I don’t know how I missed this place for 4 years, but this is by far the best coffee shop in Hattiesburg if you’re looking for good coffee and a quiet environment. The seating is comfortable, the music isn’t overbearing, the temperature and lighting are pleasant and Caesar, the owner, loves meeting and talking to his customer. I’ll definitely be back!
Not enough space to brag about how great of a spot this is! I am always impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere that awaits when you walk through the coffee shop doors... never miss a chance to make a stop here to get coffee when traveling through Hattiesburg. The staff is always polite and inviting as well as quick with my order. If I happen to have time to take a minute and respond to some e-mails while working in town, I can't think of a better place than the couch at Java Werks! The owner is always present and always takes the time to ask about my day. Not to mention everyone else's when they walk in the door, most of which he knows by name. Great people, great service, and a great atmosphere! Next one in Gulfport Mississippi please!!

DELICIOUS! First visit and I ordered a Cachito, Latte, and Pistachio muffin. This was my first time trying the "Cachito"... it's sooo good. The ham it contains is not your usual ham slices but ham chunks. The Pistachio Yogurt Muffin was perfect! Not too sweet and extremely moist. The cafe latte had a great taste! Aside from the delicious snacks and great coffee, is the outstanding service and friendliness from Ms. Marvelis. This place has a cozy atmosphere and definitely very welcoming!! Loved it!!!
I spent the last few weeks working at USM, and Java Werks quickly became my home away from home. Great coffee and food, wonderful staff - the arepas are a unique and delicious option. Thanks, Java Werks, for fueling my stay in Hattiesburg!

The best coffee shop in Hattiesburg for sure! Even have a good lunch menu to go with your coffee! Just tried their new chicken salad! Delicious! And of course the best service around!

This was my first time at Java Werks, and it was so refreshing! The staff is so relational and the coffee was delicious. I loved the environment, the temperature, the music, the atmosphere. It's a great place to go if you want to get work done and catch up with old friends over a hot cup of coffee. I'll be at this hidden gem in Hattiesburg again soon for sure.
I absolutely love this place! I live on the coast, and my sister and I drive all the way to Hattiesburg just to get the delicious Camburada! It's the best! The owners are super kind! If I could give it 10 stars I would.

As a traveler, one of my favorite past times is visiting a lovely coffee shop along the way. I spent several months here in Hattiesburg and I am kicking myself for not finding this gem sooner. The man that I believe is the owner is very friendly and treats you like family. He was very professional and offered some tasty options for me to try during breakfast time. The coffee was great as well! And the ambiance is so inviting. It’s likely a perfect spot for college students here. If I’m ever back, I’ll come here!
Flavorful, high-quality, homemade arepas. Got the veggie with no cheese, and black bean with cheese for a friend. Both were hits. I’ve had arepas before but this is one of the best.
Atmosphere was casual and young (it’s right across from the university). Great place to study, eat lunch, drink a coffee, read a book. Choose from comfy couches (they were all taken) and tables and chairs.
The people working there were super nice and everything served with a genuine smile.
Only thing that could be improved would be to serve food eaten in-house on real plates. The food quality did not match the disposable parchment in which the arepa was served in.
EDIT: returned again to find a band playing! The perfect lunchtime hangout while it was raining outside; the band was very funky and good!
Excellent coffee and paninis. We stopped in for our first time for breakfast around 9. We ordered two coffees that were quickly made and tasted very good. The paninis were tasty with a good combination of eggs, cheese and meat. The location is large with a number of table spread throughout the shop. Friendly service makes this a place we will return when we are in town.
Great little hole in the wall coffee shop. I had my order and was seated with food in under five minutes. The coffee was excellent and my food followed in character. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.
I had the good fortune to discover this great coffee and tea shop on a road trip that took me through Hattiesburg last week. It's so cute and the owners and staff are so community-minded. I wish I lived there but will make a stop here every time I'm in the neighborhood. Next time I'll sample the food items also.
