The simple bare bones set up leaves the focus on their beer and the game. The staff are all super friendly making you feel like family from the start. Bring your own food or have it delivered and try the sin bin stout it is the best in the area.
My wife and I really like this place. If you're a hockey fan (particularly the Blackhawks), this is a no-brainer to become a frequent stop for you. But even if you're a casual fan like myself (or a ~gulp~ Blues fan like myself), there's plenty to like here. The beer is really delicious, particularly the Miracle On Ice beer that they sometimes have on tap. The staff is also super accommodating - both times we've been here, we've brought in pizza from other restaurants and the staff have treated us as if we bought the food there, giving us plates and forks and napkins and taking care of our trash. This was not expected, but I think it really exemplifies the level of care that goes into making the experience a great one.

Great place to hang out and enjoy a beer (or two or three...). Very welcoming atmosphere. The beer names are all cleverly related to hockey culture (hence the brewery name), but this is more than just a whimsical idea. The beers are well done and legit. My wife and I tried a few different styles and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. Can't wait to go back and looking forward to their continued growth in the area

The owners are friendly. The Red Line ale is delicious. They keep the popcorn coming. You can bring outside food in. And... L&M Experience is great to listen to!
My favorite type of beer is stout! And light the lamp has an amazing stout!!

Had a wonderful experience at Light the Lamp. Beer was cold and a nice selection. Food was wonderful. Our bartender Jesse took very good care of us and greeted every person that came in the establishment and instructed on what to do. We will be back!!! Thanks for the great lunch today
Stopped in for a burger and a beer , decided on an order of wings to wash it down.
Everything was excellent. The strawberry blonde was amazing, wings were grade a, perfectly cooked . Personal preference, I like them sauced , but the sauce was good,
Burger and asparagus were awesome , was a bit worried when I saw how big the asparagus was , as usually it’s undercooked that large at most places , but they nailed it , and the bartender was great.
No complaints , will be back.
We simply love this place. This is always our destination, a mid stop during our 50 mile bike ride. They have a patio outside where you can order food and beers using a convenient application. What I like is that they always have a meatless options such a jack fruit tacos for example. Selection of beers is pretty good and the servers are awesome. I must admit they have one of the best sweet potato fries ever :) If you are visiting Grayslake and like beers Light The Lamp Brewery is definitely worth a visit!!
Been here twice now and the brewery has been great both times. I have tried a about 10 of their beers now and I have enjoyed all of them. The staff has always been good and the food has been even better. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The Schnitzel and the burgers have impressed when we have gone in the past.
Successful Grayslake brewery, they moved into this larger location a few years ago from a half block North. Lots of drinkable beers on tap, AND food!
I wish I could give them 10 Stars! Their vegan food was so delicious! I ordered the jackfruit tacos and my man ordered the impossible burger. Both dishes were bursting with flavor! I did not expect it to be so good. Please never get rid of your vegan options! You are one of the few non vegan restaurants who got it right!
Incredible service from a great fun waiter. The Rueben and Steak Sandwiches were delicious as well as the Red Line Amber Ale. WOW!
A brewpub experience without all of the fake hype. Well worth a stop if you're into these type of places!
The food was great as anticipated, and they do an amazing replication of tech cinnamon butter Form Texas Roadhouse to go with the pretzel.
I'm not really a fan of the system they have in place for ordering, due to the fact that you have to order water for yourself each time you want a refill. Thankfully when you put in the order they come pretty quick but I can imagine when that place gets full it's a nightmare to stay topped off.
All in all, pretty fun! Not necessarily a craft beer lover's paradise, but I can assure you there's nothing like this within 20 miles.
Listen - I refuse to give this place any less than 5 stars because it’s a top 5 kitchen in Lake County and i want them to stay busy. Anyway - the last few times I’ve been in, the service has been interesting. There is zero energy and enthusiasm - I felt like a burden on my bartender, and the chit chat between the wait staff was unavoidable.
Give them a water cooler and a pep talk.
Great food, relaxing atmosphere, very nice place for a meal/drink and a chat.
