The better place for banh mi. No longer living in Greensboro, I must now make periodic trips here for a sackful of banh mi. Sure, they're Laotian, but their sandwiches are great.
If you like extra-spicy stuff, be cautious how you ask with the papaya salad. I asked for "pretty spicy, but not extra-spicy" and received one of the few meals I've ever found too spicy to finish.
Prices, as with most banh mi shops, are CHEAP.
Hours are odd... They close at 5 each day, probably because most people wanting Vietnamese sandwiches don't want to hang around that shopping center when it's dark. But hey, the cops are there 24 hours a day, so what's the problem?

Don't let the location scare you away. 1 minute from Glenwood, 5 minutes from downtown GSO. Near Smith Homes, so what? Well worth the trip. Great cheap date (2 for under $20!), plus you'll have something to remember -- unlike most forgettable / regrettable suburbanized "Asian" food experiences. Get the Vietnamese coffee but drink it slow. Decor: Funky-fun souvenirs from Australia. Afterward, go down a few storefronts and food shop at Saigon. Or, you can support corporate America and eat at Denny's or Cracker Barrel, then shop at Whole Foods. Com'on, Greensboro -- support local!
