So I've had many of my friends telling me that I need to to try Voodoo taco.
Today I finally decided I would visit this establishment, I went to the one located at Nebraska Crossing.
I ordered Barbacoa taco, brisket burrito, zombie tots. The Barbacoa and the zombie tots were both Savory and sweet, a lot of restaurants try this and fail horribly, one or the other overpowers and you lose the other flavors doing it. With that said, this place pulled off Savory and sweet perfectly. The Barbacoa was excellent, they are also fairly large tacos so your value for price is very good. It had a good hearty Savory flavor about the barbecue sauce gave it a little bit of tang with some sweetness.
The tater tots were absolutely amazing, they are smaller than normal tater tots and that's fine because you get plenty of them, and I think by doing it this way it brings a little more flavor to the plate.
The brisket burrito was very good, I'm not necessarily a burrito guy because burritos are not authentic Mexican food LOL, but what they're doing here is more of a Tex-Mex so it works, actually Tex-Mex might not be correct, it's kind of an alternative version of Tex Mex with what's offered and the flavors but nonetheless it is excellent. Back to the burrito LOL, flavor was good portion size was excellent and it had almost day hint of bourbon that resonated at the back of the throat which gave it a little more depth than you would normally get. I also tried the mild sauce, it is your typical mild sauce so it's nothing new or something you need to worry about trying thinking it could be too hot, it is truly a mild sauce which works great.
One thing I do want to add, I'm a huge fan of avocado and a lot of times with Mexican restaurants in America, they often neglect the placement of an avocado slice, this place nailed it perfectly.
Overall five-star, I will be back, this place was above and beyond what I had expected.
Those of you that follow my reviews know that sometimes I can be very brutal in my honesty, if you want an awesome taco, this place truly delivers. Next time I believe I will stick with just the tacos because that's in their name, and I will try one of everything so that I can do a more extensive write up next time I visit...
Great food and margaritas, but expensive! We paid 45 dollars for chips and queso , two Margs and two tacos. The tacos are TINY (like taco Bell's are 2x larger).
Went expecting average mall food, was surprised at how great it was. The steak fajita tacos are amazing and they don't skimp on the amount of meat. Blackened chicken nachos were amazing. Would eat there again, and could be a destination of its own regardless of being in a mall. Staff was super nice and friendly as well.
I just had some tacos and nachos with the family here. The alligator taco was excellent and so was the Baja shrimp taco. Not only that, but the guy who took our order was super helpful and delivered excellent service. I would highly recommend!
If you are looking for exceptional food and customer service this is the spot! Every time I've stopped by I've felt like royalty. The employees genuinely make you feel welcomed and appreciated. Today's amazing experience was courtesy of Ta'Shawn and I hope I've spelled his name right. He gave the best service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. He absolutely needs a raise. Whatever they are paying him is not enough. I had two fried chicken tacos along with the chips and queso. I could eat these all day every day and never get tired. This is a must stop place if you're at the outlets!
