Everything about Southbound is amazing...the menu, the eclectic decor, the friendly staff, along with the sound of the downtown train all make this little gem of local goodness the best in the Burg. The grilled turkey, spinach and artichoke on fresh baked rosemary garlic bread is a must!!!

My family and I make special trips from Biloxi to come to this bagel shop. We love the food and the kitschy little shop. Great stop if you're in the area!

Quaint little breakfast shop in Hattiesburg. The food was great especially the cinnamon raisin bagel. Everything was fresh and hot. I would definitely go back.
Walked over there for the first time since I got a new job, which is closer. Love the bagels and French toast! This place is my kind of place because of the decoration and the atmosphere. I’m definitely coming back.
I work right up the road and I literally eat here every chance I get. I love the service, the atmosphere, and most importantly, the food! Everything I've tried on the menu is excellent - not exaggerating. The specialty cream cheeses are some of my favorite things on the menu, next to the bagels and sandwiches of course! 5 stars ALWAYS
Took my family there while in town. Hattiesburg people. Be thankful you have a breakfast joint like this. Great food and great service. Just wish it wasn't 4 hours away.
A unique menu and eclectic atmosphere make this one of the best breakfast/lunch spots around. Their baked goods are unrivaled. You will not find a better bagel.
I LOVE SouthBound! The coffee is fresh, the bagels crispy and warm, and the staff very friendly
Love this place! Great bagels from scratch! ❤️🧡💛💚💙
I love the style of the place and the food is great. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable just like a coffee shop should be to me. I also love the fact that it's downtown! Enjoy!
My favorite breakfast place! I love the Tuscan omelette and asiago bagel.
Best bagels period. I eat breakfast here every chance I get.
This is a real gem of a place. The lox and Asiago bagel is superb and the coffee is wonderful.
Yahoo -- local bagels. Marvelous bagels -- slice and into skillet with buttah -- if not a smear
First time eating there today and I was very impressed. After hearing about the amazing bagels, me and my girlfriend went and got the meat lovers omelet and french toast meal. The omelet was really good but the French toast was absolutely mouth watering. Definatly the best french toast I've ever had.
Bagel and Lox.....forgetta bout it!. Saw the reviews here for bagel and lox and thought I would give it a try. The only time I usually get good lox is when I gravel on business, that's over with. Southbound has great bagels and authentic lox. Stop in and give them a try, you won't regret it! The coffee is pretty good too!
Hidden Gem. Southbound Bagel Shop is a hidden gem in the Hub City, housed in a location that was home to the long past California Sandwich Shop, Southbound has become an anchor of the Downtown Revitalization that Hattiesburg has experienced over the past decade. They serve the most authentic, best tasting bagels you'll find within 200 miles of Hattiesburg. The Bagel and Lox will make you think you're on the upper west side of Manhatten! Friendly service and a bottomless cup of coffee and the place is a must try for anyone in town or just passing thru.
Bagels. I like the turkey cranberry cream cheese sandwich. HUGE portions. You can also get a grab bag of day old bagels on the cheap.
Great little place. Husban.... Great little place.
Husband and i were looking for a non chain coffeehouse and found southbound. What a gem, BUT it needs a good scrubbing from top to bottom.
I love the atmosphere! Ther employees and owners are very down to earth people! The bagels are sooo good! I have a hard time deciding between jalapeno cheddar and garlic. Thanks to sbb for a great experience!
Stopped off on a road trip and so glad we did! The owners are so nice & friendly...quaint little place with really good food! Loved my Greek omelet & everything bagel! Will be back on our next trip through here!
Wonderful Breakfast Saturday. The French Provincial omelette has great flavor and has changed the way I make omelettes at home. My wife gets a cinnamon roll every Saturday. Like the bagels, they are fresh made on site, of course, and you can tell. There is no better place for Saturday breakfast than Southbound Bagel.
Grump at the grill. I love Southnbound. No one could argue that their bagels aren't the best in the entire state, and their sandwiches are stellar (particularly the grilled chicken and pesto). But the guy who works the grill (not the owner, Chris, the other guy--he's short and is prone to wearing Affliction t-shirts, also is balding) is so incredibly rude, almost to the point that I have to be coerced into eating breakfast at Southbound out of fear he'll be working there! Two Sundays in a row my fiancé and I went to have breakfast and he grunted, huffed, and puffed the entire time, and talked about how he just couldn't wait until breakfast was over so he could go home. Two weekends in a row! I wish he'd go home, too, and let someone else work the grill. The guy who works the cash register is so incredibly kind, however, and told us once that the rude grill guy is the owner's brother-in-law. I'd fire him in a heartbeat--he's the only grump in the place! Downtown Hattiesburg has a wonderful, friendly vibe and he just does not fit. I'd expect someone like him to be slinging eggs at IHOP. We've solved the problem of not having to look at him by sitting outside!
Great coffee house atmosphere. I hung out here this afternoon to sip some java and do some work. It's a nice little corner spot with indoor-oudoor seating and that classic, rustic coffee house feel. They bake their own bread and have a small grill for hot sandwiches and in addition to coffee they serve beer too. Great place to sit and watch the world and the trains go by.
More good food downtown. I've had both breakfast and lunch at SBB, and haven't been disappointed. The coffee is excellent and the bagels are so warm and delicious, not to mention huge. My fave is the jalapeno cheddar bagel w/ bacon and scallion cream cheese. The lox bagel is wonderful, too, and all the sandwiches I've tried were good.
My only gripe is that sometimes you have to wait 10-15 minutes for a very simple order (I waited that long this morning for a bagel with cream cheese!) because there is ONE person behind the counter and he/she is taking orders, cooking, brewing coffee drinks, delivering food to tables, cleaning up-- everything. There are always enough customers in the morning to justify 2 workers. Not sure what's up with that.
Did return :3. I am not from hattiesburg but was in town and hoped to find some good eats while i was there.by local recommendation my family found this place and was very pleased. ive made a total of 3 visits there and the bagels were good every time. the interior looks old but inviting ^_^. on one visit i had the everything bagel with cream cheese and cured/smoked salmon, it was sooooooo so good. i look forward to my next visit.
HIDDEN GEM. This place is a great lunch spot !!!
Best breakfast in hattiesburg. We have come to this charming downtown spot every saturday for over a year and i have had only positive experiences. The staff is great (they often have our bagels ready when we come in). Plus, the bagels are AMAZING...it is a gem that makes hattiesburg way more enjoyable!
Yummmm! As tasty as the bagels I get in ny. The cheddar jalepeno is delish!
Excellent food! Homemade bagels, the right way. Excellent coffee. A diamond in the rough. The bagel with lox on an onion roll is my favorite. There is also a lunch portion where many of the sandwiches can come with... bagels, you guessed it, if you would like. If you're ever in Hattiesburg give it a try. You won't be disappointed.
