This is a great place, we joined the waitlist about 30 minutes before we were seated which was fine because we just walked around the town a bit. Once we were seated we were greeted by a kind waitress and we ordered. We ordered the hogs in a blanket, the two eggs any way, the cheese omelet, and the black bear skillet. All the food was good and the portions were very large. The skillet is huge actually, it’s the size of a large cast iron skillet and comes with lots of food so I would recommend sharing it with someone, unless you have a large appetite. Overall, the atmosphere was super cool with all the antiques and wood features and it was a good experience. It didn’t take too long for the food to come and it was all warm and fresh. I would totally recommend coming here for breakfast!
The place had a really neat vibe. The food portions were large but so were the prices of the food. It isn't cheap. The food to me was mediocre. The other 2 people with me loved theirs. I had way too much bacon in my omlette and very little cheese. The biscuits are more like rolls and very dry. One of the people at my party asked for gravy to try to make it not so dry. The apples were pretty hard and had the peelings on them. A tiny bowl of gravy was brought along with an additional 3.50 charge. The cinnamon roll was okay. I think I hyped it up in my mind more than what it ended up being.
Best breakfast in town, hands down. This place was so good, we ate here every day of our vacation. The pancakes will blow your mind, but everything we ordered was great. Service was great. Sometimes there is a wait in the morning, but it moves pretty quickly and is worth it.
Surprised with my experience!
First of all, I'm glad they have the tech to get in line from your phone. We were there on a Saturday in the fall and it was packed! But gladly, we only waited for about 15 minutes thanks to this option. So if you are planning a visit, please consider this.
Once seated, we were assisted by Tami, who ensure we had a great experience from start to finish. With our cooperation by looking the menu ahead, we already knew what were wanted, so everything was fast: ordering and receiving our food.
I had the Mountain Omelet, which had everything I wanted. It was savory and delicious, but a bit greasy to my taste. It had it with Hash potatoes, which needed just a pinch of extra seasoning so it stands from being just potatoes.
My spouse had the Corn Beef Egg Benedicts. They found it delicious, to almost lick the plate!
Now, I am always down for a Cinnamon Roll, so needed to try their classic Roll. It comes with a sugar glaze which I believe it is mixed with milk/cream to make it runnier. Even that wasn't enough to reach the tasty stage. It was unbalanced, as it had more dough and barely tasted the cinnamon-sugar part. And the glaze was milkier than sugary. It was a disappointment.
Besides that, the experience was a good one. Service, main entrees, and vibe, was nice.
I recommend this place, but stay away from that Cinnamon Roll!
In doing research for this vacation. This place was recommended by j&b in the hills and a few other influencers/vloggers.
We came up by trolley from pigeon forge and so we narrowly made it in before they close. They close about 1 so be mindful of that.
We had a 15 min wait and were seated in this beautiful miners camp themed restaurant. The seating is bench style with big tables and the menu is printed like a newspaper. There is so many yummy things to choose from so much so we almost bought 5 main dishes to split between all 4 of us and what we didn’t eat the rest we could bring home.
But we ordered the pot roast eggs Benedict, the cinnamon roll and buckwheat pancakes and cheese grits. If you need an intro to grits this is the place to get grits those grits were like eating clouds. Very light airy like they had been whipped and the cinnamon roll frosting was this incredible kitchen magic of epic proportions. It was absolutely evenly proportioned and was like eating spun sugar. The pot roast Benedict was incredible too soft meat with eggs was so good!
the buckwheat pancakes were mostly ordered for my kids but i had just a bite and they definitely better than mine from home and the syrup was warm and to die for buttery.
We loved the atmosphere as soon as we stepped into this restaurant. From the rustic decor to the newspaper menu, everything is well thought out. The food is good, but not as amazing as we expected it to be. The Eggs Benedict isn't your typical Eggs Benedict; it's more like a "camp-modified" version. My sunny-side-up eggs were a bit too runny. The French Toast was very good, and the pancakes were enormous and incredibly fluffy. We decided to take the giant cinnamon roll to go, but it was a bit dry the next day. Since we arrived super early, there was no wait. However, I would definitely recommend using the waitlist feature to avoid waiting during busier times.
We stopped in while on vacation on a Friday morning around 9am. We were headed in from Townsend and joined the online wait list when we had cell service, about 10-15 minutes out. We parked in the pay lot, kitty-corner behind the restaruant, $10 as of 11-03-23. MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK-IN WITH THE HOSTESS, even if you joined the wait list. This is mandatory. After checking in with the hostess we waited less than 10min for a table, while walk ups were being quoted about an hour. I'm sure it's not a perfect system, but the wait list seemed to work out well for us. Atmosphere is southern/cozy, similar to that of a Cracker Barrel. Waiter was friendly/attentive and our orders came out quickly. Food was great!! Highly recommend for breakfast!
Crockett's is a must for breakfast in Gatlinburg! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was cozy with a live fire going. The staff has that great down home hospitality! Service was quick, but no rush to get out the door! Sit back, drink your coffee, and enjoy the cabin style interior decorating! My choice? The big fluffy Japanese style pancakes 🥞 Shew, they were to die for! The hubby had a skillet breakfast that looked amazing too!
After reading lots of reviews and suggestions, we decided to check it out. We both got the Aretha Frankenstein waffle. Husband added sausage and I added bacon. Bacon was thick and chewy like beef jerky. It was very smoky bacon. Sausage was regular sausage. Nothing special. Waffles were good. Not too much food. The wait at 10 am on Monday morning was over an hour. It was easy enough to get added to the call ahead seating online. They send a text with a link to check the progress of how many people are in line ahead of you. You check in with the front desk when you are actually there and they will send you a text when your table is ready. We sat by the huge fireplace. It was really nice and cozy. Not sure if I would eat there again. I feel like we've gotten better food from cracker barrel for a much cheaper price. It was something to experience at least once tho.
We really enjoyed our breakfast here. Make sure to wake up early and get in line. It's so worth it. Wonderful ambiance to boot. Friendly service also. Our kids struggled to finish the fluffy pancakes.. They are thicker and heavier than what you are used to. Careful when you order...
