This was our first time eating at El Soñador Mexican Restaurant. A staff member at a nearby hotel recommended them and we are glad he did. The food was excellent, what I feel authentic Mexican food should be. The service and atmosphere were also very good. I had the Piña Loco, which was fabulous.
We ate here two nights in a row during our stay in Gatlinburg. The food is that good! The portions are a great size and everything that we tried tasted amazing! I had the pollo con chorizo both nights. I highly recommend it.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Four adults and we all really enjoyed our food and the price was right. We were able to walk there and if the elevator is not working I could see why some complained about that walk up.
I was disappointed that there were no hard liquor options which meant no margaritas. Just those that came from the can, pictured, my friend did order one which they put over I’ve with salt and she said it was good.
Would I go back? yes, the food was great and the server was super sweet.
Is this place in need of a few changes, also yes.
We come here once a year or so and it’s always good. As stated in another review, no frills Mexican restaurant, but the quality is there. We reside Ohio, and I would rather eat here than any of our Mexican restaurants there.
Will be back for sure!
A nice upstairs place with a great view of Bear Creek and the hillsides. The Quesadilla was like we fix at home, a little crisp on one side but tasty. The steak chimi was excellent as was the salsa. As usual, one of us got the single CRUNCHY taco.
Above average Mexican Restaurant right in Gatlinburg.
The chips were fresh and the salsa had good flavor, could have been a little hotter.
I had a Chimichanga, came with rice and beans. The Chimi was good (not great, but good), had a lot of meat. The beans were great, often overlooked by some restaurants.
NOTE: They don't have liquor here, beer and wine only.
There is no onsite parking, but plenty of options on the strip.
I would go back again.
This was one of our stops while in Gatlinburg! Great time! Lots of yummy food.
The food was great! The delivery person Jamie was very nice. I love that my fajitas have mushrooms, zuchinni & squash! In my hometown they dont have that on the fajitas. These were the best shrimp fajitas ive ever had!
The food is good and the view is terrific! Located just off the main road that runs through Gatlinburg, the restaurant is on the 3rd floor. It has huge windows that overlook the street. Great place to eat and people watch. Service was quick and friendly. Serving sizes are good. Just be aware that there is no parking spot on site but there is a paid parking lot across the street.
We were looking for some good Mexican while in town. We ordered the fresh guacamole, it was soooo good and no spice to it which is a bonus for me. My husband ordered the Chicken & Beef Nachos, it could have fed 2-4 people depending on how much you can/can't eat. The portion was huge as we felt bad leaving so much behind. I ordered from the kids menu for a smaller portion and it was still a little too big for me but still very good.
Our hostess & waitress were very kind and accommodating. Our waitress checked on us and made sure our food was okay and if we needed anything! I would eat here again!
Great food, big portions so very good value for money. Appreciated that they were open late for a last minute dinner.
Also vegetarian friendly, had a whole vegetarian section!
This is a great place to eat! Our waiter was excellent and friendly. The food was DELICIOUS. We will definitely eat here the next visit to Gatlinburg!
Good food and atmosphere! Portions were plentiful. Only beer available, but a decent selection. Loved the fact that the restaurant was on the 2nd level. Good views with the shades up. Prices were moderate
This is one of gatlinburg little hidden gems.
Very good authentic Mexican food. The place was clean, very good service, great portions. definitely a comeback to.
You need to try at least once also great beers on tap.
Best Mexican food I have had in a long time. Fresh chips with good salsa. Ordered several items from the menu, all were great. Our server, Roxy, was perfect. We look forward to many more return visits.
This is a no-frills standard Mexican restaurant towards the outskirts of downtown Gatlinburg.
We came for dinner and while the food was not amazing, we were pleasantly surprised. The food and alcohol were decent and reasonably priced for the area and portions.
I enjoyed that they offered highly customizable combination plates for $15, so I was able to order a tamale, taco, enchilada, and chile relleno without the typically requisite rice and beans. I could have done without the taco and the enchilada was just average, but the tamale and chile relleno were very good. The rojo sauce on top seemed to be house made and not canned.
As expected, the meal came with free chips and salsa. Mexican beers were affordable at $5 a bottle, but be aware that they don't have a full bar. For that reason, you can't get the usual margarita or paloma, but they do have canned margaritas if that's your thing.
Finally, the service was exceptional and attentive and the restaurant clean.
While it didn't blow my socks off, this place is a great option in an area bloated with subpar and overpriced touristy restaurants.
Good food, good prices, great service.
