Visited this place for lunch on a recommendation of one of our teammate. It is a small place and always booked.
We had to wait for 10-15 mins and we got table only outside. We ordered different main course along with few starters. I really enjoyed the starters, shrimp rolls and spring rolls. The thai fried rice was okish as the kind of rice used was not actually what soothes to my palate, other than that the taste was good.
I’ve never been here before. This Thai restaurant is in a shopping center so you don’t have to stress about parking. It doesn’t look much out side but when you walk in you see all the beautiful decor. Nice ambiance. It looks relaxing with the added cushioned pillows.
The staff: were friendly and the service was fast. Was kind of weird though we had asked to sit in this one area and they immediately said no! But they must have had a reason. But either way we had a good experience.
The food: we ordered as normal, you know fried rice, pad Thai, BBQ chicken, spring rolls, and crispy tofu. My personal favorite was the crab fried rice and crispy tofu. Tofu was perfectly cooked, there’s a crisp in every bite.
The price: not bad, about $13-$15 an entree and it’s very shareable. Check out the pictures oh I recommend ordering either a Thai Tea or Thai Coffee, very refreshing and nicely presented :).
Nice Thai place with vegetarian options, delicious soup, and curry. Staff are kind and attentive.
The veggie duck was delicious and so were the spring rolls. Only issue was I asked for no ice for the Thai ice tea and it came with ice. And the coconut ice cream was too hard and old tasting for the dessert.
Otherwise, will come back!
This Thai place was great, great flavor and taste. My reason for 4 stars is the curry portion size was a tad small. I asked them to make the spicy noodles less spicy and it was pretty spicy for me ;). They forgot to add tofu in my green curry which I informed towards the end, the waitress was gracious enough to give a cup of tofu and the curry alone.
Would definitely come back if I am in the area.
This was my first visit to Sweet Basil Thai and the experience was nearly perfect. The service was prompt, our appetizers delicious. My wife and daughters entres were great. I got the yellow curry shrimp, a favorite of my at Thai restaurants. The shrimp were poorly cleaned, veins and legs on many. It tasted fine, although I was asked how spicy and I requested VERY spicy, it was in reality very mild. I'll certainly give them another chance.
Overall good food. One thin that let it down today is seems they served overnight rice which is more suitable for fried rice. It is very dry. Hope they don't fo it again. This is the first time I experienced it after many visits
Very cute and cozy place.
The chef/ owner is very nice. He suggested me the best veg options and turned out to be great.
Definitely one of the best Thai place I’ve been to. We ordered chicken satay which was juicy and well complimented with the peanut dip. Skip the samosa. Crab cakes were light and scrumptious. Red curry was great, I paired it with spicy chicken rice and the sweet and spicy was a great combination. That said portion sizes were a bit small.
