Very nice place! Had the Cajun catfish and what amounts to a sampler platter. Very nice full flavored food. The andouille used in the dishes is fabulous! I would have like a bit more or a seafood/shrimp base in the gumbo--but that's just a personal preference. I would have also liked a more visionary side dish with the catfish special. But overall it was very pleasurable. And who doesn't like Alison Krause?
This is a beautiful venue. :) The food and beer are excellent too! I've had the beans and rice, which was absolutely delicious. And...I've had a very yummy burger too. YUM :) The porter on tap is just perfect with the great food and music.
We stopped in for dinner on a April 27th & had the most amazing time. The staff was fantastic, the food was perfect & the music (Jazz) incredible & we can't stop talking about. Without a doubt GB's finest
I've been to Blue Opus three times -- late December, January and February. All three times the food (sandwiches and jambalaya) was terrific! They were busy, but when a server came by the table, or I got a server's attention about something, he/she responded in a reasonable amount of time. Friends from 5.5 hours away who were with me in January have asked about possibly going again the next time in town -- they were impressed with the food and music (Third Degree). When I was there during the dinner hours in January and February, their sound man did a great job making sure the music didn't get too loud (while at the same time letting the band do its thing). Plug for the bands I saw: Brass Differential -- terrific vocalists and instrumentalists. Lots of fun. Watch for them on the Events list. Third Degree (Unabashed disclaimer: I know these six high school kids and their teacher/mentor) -- very talented musicians and vocalists (just turned 16- to just turned 18-year-olds plus a teacher) . Very confident kids playing multiple instruments with terrific vocals/harmonies and great stage presence and showmanship. Wide range of music from classic rock to Charlie Daniels (yes, they have a pret-ty good violinist) to Bruno Mars and Lady Antebellum. Though not on their events list as yet, I understand they will be playing from 5-8 PM on St. Pat's Day. If you like music and pull for kids like I do, stop in and see them. I wouldn't be writing this if I wasn't confident you would be impressed and that it wouldn't be worth your time. No cover charge at Blue Opus, but I bet you'll be leaving a few bucks in the tip can for them.
The food was amazing, our waiter was amazing, the music was amazing. This place is absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to go back!
Stopped in for dinner, and some live music
Was impressed by the Jambalaya - most of the time in WI we see kielbasa passed off as Andouille - but these guys and gals got it right. Splash in a little okra and we could have been in the big easy!
The performance was solid and after watching the staff and management take care of the customers, with a high attention to detail and learning about what they are all about - we learned we have discovered a place with big city events, high quality service and good food - a real gem in Green Bay.
We'll be back, a lot!
Best New Orleans bar and restaurant in Wisconsin. Live jazz nearly every night. You will be delighted and surprised. Gumbo to die for, phenomenal atmosphere. A real gem.
My first time at Blue Opus was last week Saturday eve. Tonight makes my third visit. Food is delicious! Music is awesome! Staff is so welcoming and helpful. Loving your place, which is fast becoming my place.
I love this place, the best gumbo and music, my boyfriend and I go to the Blue Opus every chance we get
Great food and atmosphere and friendly owner/staff! As a New Orleans native, I give two 👍🏼👍🏼 I will be back!
Love this place! Been here several times! Food is great! Nice music variety, and lots of it! Very friendly people! Green Bay’s latest place to be!
This place is awesome all around. Staff, food, atmosphere, live music! They have everything for a perfect night out!
Somewhat small menu, but the food is excellent and portion sizes are very generous. The times I've been here there was some live entertainment, which was excellent. They also have a few board/card games for entertainment as well. The service is great too! Overall a nice atmosphere and good location to hang out.
The place really gets a New Orleans feel to it when the bands start playing. I didn’t get a chance to try the food but it looked good. The place seems to attract an older crowd, most likely because of the brass jazz music.
Stopped for dinner prior to going to breakout room next door. The food, music, and atmosphere were fantastic. Jambalaya was fantastic! I wish this place much success and we will be back for sure.
This is my favorite restaurant in Green Bay. Live music constantly, great Cajun/creole food made with love and care. The friendliest staff you could ask for!
