TexMex Ain't So Bad. Not as authentic as some would like based on the unmuted complaints, but it is what it is - a primarily Tex-Mex restaurant that serves good versions of that cuisine. Know your restaurant and it will make you happy, Grasshopper.

The three locations in Greensboro are almost identical, with the exception that the piped in music is loudest at the Battleground location, competing with the traffic flow, I would guess. The music is a little loud, and the place is even noisier when crowded, but the food is solid, and all 3 locations are bright and clean, a good atmosphere for good food.

Each meal begins with the ubiquitous red salsa and chips, but upon request, they will also bring salsa verde (green for you gringos), which usually has a little more punch, while the chips remain unchanged. The service is always quick and friendly.

The Guacamole Regional which contains, tomato, cilantro, and lime juice, is a really nice version of this dip, and plenty of it for $6. The Ultimate Nachos are my favorite nachos - includes meat of choice, cheese, beans, lettuce, sour cream, and tomato, and again a nice portion for about $8. I also like the Carnitas Nacho, which has perfectly cooked cubes of pork, cheese, and pico de gallo, again about $8.

All the usual suspects are served here, and all are good - the Enchiladas Supreme (3 different enchiladaqs) and the Enchiladas Mexicanas ( 3 chicken enchiladas) are excellent. And all the burritos, especial the Monster Burrito, are nice as well. Most of these items will be in the $9 range. They offer the normal lunch combos in the $5 - $7 range. The rice and beans served here are typical, and I like them.

If you like well prepared, tasteful Tex-Mex dishes, you can find them here, but if you are looking for spiritual experience with "authentic" Mexican food, this may not be your place.
