Cast Iron Tavern is AMAZING. This restaurant treated us with the kindest service and delivered us delicious food with my favorite being Short Rib Shepard's Pie. The Mac 'N, Cheese is SO DELICIOUS. I couldn't believe it. I say this honestly, their mac n cheese is the best that I have ever tasted. I will definitely be back and would recommend this place to my closest friends and family.
We liked this place very much. It was a good way to wind dowm after a half day of touring Golden. My brother had one of his all time favorite Mac and cheese. I ordered a Beet and Pear salad. I was expecting those two things on a plate with dressing, cheese and a garnish, but it turned out it was a green salad WITH beet and Pear slices. It as delicious, though. The stain glass window is a staple of the decor, but the wooden walls give it a fancy barn feel. I didn't like the fact that they had TVs everywhere playing different channels in every single one. It was distracting to me, but then again some people may love that. So, 5 stars.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Cast Iron Taveren! The appetizers, drinks, entrees, staff and views were outstanding! They have a terrific menu to choose from.
I had the chicken and mashed with vegetables! Excellent. The boiled shrimp are very tasty and the cocktail sauce is yum. Also tried the wings. Just ask for extra crispy. They were great! Kayleen our bartender was awesome, enjoyed the margarita! Stephanie was very accommodating. I suggest reservations as this place is a hot spot! Going back to try the hamburgers!
Made to order dishes. Not your typical bar food. Decedent options as well as healthy choices to eat and a good selection of brews on tap as well as cocktails. This locally owned and operated tavern is a great option for a tasty meal, a quick bite or a snack during game time or a local stop after a nearby hike. Service is typically fast and friendly. Ample indoor seating and outdoor picnic seating with decent foothill views, dog friendly patio. Give it a go, I think you may like it!
First time for dinner, with attentive service, and food. Saturday is prime beef special and it's was very good. We also had bacon salad and baguette Cristina with pullwd beef. And rye Whiskey on rock. Great place
Our most recent visit was great. We're huge fans of the pesto deviled eggs, candied bacon, and sweet potato fries.
On previous visits, I found the burgers to be disappointing. The one I got didn't have much texture. It just felt mushy. The bun put up more resistance than the burger each tube I took a bite. I also got their signature cast iron steak once. It was a baseball cut, which needs a different cooking technique. I ordered it medium, and mine was tough on the outside (not the good kind of crust) but practically raw in the center. There was a lot of white, non-rendered fat.
Went over to Cast Iron Tavern after a day of White Water Rafting. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The food was very good and big portion sizes. We went with a group of three and all three of us had to go boxes. My meal did come out wrong initially but they were quick to get it fixed for me. Our server was okay but could have been more attentive (hence why only four stars).
