The best Mexican food I've ever eaten. We were driving from Texas to San Diego and decided to detour up to Hatch after watching Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations". After dining at The Pepper Pot, Hatch is on the way to California as far as I'm concerned. I could not get over just how much flavor there was in the enchiladas and the chile relleno.

The entire staff, including the owner, Melba, took the time to talk to us and make sure we were enjoying our meal. The prices cannot be beat, but be warned they only accept cash.

What is conspicuously absent is any mention or memorabilia of arguably the restaurant’s most famous visitor. In August, 2008, the Travel Channel’s indefatigable host Anthony Bourdain dined at the Pepper Pot during a filming of his No Reservations show. His dining companions were Judd Nordyke (mayor of Hatch) and his lovely better half Marcia (coordinator of the Hatch Chile Festival) who schooled Bourdain on the fine points of red and green chile. Bourdain declared Pepper Pot’s enchiladas “the best red enchiladas of his life.”

Food is very good. Service is great. Green chili sauce is outstanding. Wish I could make it half as good. Will stop in next time I am in the area. We had a large party and everyone had a great experience. Highly recommend

In the center of the finest chiles in the world sits this exquisite and dainty restaurant. With all the latin pizzazz that makes new mexico true the slogan. Pepper pot stands out. Good service, and tasty food
