I happened to be in the area and saw Pete's Gourmet BBQ. Being a BBQ lover, I decided to try it.
I had the pulled pork sandwich with cucumber salad. Very good and flavorful.
I like that they don't put sauce on it since they have a sauce bar with a nice selection of sauces.
Stopped in for the first time today to see what Pete’s BBQ is all about. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by Pete, the man himself. Pete’s is warm, friendly and inviting. His spiel on his menu was definitely the best :) Their baby back ribs are definitely the best I’ve had in the area! The collard greens were on point to say the least, the fried Mac & cheese was OUTSTANDING , and you definitely have to try the fresh squeezed lemonade. You will not be disappointed! I absolutely recommend to anyone that you stop in, say hello and stay for the ribs! Thanks Pete! We shall be back!!
Charming little restaurant whose owners are extremely friendly and with huge portions. The fried Mac and Cheese is a must. Choice of sauces complemented the meal and took it to the lick your fingers level. Great option for take home on a Friday night when you don't want to cook.
What an unexpected treat! This is a must visit if your in the area.
While walking up to the door... a neighboring business owner sees us and says.."You guys going to Pete's? Make sure you get the Mac N Cheese...it's the bomb" This is a great sign for my secret Mac n Cheese obsession...lol..thank God it's cheat day. 😋
Pete's restaurant comes across as your average good looking bbq joint from the outside. But the moment you walk in the door you know it's anything but average. The smell of slow cooking, spices and kitchen love hit you like a memory of a perfect family dinner.
Pete's behind the counter and greets you with a warm hello making sure you know he's seen you and is ready to serve you his finest fresh grub.
My wife and I order two rib combos and of course the ... FRIEEEEED MAC N CHEESE? Nobody said it was fried..I nearly loose my mind 🤯 (Having just recently traveled through North and South Carolina) we are ready to put his Gourmet BBQ to the test.
My baby backs were beyond perfect, fall off the bone, flavor packed morsels of awesomeness. The fried Mac n cheese was indeed the bomb 💣 and my potatoe salad was pretty great too. My combo second half was chicken and it was some of the best I've had. My wife's spare ribs were equally as fantastic. They also make the sauces in house..all packed with depth and flavor.
Pete comes over to check in and we compliment him on his food, the overall ambiance and the wonderful fragrent smell smacking us over and over from the kitchen. He's humble but you can see our opinion means the world to him as all true Chefs do. You can tell he's great at what he does and loves making people happy.
Overall one of my favorite BBQ experiences for a small but large flavored local spot. I strongly encourage you to stop in....and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO ORDER SOME SWEET POTATOE PECAN PIE...its ridiculously perfect.
The pulled pork and ribs were so tender and delicious. Even though the BBQ sauce was excellent, none is needed for the meat. The baked beans, deep fried corn on the cob were also amazing. And the collard greens are the best I have ever had. You can tell that the food is all fresh and homemade. We will definitely be returning and telling everyone we know to visit for an exceptional meal. In addition to the great food, the owners are very friendly and talented. And I absolutely love the decor.
I’ve been here twice. Takeout. Very pleasant staff each time. Clean. Ample seating. A hidden gem. Food is insanely good. I tried the pasta bbq dish. Delish. Next I tried the chick and rib combo dinner. Collards and baked beans. The fried mac is good too. BBQ sauce is vinegar based and good. The meat was amazingly tender and I enjoyed it immensely. I’ll def be back to dine inside and have something different.
I found this place by mistake and before I entered I had to read the reviews online to see what it was about. Overall, the reviews had amazing reviews.
I entered the restaurant and it did not have really anyone in there. However, I was not there during lunch or dinner time either. While inside I was greeted and given advice about what to order. We tried two different things and had different items to get a wide variety of what they offer. The chicken and ribs were extremely juicy. The potato salad was the right consistency. I did try the Fried Mac n Cheese, which is the big bread looking item. For me, it was too much and too big. I did learn it is there number 1 seller for sides though, so to each is there own. The price was probably a little more than I would have liked to pay, but the food was good.
If you asked me if I would return, I would. It is different than PA BBQ, which was nice and refreshing to find somewhere else to eat.
Holy smokes! The BBQ is so good, it's on fire! Pete the owner is a such a great person. He sat down with us and had a great experience and conversation. The place is cute and cozy. Definitely felt like family here, the staff is superb. The decor was put in by Pete himself. He obviously multi-faceted man. Proprietor, chef, and great host! Definitely come by and stuff yourself! Can't go wrong!
