we did. It has an amazing atmosphere, in my opinion.
