My wife and I have eaten in restaurants all over Europe and the USA and rate The Village Steakhouse and Pub as the best place to eat in the Goldsboro area. It manages to be quaint and friendly, but still serve excellent food. We love the extensive salad bar and have not found a single thing on the menu the we did not savor. I normally do not eat desert, but can not resist the hot berry tart with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, mmmm.

One of the best in Goldsboro. Interesting setting in what looks an older house. Professional service. Complementary bread, and salad bar with a grilled entree. The salad bar could use some alternative greens to lettuce, such as spinach.
Delicious steak and fish. Tender prime rib. Prices are reasonable for the food and service quality. This is one of the nicest restaurants in Goldsboro.
Salad bar was clean and fresh, usually 'buffet' style settings creep me out, too many germs etc, but I actually ate at this one. My husband ordered the sirloin and it was cooked exactly to his asking, I ordered the prime rib and it was exactly medium rare and delicious! The steak fries were nicely done as well. The staff seemed pleasant and our server Amy was nice and attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Goldsboro area looking to get away from the 'chain' restaurants that this town only has to offer.

Nice place for dinner but because it's so far out of town I always forget about it! When I do remember, it is a good dining experience.
The Village Steakhouse is always an amazing place to get a quick and quiet dinner by yourself with a loved one or with the family. The service is always great and the food leaves the kitchen as it should. if you like a salad bar the pristine bar they offer is worth the trip alone, along with their hand-cut steaks ,and fresh pasta's.
My husband and I enjoyed a steak dinner here for our 26th wedding anniversary. We were extremely pleased with the food, service and price. The menu provided a nice variety of appetizers and entrees. Salad bar was self-serve, well stocked. Hannah did an awesome job keeping an eye on us. We were too full for dessert, but the dessert menu looked delicious and reasonably priced as well. We will for sure go back!

"Don't judge a book by its cover". Fine Dining at its best! Very, Very Good! Perfect Sirloin, fresh salad bar, steamed broccoli, fresh bread, fried mozzarella! Our friend still raves about a particular pasta sauce here as being the best he has had. It does not look like a fine dinning place from outside. You will think that you are in the wrong place. The lettering is on the front porch windows(and the signs by the hiway) to let you know that your at the correct building. On the inside it is a pleasant atmosphere in the dining room, with a fire place. We were in downtown Goldsboro, but it did not show up on the Google restaurant search results, but it is a fairly short drive out of town. They have had issues with getting it to list, hence why I am leaving a review. This is our second visit here. We have high expectations and they have exceeded our expectations each time. If I remember correctly they don't accept checks. The staff were attentive and friendly. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. The detailed menu with prices is here on Google. We have been to many fine dining establishments and the food here is better than most. Many Awards are posted on the wall. United Way of Wayne County... Voted Best: Hometown Favorites, Special Occasion Dinner, for multiple years. This is where the locals go. If you are seeking the best food, and aren't overly concerned about the building, I highly recommend it! (BTW,,, when you leave it is easy to not see the elevated opposite side of the highway, especially at night,,, and they DON'T have a ONE -WAY SIGN... So make sure that you ONLY TURN RIGHT when you pull out on the highway. You can make a U-Turn in 300 yards if you are heading back towards Goldsboro.). Enjoy!
Prime Rib was delicious and the Salad Bar is nice. We didn't have reservations but there was a place at the bar that was available. We'll be going there more often.
