We used to go here when it was Okini until we had a few consecutive bad experiences. It has taken us time to give this another shot knowing the same people were involved. We have been pleasantly surprised. It’s more like the place we used to love and the food quality is excellent.
Incredible!. I was so disappointed when I heard that Okini had closed. But, I decided to try the new "replacement" restaurant in the same location. I was ecstatic! The Sakura roll was incredible and absolutely beautiful. Get the word out! You've got to try this sushi.
Sushi Restaurant. New Sushi House open for business. New restaurant, old chef. Formerly Okini taken over by it's former Chef, Michael is now open for business. Enjoy!!
In the middle of Pennsylvania, while shopping for a car we stopped for a lunch special, absolutely amazing, charming, welcoming and friendly. One person operation and he does it well. He makes sushi right in front of you quick, tasty, and most importantly fresh. The only thing that threw me off was hot, green tea served in a tea bag instead of being brewed from loose tea leaves, nonetheless the tea tasted pleasant. What a jem, love supporting local and the hard working.
The BEST cuts of fish in town!! FAST & friendly service. Great lunch specials make for a quick and easy lunch with coworkers. Also, a GREAT place for a special night out. BYOB. Hats off to owner & sushi chef Michael!!
This a wonderful little gem. Great sushi for a decent price. Speedy service during lunch time.
Excellent Sushi rolls at this place. They have everything from fancy rolls, to the more simplistic ones. The miso soup was okay, but the ginger dressing on the salad was tasty. We got a couple of the more fancy rolls and they were a piece of art just to look at I almost didn't want to eat them. I'm glad I did though, because they were delicious. The owner/sushi chef of the place was running the restaurant by himself this evening so I expected there to be some delay or wait, but overall the experience wasn't bad at all and he was absolutely knocking it out. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for some good sushi, and they do offer take out also.
I rate restaurants based on value to the customer. I have had better sushi before but never better value. The sushi here is excellent, consistent, and inexpensive. Great lunch specials and if you want fancy rolls they make a lot of them. This is my favorite sushi place in Harrisburg and I have tried them all.
First off, the sushi is high-quality and fairly priced. Lunch deals during the week are excellent and dinner at night won't break the bank (5 rolls and app for 2 for under $25.) Four star review because while the service is also pleasant and attentive, there are only two employees so when the place is swamped... service runs a little behind. Such a hidden gem though, worth the wait and wonderful atmosphere.
No one else was there that night. Was Feb. 13th and we were celebrating Valentine's day early. It made for a very romantic evening, kinda like we had reserved the whole place to our selves. The food and service were both exquisite. Some of the best sushi I have ever had and definitely on of the best soft shell crabs. The environment is not at all tacky. It's dark and comfortable and inviting. I would highly suggest this place for anyone looking for good sushi in Harrisburg. The prices were very reasonable too, not inflated, but not low enough to make you question where they got their fish. Heh.
