NYPD Pizza is a good choice for NY style thin crust pizza in Gilbert. We especially like the white pie, Pizza Blanca, with olive oil, crushed garlic, ricotta, and mozzarella. They also give you a choice of one extra topping to put on that pie. They recommend fresh spinach or Roma tomatoes, but we go the extra mile and add an extra topping, and do the spinach and bacon. Delicious! My wife and daughters love the Soho pizza salad. It’s a pizza with salad on top. They call the crust a pizza crisp and it’s baked with garlic, spices and mozzarella. Then they put a salad on top of it with greens, bruschetta, almonds, feta, asiago cheese and their special house and ranch dressing mix. We also like their lunch combos that we feel are fairly priced with choices like pizza slices, salad, and wings.
Some of my favorite items are:
Pizza Blanca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
SOHO Salad Pizza ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wings ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Garlic Knots ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My guide on how I use the 5 star system:
⭐️ = Not good
⭐️⭐️ = Not terrible, but would not get again
⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Solid, but I’d try something else before this again
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Really liked it! You should try this
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ = Loved it! Must try
I’ll make adjustments to my ratings after subsequent visits. If you see a .3 or .7 it means:
.3 = Wasn’t as good the 2nd or last time I tried it
.7 = This was better the 2nd or last time I tried it
Dined here recently and it was wonderful! David greeted us and guided us through the menu and made excellent recommendations. Their pizza was delicious. Quality toppings, flavorful sauce, great crust! I also tried their wings, fries and Italian salad —— all delicious! I will be back!
Great pizza, large menu, and very nice inside. We had the BBQ Chicken and the Buffalo Chicken (guess we both were in a chicken mood)... both were excellent, fresh ingredients, great crust. We'll definitely order again. Oh and the garlic knots are legit!!
Seems they do a lot of takeout as well.
Highly recommend.
I'm from New Jersey so to me, pizza is almost as important as air 😂 I have been here probably 10 times already and it's been amazing each time. I haven't had anything that I haven't liked and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. We know some by name like the waitress Brooklyn who's always has a smile on her face or ryan who I think is the manager, goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The pizza is amazing.. don't believe me? Try it for yourself.
They lost a star because the pizza slice was underwhelming. Spinach, onion, and jalapeno. The crust was very good, but the toppings need more time to crisp up.
The calzone, on the other hand, was so amazingly good I'd go back just for that.
Lovely customer service and a open dining area with outside sitting area
We love this place! We’ve dined here twice and will keep coming back. Top notch wings, great pizza (we get it crispy), tasty desserts (lemon cake and cheesecake)… I also like the mango iced tea. Kids meals come with a cute little sundae at the end and kids eat free Wed/Sat. Service has always been great, too. Definitely a “go-to” spot.
We've been here one time before we moved to San Tan. we used to live close by and didn't notice this gem until right before we moved. Now, every time we are around or are feeling like a 5 star piece of pizza, we come to NYPD. Every time we come here, we are treated like family. My wife is from jersey, so we are always on the hunt for good new york/jersey style pizza, and we definitely found it.
This place never falls short of great pizza.
NYPD is an excellent small chain. Top notch pizza sauce flavor, excellent crust and lots of cheesy goodness. Their sausage topping is one of the best available anywhere. Their cheese knots are also very good. The pricing is higher than many NY styled pizzeria joints, but the consistency of flavor and excellent results each time keep me coming back.
I've never come to NYPD and been disappointed in the taste or temperature of a pizza. I have not ventured out to try other items on their menu, so you are on your own if you veer away from the pizza pies. My favorite selection is the Brooklyn Family, which features pepperoni, sausage, and basil on a healthy bed of cheese. "Healthy" in that context is a euphemism for "a lot". :)
Anyways, this location is usually without a wait and while the preparation of the pizza can take 25 minutes, having a garlic cheese knot order to wait is an excellent choice
The food was good but the service was sub par...
Only 3 tables after lunch/before dinner rush and service is SUPER SLOW!!! Kitchen focus was apparently on to go orders as they were cranking them out while we waited over 35 minutes to get 2 simple orders of spaghetti and a single my za pizza.
Focus more on the in person customers and it could have been 5 stars.
First time eating here. The pizza dough is killer! I wasn't a fan of the wing sauce but the calzone so made up for it. Just wow. We will definitely be back for that.
Not bad. However, I was expecting flimsy crust, the sauce, cheese, and toppings, and even the crust was really good. I'm not complaining at all. But if there was a way I could order a good flimsy, greasy peice of pepperoni pizza....I would order that. The pizza had a perfectly crusted bottom, again, not complaining, but I like the big greasy slice... I don't often eat pizza, but when I do, I want it count. I have other pizza reviews FROM NY on my profile that can show you what I mean.
Love the pizza it wasn't spicy like most places I've been to. The house salad was good. good employees the price was alil high but worth it.
We come to this location often, never had too many issues worth posting about, but recently we had an odd experience. They updated their menus, so you now have to ask about the specials - but what they didnt bother to mention, even to their servers, is that the prices have gone up on their specials.
The location itself is never TOO busy, which is nice because you dont feel like you have to yell or fight for service attention. The main thing I'd like to see improve is just a standard for what comes with appetizers. We get the bruschetta, and it's hit and miss whether or not it comes with balsamic reduction.
Servers are nice, never too long of a wait. Only a handful of full booths, the rest is free tables and a few half booth set ups. Very small bar. One TV for anyone wanting to watch sports, and its shoved into a high corner at the bar. Not your go to spot for sports by any means.
We got a pizza and cheese garlic knots. The fact that Alfredo is an option on the side of the garlic knots is genius. The pizza was so good and reheated amazing with the leftovers we took home.
