One of the few places I can honestly say was extremely fantastic! We came in late and they still accommodated us to the point that we were the last ones out. I will definitely be back!
Cute little sushi place. I a strip mall but you couldn't tell once you're inside. It feels cozy and well loved.
Got the chirashi bowl. It was good, but really missing ikura or tobiko. Good amount of fish. Shredded cabbage that was odd. Quality of the fish was good.
Not a bad deal for $23.
Also got the scallop tataki. That was really good. Seared scallops with two sauces that were a bit sweet. Highly recommend checking this out if you like scallops!
Friendly service 😁
I love it the sushi was great very delicious and the service was perfect
Nice little spot just off 82nd Ave. Polite, friendly and attentive staff, it wasn't extremely busy, adequate seating. We had the gyoza(6 pcs fried), shrimp tempura (4 huge pcs), Kansas & Montana state sushi, the honey mustard drizzle on the sushi wasn't a big hit for us but everything else was delish.
Yummy sushi! The spicy salmon is so good. I really liked the cucumber roll, different way to eat sushi! The lady who served us was very kind & hard working. The menu is pretty cool, they have a whole list of rolls named after US states. They have a corner with kids toys that you can take to your table. Will come back!
Until today only ordered delivery. Went in and wasn't greeted for a while. I did see that it seemed to only be two of them working, so I do get that. That being said, didn't help me chose what we might want to order. Very off-hands. Still, the sushi is fantastic. Has been every time I've ordered. The sushi chef looked very focused and I see why.
Great food, many great menu options and combo deals. Later hours then other sushi places so great after a late work night. Friendly staff. Would come back again!
if you’re into sushi rolls give this quiet little spot a block off of 82nd a try! The selection is huge and you’ll need to go back a few times just to try them all! Service ✅ Food ✅ Vibe✅. Mahalo Sushi & Maki Restaurant 🤙🏽

Fresh seaweed salad, too many cucumbers but still really good. Sashimi was great. The first time I visited this place was not good at all good to see they have improved. Will definitely be back
Solid place. Was thrown off a little by the honey mustard on some of the rolls but it was surprisingly really good. Food was fresh. Service was quick and very attentive. Have only been here once but it has become our new sushi spot. New to the area...to be continued
Oh! The atmosphere was fine. Nothing that really made it stand out. Lighting was a little low. And I'm saying that as an aging 40+ male who just got reading glasses for the first time.
Our favorite Portland area sushi bar. State Rolls are creative and add unique choices to sushi and sashimi fare. This restaurant has a lot of regular customers and consistent staff. UPDATE 08/18/18 We are here again today. I am adding 2 photos. They have a board on which they put specials. Today, we ordered the Sakura Roll without the honey mustard sauce. Beautiful and delicious!
Absolutely phenomenal! We’ve been going to this place for years & it stays consistent with delicious food & great service. A must try spot.

Stopped into Sushi & Maki and the first thing I liked about it was the decor, lots of beautiful art everywhere. Then, we ordered the Karage, Yakitori, ramen, and a bento box, and it came with hot miso soup. It tasted great and was reasonably priced!
Amazing gem of a sushi spot tucked away. As a Japanese person I often get tired of the monotony of sushi, the same Tuna, salmon, hamachi etc. this restaurant pleasantly surprised me with a wide variety of fish, my favorite being the Suzuki. Their rolls are well thought out, unique, and absolutely delicious. I did not try their hot food but I can 100% recommend their sushi. Also! Most of their rolls come with real crab which is quite the treat for how affordable this place is.
We love this place! Always warm and cozy, quick service, and delicious food. My boyfriend loves all the options for rolls and I’m a big fan of the yakisoba and tempura. Yum comfort food! They seem to do a lot of take out business too.
I love this place! They have the best sushi. The fish is fresh and has the perfect fat content, giving the best flavor and texture in your mouth. The menu covers a wide selection sure to please even the most picky eater. The sushi dishes are named after the states, so you have 50 choices plus tempura selections. I encourage you to try as many as you can.
We love their sushi!
We usually dine at Yuma sushi..... but this place comes close with quality.
Ordered "to go" twice already!
We enjoyed the sushi here. They offer a total of 36 rolls named after US states. Ordering was easy from the nicely descriptive picture menu. We tried the Alaska, Hawaii, and Oregon. Fish was fresh, service was stale, and we'll be back to try another state.
