Great place to grab some food and a drink! Great Location downtown. Walking distance to everything. The food is just phenomenal. The cheese curds are to die for! I have never had a bad experience there ever! Highly recommended!
We were there on July 15th. We were walking by going to the Grand National Convention for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. It had that they had award winning ribs. My husband loves ribs!! And they did not disappoint!!! I don't usually take pictures of my food but they looked so good that I did. I posted it on Facebook and had friends ask where we were and if it was in within walking distance. They came down just as we were leaving. But I went back in with them for an Arnold Palmer. The fries were awesome but really didn't care for the coleslaw. It needed a but more zip. Our first waitress was awesome!!! I'm sorry I didn't get her name. The second waitress was ok but never came back and ask for drink refills. But in her defense, the place was filling up fast. We are coming back to Grand Rapids on Wednesday and hope to stop back in before we leave on Friday!!
My wife and I were just walking past this place when we decided to stop in for dinner and some cocktails. The outside looked ok, but the inside was really cool. We ordered the California pizza, which was different but very good. Our waitress Lisa was fantastic! Excellent service, quick witted, and just knew what she was doing. I was so impressed that I asked her how long she had been working there. She said 7 yrs, and she couldn't say enough how much she enjoyed what she did and how awesome she was treated there. She said that mostly everyone there has been there a long time, and gave us a history lesson of the place. Hearing her passion spoke volumes of this place to me. If weren't leaving the next day we would have been back! However, this will be def one of our stops next time! Great job Z's and thank you Lisa!!
Came here after a concert, Jessica was one of the absolute best servers any of us have had, food was great, BBQ sauce was epic! Can’t wait to return!
I recently proposed and decided to choose Z's for the after party. We had a large group of friends and family. The service was amazing even though they were very busy. Our server even bought my fiancé and I a shot!! Wonderful environment and food. Thank you very much for making our fantastic night even better ��

I liked the environment... casual and warm. Prices were good for being a "downtown spot." I paid $11 for a huge pulled pork sandwich... I had to bring half of it home I couldn't finish it. I liked the TVs as well... I can catch up on my favorite game while enjoying a nice lunch. I'll be back!
The sevice was awesome the food I was a little disappointed but still awsome we love that place I was not paying attention I thought it was taco meat there was way to much shredded beef on the nachos love the down town life great place to take friends to thanks so much Z's for awsome time

We like the food and atmosphere at Z's. We went in for an appetizer and drinks while attending Art Prize. We waited quite awhile this time for our appetizer (Nachos) which we did hear our server go ask about them. We were in relaxation mode so it was okay this time and actually it was the first time we have had this happen at Z's - thus we still would rate it a 5. Our server was great!!!
Had my work going away party here last night. My favorite bar. We had a large group that was a little loud and our waitress was awesome and patient and as always the food and drinks were amazing!
Service was excellent. Great selection of beers on tap and the appetizers the waitress suggested were delicious.

Last night, I stumbled upon a charming little bar in a quiet village, and I couldn't resist the urge to write a review about my experience at Z's. Despite my initial intention to have a quick whiskey and coke and get some sleep for work the next day, I ended up having a wonderful time that I just had to share.
Upon entering Z's, I was immediately struck by the inviting atmosphere. The cozy dim lighting, comfortable seating, and the soft hum of conversations created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing evening. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, were the incredible bartendresses who took care of us.
Our friendly bartender, a knowledgeable and delightful gal, not only mixed a fantastic whiskey and coke but also went the extra mile to ensure we had a memorable time. She regularly checked in on us, making us feel right at home. Her passion for the job and dedication to customer satisfaction were evident in every interaction we had with her.
What made this visit even more enjoyable was her willingness to share some insider tips about the village. She told us about some cool places to visit, local events, and even recommended some must-try dishes in town. It felt like she genuinely cared about making our experience in the village more enriching, and I'm incredibly grateful for that.
The combination of great drinks, an inviting atmosphere, and the wonderful bartendresses made me wish I could have spent more time in this charming village. Z's Bar is truly a hidden gem that captures the essence of hospitality, and I highly recommend anyone passing through to stop by and soak in the delightful atmosphere. This place is a landmark classic. We've been coming here since it opened its doors in the 80s. Always good food, great atmosphere and courteous staff. They have Sunday specials, which currently feature an $8 burger. While other places around town close early and are not open on Sundays, Zs is open 7 days a week and has late hours. Perfect place in case you want to grab a drink or food after a game or show. It's a convenient walk a few steps off the sky bridge too!
Awesome atmosphere. Great food, the Buffalo egg rolls were out of this world and we had the Flatbread Supreme pizza also amazing. Our server was outstanding she was on point and very attentive. It was a great date night place. My girlfriend and I had a great time here.
I had the Ribs which did not disappoint, the meat was tender and fell off the bone the BBQ sauce was great. The Wife had the Fish tacos which was another hit and our friends had a pizza that they were happy with. We stopped in before seeing the Doobie Brothers at the Van Andel the waitress and staff were great as well as the patrons, will definitely stop in again when in the area.
Great casual bar in Grand Rapids. It’s nothing new, which means it’s well known as a good spot and can get busy. They have a full bar as well as a wide selection of beers and other beverages. Their food is surprisingly good, like should-be-a-restaurant-and-not-a-bar good! The nachos are huge and perfectly stacked. Their pizzas have delicious crusts with a ton of toppings. You won’t be disappointed by going here—that is unless you can’t find a seat.
I gotta say one of the funnest times I’ve had during my GR visit. The place was packed but the bar is huge so drinks came pretty quickly. The karaoke was fun even from the backside of the room where you can see the big tv displaying the lyrics. I would definitely come back to Z’s.
I enjoyed this place, a close walk from the hotel. The atmosphere was great along with the service. They had a nice beverage selection and were willing to make a special requested mixed drink. I will come back here for the atmosphere and service anyday.
If you are need a place to go before you go to Van Andel Arena. This is the best place. Pizza is mouthwatering. So convenient and the best spot if you need to go to a concert/ hockey game later. Its close to some lime scooters so if you are in a rush its great
Overall, this was a great place! I sat at the bar, didn't even take a min before getting a menu & asked what I'd like to drink.
I received my ribs a little over 10 min after I ordered, and after being told it was the best rib spot around, by a local; he wasn't lying! 🤌 I will definitely be back!

Be aware of strong arm begging if you're on foot at night in the area.
We ate here with our 2 runners who ran the GR Marathon. They needed comfy chairs, food, and hydration. This was perfect!
Beyond happy to have come across this priceless gem! On my birthday, Z's for Zorina! Too great. I got a shirt too. Their pizza, could have eaten 2 it was so delicious! Supreme!
We had a thin crust meat lovers pizza that was great! Atmosphere was a 10, Karaoke was getting ready to start when we left, but I'm certain it was a great time!
Food was very tasty and our server Alysha was fantabulous! Inner decor was nice too, it’s perfect for almost every occasion!
