Ate here for the first time on March 10 and I was not disappointed. Without a doubt the best burger I have ever had! Everything was phenomenal..the bacon was cooked to perfection, which is hard to find at many burger places. And even though I ordered well done it was cooked perfectly and still juicy. The onion rings and sweet potato fries were also superb. I cannot wait to return when I am in the area again. I will be jonesing for your burger until then :-)

It’s been a really long time since I had such a good burger! Someone finally knows what medium rare is!! The beer selection is fantastic, (FYI I think it could be colder. Ice cold beer is my favorite!) Parking is not easy, but it’s worth it. Come on a Tuesday before 6:30 and maybe you won’t have a long wait!!
I do believe this was the best burger I have ever eaten. Definitely recommend eating here if you get the chance.
Hops was great! Huge selection on tap and otherwise, food is delicious (and they cater to so many dietary needs), and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Love this place!
Great food. I got the North Carolinian burger and the staff didn’t mind subbing out a topping for something else. Burger was cooked to my request and tasted great. Only critique is that there was a longish wait. Considering it was Father’s Day, that was expected regardless of where we ate.
Visiting from Rhode Island and have wanted to stop here for drinks and lunch on previous visits. Finally got to this time and we were not disappointed! Burger was top notch and great beer selection. Weis was a great bartender with lots of suggestions and personality! Hope to visit again and stop in for another treat!
Small neighborhood atmosphere and friendly, welcoming service.
World class burger!
Full array of craft draft and bottled beer.
We'll be back when I come back to town.
Hops has never disappointed!!! I have never had anything except for the Spicy Goat, but that’s all I ever want! It is amazing! Everything is top notch there! Thank you and I hope y’all never go anywhere!
Im from Cali visiting for work and this place hands down was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Highly recommended for everyone's tastebuds.
We had the best burger ever! Great atmosphere and the staff was awesome! Will definitely be back!
One of the best, if not the best, burgers I've ever had. Service was great also. Savannah was awesome.
This is the place for great burgers and service! Highly recommend it!!!!
Super place to chill... good food, beer, people, and attendants...
AWESOME. Has to be the best burger in Greensboro. Loved the Bisson . Created my own burger but there are so many I want to and will try them all . Small place great food, beer, and service was great. Thanks.
This place is amazing! We had the mad haddock with fries. It was so yummy I'll be going back tomorrow. The food was hot, servers were friendly. Definitely a must visit when in Greensboro.
Complicated to review but here it goes. Burgers are creative, lots of options and protein choices. Meat is tasty well cooked and seasoned. Appetizers are interesting, polite service and very nice local beer selection. However, there is no way it's worth an hour wait so go early or at off times. In addition, fries not not fresh cut and are being way over fried totally ruining the effect of the creative toppings. Worth a visit but not if you have to wait for it.
Great burgers. Usually a long wait to get a table and the restaurant can be a little cold as some of the tables are directly below air ducts. The servers are friendly and the options are varied and plentiful
An outstanding burger. Some great sounding burgers, but as this was my first visit I went with the classic to get a real sense of the burger itself. Good grind. Flavorful. Cooked as requested. Fries tasty and crisp. One of the best I have had. Great service. Good beer selection too. Can't wait to go back and try one of different loaded burgers.
Loved this place! The patio is really nice and the service was great. I got the mushroom/cauliflower veggie burger and it was really good despite the fact that it was messy to eat. The fries were top notch and they had lots of local beers on draft. Definitely recommend!
Now that's a great Burger!!!!! Everything is so fresh. I had the college blue burger the horseradish sauce is so good I dipped my fries in it wow what a great lunch.
Excellent hamburger cooked on a flat griddle for that crispy charred outside. Lot of choices for fries and toppings for the burgers. Really good local beer selection just tops it off.
They are awesome!!!!!! The burger was the business!!!!! I'm back in Texas and still crave, smell, and taste their burgers and I haven't been there in close to 8 months now. They should open up shop in Texas👍🏾!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I noticed first was the way they made the pretzel bun. Everyone knows what that looks like right? A regular bun made with pretzel dough with some salt on top. Regular. Standard. But this pretzel bun came out as an actual pretzel, twisted and everything. Thinking on it, this is the best way to receive a pretzel bun. It just makes sense. Taking the first bite I noticed the great amount of pimento cheese that was on the perfectly cooked rare burger. A lot of places melt the pimento cheese on the burger as it cooks, but I actually prefer it the way Hops presented it, just as a cold dollop on top. There were two thick and floppy pieces of bacon that overflowed off the patty, but the lettuce was flat and not crisp and felt like an afterthought.
This is a spectacular burger joint. And it is a joint, more bar than restaurant. However, I saw plenty of kids at the outside tables, so it must be family friendly as well. If you reading this stop and go get one of the best burgers you'll ever have. 'Nuff said...
Excellent beer selection, burgers and dessert.
If you get all three it's a good night but will definitely hurt the next day.
Went here so much my cholesterol went up, so now just get the chicken which is always nicely cooked. Everything on the menu is amazing, but I usually roll with the pickle back. Which I customize but won't say how I customize it cause it's like having the crabby patty formula. Top secret.
Fries selection is creative and delicious. Served in a cute little basket which somehow makes me feel better about eating the fries.
