Small little place on the main drag of Old Town Fredericksburg. Simple menu of outstanding mexican food. Try the Sangria.
Very reasonably priced.
Small restaurant in downtown Fredericksburg. Very tight inside as it is a narrow building. The service was efficient but not very friendly. I had a Pescado taco and a Carnita taco. The Pescado taco was very tasty. The Carnita was way too salty. I couldn't finish it. My spouse had the special which was a chicken and cheese papusa which he thoroughly enjoyed. The refried beans, were again, very salty. We spent $30 for lunch which is a bit pricey. The bathrooms and building in general were dirty and off putting. Due to the lack of cleanliness and overly salted food, I would not return.
Yum! We stopped in for a bite after walking around town. Tacos and drinks were very good. Great food & prices!
The food is pretty tasty. The prices are reasonable. The service is fine, but the servers are not very pleasant. While placing order.... You should know what you want, DO NOT ask too many questions/ customize a menu item as this annoys them. Just remember, this is not "Burger King" and can't always get it your way. My suggestion is to try it! But avoid if you are easily offended. One must have "thicker skin" or experience dealing with semi-unfriendly foreigners while dining here.
Delish. Wonderful chicken tortilla soup, yummy ropa vieja (one of my favorites which is hard to find anywhere else), decent salsa and tamales. One of our favorites for a quick bite.
I just loved this restaurant!! The service was great and the food was fantastic. The prices were reasonable and portions were big. Everything was freshly made. Great find!!
Best Lunch in FBurg. This entire town is very weak for those who enjoy a good meal. One of the exceptions is Soup and Taco. Great food, good service and cheap prices. Can't go wrong here for good Mexican food.
My man and I came to soup and taco tuesday afternoon. It was surprisingly busy. I didn't like the fact that sodas were from cans and there are no free refills. Love the decor and love the staff. The food is made in house and tastes fresh and delicious.
Great food, friendly staff.
This place is a bit iconic in Old Town Fredericksburg as a small kitchen with super tasty, delicious tacos. It is consistently terrific and a great little place to stop in for lunch. We usually carry out for a picnic in a local park. That’s what we did today after biking in from Stafford’s Saint Clair Brooks Memorial Park on the bike path, crossing the Chatham bridge and hitting the historic downtown. It was “Taco Tuesday”, so even better! We ate our tacos on a picnic table overlooking the Rappahannock river at Old Mill Park so that we could enjoy the sunshine and toss a frisbee. If you’re downtown and looking for a flavorful bite of yummy Mexican, this place is great!

I love going to this place because it is small and authentic. I usually get a chimichanga with no cheese/sour cream to make it vegan and it is delicious. There are endless chips as an appetizer and the salsa is always 10/10 spicy and delicious. We can't wait to try the second location.
These are 100% the best tacos I ever had! We got the fried plantains with crema fresca, chorizo tacos, birria tacos, and tres leches for dessert. This place is exactly what we were craving and the birria tacos were outstanding. The service was quick and friendly. This place can get busy fast so we make a point of showing up early. We could not give this place a higher recommendation and will definitely bring our friends and family in the future!
So glad I finally tried this place. Nice shindig downtown with a good lowkey atmosphere. Fast kitchen, fast service. It was Sunday after church and they weren’t that crowded, maybe 3/4 full with a decent turnover rate. It’s not a big place so I imagine it can get packed at times?
I haven’t had a burrito this good since I’ve been in SoCal. Had the shredded beef which isn’t on the menu but the waitress had no issues taking the order. They have a variety of hot sauces available including Cholula I believe; you only need to ask. Chips and salsa are mad good as well — cleared it before the entree came out which is not something I ever do. Jalapeños fresh and crunchy. I’ll be back for sure, thank you!
Food was delicious, really enjoyed the flavors of the various tacos we ordered. The only knock is that the restaurant is very tiny and can seem a little cramped when the crowds come in. Other than that it was a great experience.
If you love that authentic downtown feeling, then this is the place to visit! The food is great! The staff are the friendliest! Family owned business! We always have the best time!
Great, home cooked type of food. The soup, fresh salsa and chips were excellent. Tacos were good - but I have had better ones.
I was right behind the guy in line that made the comment 5 min before me. Soup and Taco is always a great place to eat and order take out from. I would recommend this place any day of the week.
