Not sure why this restaurant only has a 4.3 rating on Google - we certainly had a better experience than that.
We ate here twice during our stay at Promised Land State Park and the food was quite good. The restaurant was clean and our server was friendly and attentive. We mostly got appetizers - wings, waffle fries, pickle chips, flatbread - those types of things, but they were hot, fresh, and tasty. And if you’re a fan of dipping things in ranch dressing, theirs is homemade and excellent.
Fabulous restaurant off the beaten path. Beauty rustic decor, I had the cornish hen and it truly was cooked to perfection and the reduction was full of flavor. The skin of the hen was perfect and delicious. Even the veggies were cooked perfect not crunchy and not mushy.
Delicious food. Our server Catherine was wonderful - first visit and will return! Prime rib and Cornish hen were very good. (Fresh) vegetables side dish was a nice surprise as was the made in house pumpkin praline cheesecake!

The food was ok. The drinks were tasty. The service was kinda slow. But the staff seemed friendly. Visited during a weekend getaway to the Promised Land State Park and it was one of the closest options.
Absolutely a diamond in the ruf. The food is amazing and so good. We had the spinach and artichoke dip. The best I have ever had. Thr wings were done perfectly and the Cornish hen was fall off the bone good. I make it at home but damn this was amazing all around. Amazing service the girls there are so nice and friendly best all around.
Great meal in a relaxed and casual environment. Server was courteous and knowledgeable. Will most definitely return. We enjoyed the Thai peanut wings, coconut shrimp special, whiskey ribs special, and the Mac and cheese with bacon. Yum!
Went today for the 1st time. We arrived early (2:15PM) and the place was very quiet.
The atmosphere was cosy and we were seated by a lovely lady who was to also be our waitress. She was attentive without being overbearing.
Service was nicely paced.
We received out appetizer, the big bear loaded fries with bacon, steaming hot. At 1st it looked small but it was very hearty. The spiral fries were thick cut, crispy on the outside and perfect in the middle. It came with diced tomatoes, jalapenos and a lovely melted cheese. My son & are were trying not to eat it up too fast!
Then I had the french onion soup which was very nice but not as bold as I usually like my onion soup.
Then came our sandwiches... I had the Wagyu burger, medium rare and it was perfection. Big & juicy. It was so filling I couldn't finish it. It came with onion rings that were also perfect. Crispy and tender.
My son had the chicken sandwich with the hot peppers (I cannot recall the name) he thought it was a bit thin at first but he barely finished it. He said it was very good. Just a touch spicy and very flavorful.
We were too full to have dessert. lol
I was so happy to have gone today. It's nice to have such a nice place nearby.
It was a little pricy but not overwhelmingly so.
I'll be back!
First time here today. Will definitely be back. The wings were amazing! Steak Sandwiches were great and dessert very freshly made!
Been enjoying the PLI for many many years and i look forward to many more years there. Atmosphere, food, adult beverages and great staff!
Everything was delicious and service was great. Loved the cabin feel and laid back, outdoorsy atmosphere. Lots of food options.
It's a bit pricey. But overall we enjoyed our lunch. I ordered the seafood cakes, out of this world delicious. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich, but the sides are all extra. Excellent pomegranate martini!
Awesome Bar & Restaurant. Love the rustic decor. Staff is excellent especially Catherine. Beautiful area and a must stop in!!
Made my first visit to the promised land inn in Greentown two weeks ago. An amazing restaurant nestled in the promised land state park- amazing food- no added chemicals or antibiotics or garbage. I loved the buffalo shrimp, spinach dip, and elk meatloaf. Definitely worth the trip and drive. Also know for their 3lb tomahawk steaks - they only get 7 at a time. Fresh air, good service, wilderness, and a great place to eat local.
Fantastic meal with great service. Bright, clean and relaxing atmosphere. Everything was fast and fresh. The soup of the day was broccoli cheddar and bacon and it was so good we forgot to take a photo first. Gabby is the best server, friendly and great conversation.
Was camping at the State Park and saw this online. What a great meal we had! Wings-best mild ones ever-, Chicken Parm on flat bread, and the loaded fries were huge and delicious. Our waitress, Catherine was top notch.. attentive, friendly and has a beautiful smile. This experience was perfect in every way. Oh, the place is clean and decorated uniquely with mounted game. It has a huge fireplace. Last but by no means least, the music was the best of the 80's.... perfect! We will go again before we leave and will make sure it is our first stop in the Fall.
