Never been there before, old or new location. Went Friday night for dinner. It was cold, snowing and we were not disappointed. I had the special, fried fish over angle hair pasta with crawfish sauce. It was absolutely beautiful, delicious and ample. Someone else had the fried oysters platter (a full dozen) and man, they were big, plump, seasoned and cooked perfectly. Even the salads were excellent and served on cold patters. Service was top-notch. Wish we had had room for key lime pie. On the way out we spied a tempting T-bone sizzling away on the wood grill...next time. We returned into the cold winds fortified and happy. Going back ASAP!
Friendly staff, great food...and they serve it fast! It's the only restaurant we visited twice on our stay. We will come back next time we are in town!
Good Food & Excellent Service!. Food was delicious! We loved the fried pickles and their famous crab salad...
Service was awesome, the waitress was super friendly and welcoming!
Local neighborhood restaurant. Good food and great wait staff. Good is reasonably priced.
Great place for a steak and shrimp. Nothing fancy, great family owned, local place! Couldn't ask for better service!
Always Good, Very Friendly!. I have lived in the area for quite some time and I have passed by this place for years. About 4-5 months ago I was invited to join some friends from work for lunch and I have since become a regular with my colleagues. We usually have the lunch specials. The Hamburger Steak and the Porkchops are AWESOME! The fried chops are VERY good but I'm more of a grilled food guy and their grilled chops cannot be beat. The smoke and seasoning are perfect. The menu is very affordable even on a lower income. The staff is great! Your cup never empties and they are very polite and punctual. I would strongly recommend this place.
Love thr atmosphere. Very casual and upbeat. My boiled shrimp was a tad overlooked but the spice was perfect.
Great gumbo!. My wife and I had lunch there today and both of us had a bowl of gumbo. It was terrific! Large shrimp, sausage and crabmeat. No oysters though, however technically you aren't supposed to eat oysters this time of year. Perfectly spiced! Cajun isn't supposed to be overly spiced and this was just right. It was spicy but the spice hit your moth just right. The crab salad is really krab salad but it was fine. Fine dining this ain't but it is definitely fun dining. Oh and the key lime pie was perfect!

Awesome food! Best steaks I've ever had and good fresh seafood!!! No steak sauce available or needed!
Service, food is wonderful! Steaks are awesome! I will return.
Good place!. Stopped in for lunch and it was jumping with business. They only serve steaks and shrimp they say but they have a daily special that is usually not either---and all cooked on an large indoor grill by the Captain. The staff--they are fast and great!
Oh. my. goodness.. At first glance this place may look like a dive. Ok, well, it kinda is, but let me tell you, it's fine. (and you have to say that with much emphasis) The first time I ate there I had the appetizer of crab cakes & shrimp. It was my meal. AWESOME!!! Those were the best crab cakes I've ever eaten. I love to eat at Captain Al's.
Also, if you love steak they serve a steak that is melt in your mouth, figuratively speaking. It's good food all the way around. I can't get past the steaks & crab cakes to try anything else. Is there more to the menu??
It has been 18 months since I've been in Gulfport MS & Captain Al's. The food and service is awsome. The shrimp are rhe best I've had in a while. And I'm from Louisiana. The only change is they replaced the tables and chairs
Very good food. The appetizer sampler could be an entree. The crabmeat salads are good. I also had a sausage poboy that was good and messy like it should be.
This place was great! Really cool decor, drinks were reasonably priced, but its the food that's crazy good.
Been to a few places were food was bland....not this place. Came with friends who are real deal Cajuns and they also were really impressed with the food. I got the steak and fried shrimp, it tasted amazing. Mr. Cajun had oysters and loved them. Only issue was the wrong drink for my wife but the place was so good it still stays 5☆
This is A Must Try Place if your in the area. But know the average for two is around $80 to $100 from what I've seen but its worth it, your on vacation, Treat Yourself!
Steaks are always cooked and seasoned to perfection. Very nice atmosphere will definitely return and definitely recommend to friends.
Great restaurant!! Nikki Creel steak and shrimp were very good!! Royal Red shrimp!! Twice baked potato!! Salad was a great and a mixture of green salad and a crab salad. Smooth Sailor (made with Sailor Jerry rum). A little pricey but good!!
Great atmosphere. Haven’t been to Captain Al’s in some years. The staff was very attentive and frequently checked on us. The food was extremely tasty; fresh food served hot. We will certainly return soon!
I had a steak and LOBSTER, steak medium rare, side salad, stuffed baked potato, THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, THE SERVICES WERE GREAT, WITH PLENTY OF SEATING.. WE ALL ENJOYED OUR TIME THERE. THE THREE YEAR OLD BOY HAD A GREAT TIME LOOKING AT ALL OF THE DECOR...HE EVEN TALKED ME INTO GETTING HIM A SHARK CUP....
Great food . Great service . No social distancing ,no one wearing mask coming in or out.
