They didn't seem too busy at 9:30am on a Saturday when we showed up, but there was a decent amount of snow on the ground. They got much busier in the 45 minutes we were there. We were greeted immediately and seated, the server took our orders quickly and was extremely friendly.
The prices were a little higher than standard Coney prices but the breakfast was MUCH better than standard Coney fare. I would say the food is totally worth the price. The corned beef was long shreds which you could tell was fresh and delicious. Servings were large. Eggs were cooked perfectly to order. Coffee was good. Toast was way above average and thick cut slices.
I would definitely come back for breakfast again if I am in the area. Check this place out, it is great!
Finsh and Chips was delicious, bacon is awesome, milkshake is yummy !! And yeah that while wheat toast was perfect, amazing place. Waitress was so nice.
Fantastic food, decent prices, and my server, Felipe was great. This is NOT your average Coney place. Oh, and their English muffin toast? So good, I am on my way to buy some at Van's Pastry Shop. Do yourself a flavor and try Grand Coney TODAY!
Short trip to Grand Rapids and found this gem. Aside from the GREAT service the food is fantastic! I got the Coney Detroit style yesterday and think it might be the best Coney I've had. Today is the Spicy Redneck and think it's better than the Coney! It's really a toss up.
The chili dogs here were fantastic! The junkyard and the Flint both have a tremendous amount of toppings that just really work together. My only complaint is that the onion rings were a bit undercooked (still had raw batter) and the place was clearly understaffed even though they had half the seating area closed. The servers need more help and that would have helped with the wait at this small place. This is definitely a place I will go back too and enjoy those tasty dogs.
Nothing to complain about food wise but also won’t blow you away. If you’re a Cincinnati resident it’s not like skyline, much more like normal chili. Wait staff was nice and it was clean. Once I ordered it came out pretty quickly.
We discovered this place while on vacation and have eaten there twice now. Both times the servers were very warm and friendly and the food was top notch for what it is, which is classic Michigan diner food. Koegel's hot dogs with coney sauce is a taste of my childhood and one that Grand Coney does to perfection. Excellent Greek salads too.
Very clean looking from the front. Food was excellent, and only took a couple of minutes (it's only hot dogs I know). The staff was friendly and pleasant, even offered me a drink while I waited on my Togo order, even though they had to know it would be out as soon as I sat down.
An excellent location for consistent comfort food; breakfasts are my all-time faves!
A great morning stop for me. Denise is always there with a friendly smile, quick service and above par food. I highly recommend giving it a try.
