It was delicious! They started us off with chips and salsa - the salsa has that smoky flavor and is just right - not to spicy. Brian had the Chori-Pollo and it was grilled chicken topped with spicy chorizo - yum! Antone and I shared the Chicken Nachos, they were topped with beans, cheese sauce and grilled chicken - they chicken is so tasty and juicy - it's absolutely scrumptious! We really enjoyed our meal and our server, Lupita was very attentive, refilling us with more chips/salsa and our drinks: Antone and I shared an Horchata (rice milk) & Jamaica (Hibiscus flower) and Diet Coke for Brian The bathroom was filled with so many authentic styling - I HAD to take pictures of the decor

This was our first time here. I can't say enough about the food and the management!! We were a group of 8 and each of us had something different. All of our meals were great. Several of us said this was the best Mexican we'd ever had! The manager came past our table several times to check on everything and make sure we had everything we needed! This is a must stop place in Gulfport!!!

I live in Ocean Springs and have tried all the Mexican food on the Coast. I'll go to Gulfport just to go here. This is an AMAZING place. Since before hurricane Katrina, this place has never let me down!

Having lived in LA most of my life you know I've had some incredibly delicious Mexican food. It's hard to find the real deal in Southern Mississippi but I finally found the place to go ... EL AGAVE. The owner, Mercedes, came here from Southern Cali and boy you can taste it. If you're ever in the area you've gotta try this place. Mercedes knows what he's doing. This is the real deal.

This is the best Mexican food I have had since we left Texas! I ordered the Carne Asada Tacos. Normally I do not order in this direction. I’m more of a taco, enchilada, tamale person. The tacos were delicious! The management and staff are friendly! We will be back again!

Excellent food and excellent service! We have always enjoyed coming here but then we had our “Pre Wedding Fiesta” here last week and it was perfect! The food was excellent and came out quick, our servers were on top of refills, etc and the atmosphere was perfect! Thanks for a great experience!

Great service from our waiter. LOTS of choices on the menu. Probably about 80 or more. The food came out fast, was hot, and delicious. I also was able to customize my food with the choice of meat. I only gave them a 4 because no one was in the front when we arrived and it took over 5 minutes for someone to come and seat us. This will be my go to for Mexican food in Gulfport for now. 😋

Another great meal. You can’t go wrong eating here. Order the street tacos if you don’t know what to get…. Service is outstanding. So if your in the Gulfport MS area, it’s worth a short detour. … don’t forget to get dessert.

What a Mexican restaurant. We arrived about 4pm Mexican music playing inside with lots of Mexican artwork. Not many customers. We were immediately seated. Great friendly server, staff and manager. The food was amazing. The carbon nachos were delicious. Large pieces of chicken, moist not dry. The cheese, beans, and meat were even distributed over the nachos very few didn't have cheese and beans. I added the shredded lettuce because I don't do guacamole or Pico, which normally comes with this dish. The presentation of the plate was good enough to take a picture of. I love food, so delaying my eating for a picture says a lot. My wife had a chicken fajitas salad. No complaints on her end. Great portions. My daughter had the fajitas machete (picture). It's like a quesadilla with fajitas ingredients. Talk about the size! She was able to finish half. The meat and veggies were steaming when she cut into to it with the cheese just spilling out. She even took a picture of it. Needless to say, for Gulfport, this is a must go to for Mexican food. Can't say enough about the friendly staff. The only reason for not a 5 star was e cleanliness of the men's bathroom....maybe someone couldn't deal with spice.

By far the best Mexican restaurant on the MS gulf coast! My family and I visit regularly and are always happy with the experience. The food is full of flavor, the margaritas are perfect, and the staff is friendly and fast! I’ve personally had mover half the menu and have yet to find a dish I didn’t like. I highly recommend you and yours visit El Agave, you’ll become a believer!

We were skeptical when we first arrived at this restaurant , but it was the only place open and that did not have a 45 minute + wait to get seated.. This ended up being a really great place to eat! The food was very good and the service was equally so. Drinks were very good also. You can't do better for Mexican food than El Agave in any of this area of Gulfport and surrounding area.

I felt I just had to leave a review after my first time dining here. So of course on Cinco de Mayo most of the Mexican restaurants were going to be super busy, which I expected. So me an my family decided to go to one of the most popular restaurants in the area on 49. When we finally reached the host we were told it would be a 2 hr wait. So we decided to try El Agave since it wasn’t too far away. The host told us it would be about an hour wait so we decided to wait, but not even 10 minutes later we were seated! Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items and very patient with my kids. Once we ordered we figured it would take a while to get our food because the place was jam packed. To our surprise the food came out fast, really fast in fact! The food was delicious (although I would’ve liked a stronger margarita) and El Agave saved the evening for me and my family! I highly recommend you try this place out; definitely made a repeat customer out of me!