Best vegetarian burger, period.. I have never had such a delicious vegetarian burger as the 'nutty patty' this place makes. It doesn't try to be meat, and it's not overtly black bean, either. It's crunchy and savory and has fun things like sunflower seeds throughout. My carnivore fiance even steals bites because he thinks it is so good! If you're a vegetarian looking for something different and delicious, definitely try the Carolina Goat with no bacon, on a nutty patty. I'm salivating just thinking about it :P
Youthful vibe, good waitstaff, huge burgers, priced right. Hops Burger Bar technically may not be a college hangout, but it has that vibe.
On a Friday night, there was a 45-minute wait, but we found seats at the bar (thanks to a nice guy who gave up one of his party's seats) and ate there.
The burgers are HUGE, and they come with very good regular fries or sweet potato fries. I had the Classic with regular fries (about $8), and my wife had the Cuban Cow with sweet potato fries.
With two burgers and fries, an appetizer of red onion rings (just so-so, a bit greasy) and a total of three craft beer drafts, our meal came to just $39 (plus My Usual Generous Tip) -- a real bargain.
The waitstaff was really on top of things, and the crowd seemed happy to be there.
I'd definitely go back.
I could actually cry because their burgers are so good. Brought me to my knees. Hands down best veggie burger I have ever had. Nutty Patty is the way to go. This, coming from a beef lover.
The best burger in Greensboro. Hands down... this is the best burger in Greensboro. Build your own burger and pick your own toppings - you can get a large or small beef burger, chicken, turkey, or three kinds of veggie burger. So delicious!
The feature with provolone mushrooms grit cake and sauce. Was awesome no words can say anymore. You have no taste buds if you do not like this place
Southern-Style Burger Joint Done Right. Plenty of burger joints around the country follow the formula of a two-page menu, a cornucopia of options with fries, customizable artisan toppings and craft beer. Hops Burger Bar executes this well and would easily be a stand-by if I lived in the area. Parking isn’t the most obvious, but there is plenty of space on the streets surrounding the restaurant. - -
One oddity about this establishment is the very wide/deep bar, but that doesn’t dampen the experience or quality of the food, which is delicious. Vegetarian options, both a southern-style veggie burger and a mushroom & cauliflower burger, compliment the certified Angus beef patties, in two different sizes. - -
There are a handful of appetizers, including wings, and even a few salads. Relatively limited seating, but event plenty of options with buns, including a pretzel roll or gluten free bun. I’m a fan!
Hops is the best burger I've ever had in Greensboro! Juicy patty, great toppings, and the perfect fries. Must try in my book
Best Burgers and Beer in Town!. Hops takes the title! Incredible burgers and the most expansive rotating draught list in Greensboro. If you are a beer geek this is the place for you! They don't have the largest list in Greensboro but they do have the most well put together list in the triad. The burgers are out of this world. If you want the freshest most flavorful beef, local produce and local dairy this is the place for you.
Some Things Should Be Inhaled. Met two of my friends here last night for a bite to eat and to catch up. Great crowd on a Monday evening and very laid back vibe. No appetizers here....straight in for the kill. Items enjoyed....
1- Diablo Burger but substituted grilled chicken. Not a problem, more than happy to accommodate my request. Pepper jack cheese ( my favorite ), jalapenos, grilled onions, guacamole and jalapeno bacon. This is where the inhaling occurred. It was absolutely delicious. Side salad.
2- The Hops Classic is your standard perfect go to hamburger. My friend ordered this along with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries are tossed in sugar and cinnamon and are absolutely to die for. Thank goodness for friends that will share. We lost contact with her as she too proceeded to inhale her burger.
3- The Angry Avocado was the third sandwich of choice. Funny when the server approached the table addressed our other friend by saying " angry avocado, on pretzel bun, hold the bacon". Apparently our friend had enjoyed this little delight more than once. lol. She had the parmesan truffle fries as a side and Holy Cow....yummy!!!!!!!!!!
Server was fantastic, friendly and well informed. Food was delicious, fresh and served hot.
Hops was recently voted by the Readers Choice in the local paper as Best Hamburger and also received recognition as runner up as Best New Restaurant. Keep up the great job and your accolades are well deserved.
Great gourmet burgers, the truffle oil and parmasean fries are the bomb! Frequently changing taps of craft beer and a friendly staff.
Went for lunch yesterday - great food and service. I loved the spicy goat burger and the fries I ordered. Food came out quickly and the waitress was very helpful when we asked questions in regards to the menu. I will be back.
Amazing burgers! Best in town! Gotta try the house pimento cheese and the truffle fries or buffalo fries!
Love this place! I've been twice, even brought out of town guest from Austin, TX - they raved about it afterwards! Great options, unique burgers, and very friendly staff!
It was a sad day when Spring Garden Bar and Pizzeria shuttered its doors, but Hops – same location, same owners – has all the makings of a perfectly satisfactory replacement. Spring Garden Pizzeria was known for raising the standard for bar food, and the emphasis on homemade food and quality ingredients has definitely carried over. The burgers are the marquee attraction here, and they leave diners with a plethora of options. You can get your burger sized six ounces or eight, try one of the default combinations or make your own, stick with beef or go vegetarian, etc. This variety extends to the fries, too: Hops has everything from sea-salted to sweet potato to truffle oil.
