Reviews Old Strand Emporium

The best meals of my life are the ones when I have gotten exhausted being a tourist somewhere, buy a book or brochure about the area, then find a hyper-local cafe where I revel in a great meal and ambiance while recharging my engines and reading my book. All of that is by way of saying that I just enjoyed such a meal at the Strand Emporium in the historic harbor district in Galveston. They have 247 (?) varieties of very cold bottled beer; I got a Guinness Extra Stout and a chicken salad sandwich on nice wheat bread--classic rock playing in the background was a bonus. Thinking now about dessert before I cross the street to the Railroad Museum.

Stopped off to try something new and I must say are we glad we did. This has the BEST Sandwich that I have had. You have to try THE GRAND. The grill cheese for my daughter was great, my wife had the Turkey on Texas toast. We will most definitely be back.

One of the best holes in the wall in Galveston, outstanding food, outstanding customer service. I order out of here pretty often, but I would highly recommend going in person. The drink selection alone is enough to warrant the trip.

The new recent owners have really given the place a fresh but old time feeling! Love going somewhere and seeing old brands I haven't seen in years. Usually every store/shop you go into on the strand has the same exact products and food. Not the emporium! They have such a wide unique variety! Will be visiting quite often from now on. The Pastrama-rama sandwich is a 10/10 in my book as well.

I ordered off menu, the jalapeno pepper grilled cheese. Oh. My. Goodness. So freaking good. There's some kind of jelly and cream cheese and bacon and I will be eating them the next week.

Super neat little shop on the strand. My wife and I spent about an hour walking around in here. Quaint mix of antiques, gag gifts, and knickknacks

The new owners have done an amazing job revamping the store but also keeping the old fashioned feel, the service and sandwiches were both 5 stars! Will definitely be coming back!
