We stopped by for lunch on a Friday on our way to Denali and are glad we did! Restaurant was very tidy and staff was super polite. We had the Mexican Street Corn dip appetizer and it was very delicious, chips tasted homemade. The Alaska Salmon BLT was big and delicious, the Salmon was very flavorful. The Grilled Steak and Bacon Mac and Cheese was amazing! Nice portion size and full of flavor. The King Crabby Grilled Cheese was indescribably delicious, bread was great, filling was amazing and fries were fabulous as well. The Sleeping Lady burger was a solid all around basic burger, perfectly cooked on a flavorful bun. We’ll define back!
Absolutely LOVE coming to this place in the summer. The food is amazing, the staff is super friendly and upbeat, and the beer is to die for. The space inside offers an exciting and electric vibe, and when the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is the perfect environment to sit and enjoy a beer.
On our most recent excursion, May was our server, and she was so friendly we just wanted to order more and more! I love meeting all the young people working here, they are fun and enthusiastic, and always interesting to talk to.
I got the Russian Imperial Stout, a burger that has onion rings and mashed potatoes on it, and then we ordered the cheesecake and the tiramisu.
Everything we ordered was impossibly good, and arrived quickly. May was super attentive and on top of it. Will definitely continue coming back year after year.
Food is very good, especially considering it's a brewery. Food is priced high, though.
We had their Yak burger and Buffalo meatloaf. Burger was excellent, and it should be for $29. The meatloaf is not what you normally would expect for meatloaf. It was tasty but could have used a seasoning.
Enjoyed a nice dinner here after a long day in Denali. The entrance is very inviting, a great replica of the bus in 'Into The Wild' with photos. Huge firepit. Outdoor seating. The inside is super nice and beautiful. Very stylish!
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The food was amazing!
Parking was plentiful!!
Definitely worth a visit!
This was the best meal we had in Healy. We really enjoyed everything we ordered including the buffalo meatloaf, the wild caught alaskan salmon dish, the seafood chowder, the wedge salad, and the king crab grilled cheese. The atmosphere here is very fun. They even have the bus from the Into the Wild movie set. I also reccomend ordering one of their homemade sodas. I loved the blueberry cream soda!
The beer is great, especially the tripple IPA. The food is also nice. We had baby ribs, a bowl, nachos and flatbread.
Special thanks to our waitress Morgan who served us very friendly and courteous.
We’ve bean to the Anchorage branch, but the here we felt more “native”.
Stopped here for dinner while staying close to Denali national park. We had tried out their anchorage location earlier in the week and had a pleasant experience. We tried the Yak burger and the Parmesan crusted halibut. Both were tasty. They also have a nice selection of beer. Aren’t many dining options in the area, I would recommend if you’re looking for a nicer meal.
This place is awesome! Tadd and Molly at the bar are so personable and efficient. The beer is delicious! If you are in the area and want a great beer, food, and atmosphere stop in for a spell. We had the fish and chips, cauliflower and chowder. Best ever!! Wait….the Carmel Corn bar munchies were very tasty too
So, I have now had 49th in Anchorage and outside of Denali. Both great places, consistent food. Get the Krabby Sandwich and upgrade to the bowl of Seafood Chowder, it is unbelievable! Pit the sandwich in the chowder and let it sit for a few, you WILLNOT be disappointed! Sandwich is FULL of crab
Great food. The Reindeer Meatloaf is phenomenal, King Crabby, Caribou Burger, Halibut Fish Chips were all crowd pleasers. Beers and pops were great as well. Twig & Berries is an awesome cocktail
Love 49th State Brewing. Great beer and awesome food. We went twice! Big fan now. Not pictured, but their crabby grilled cheese is the best!
Denali 49th state brewing company is great! May, our waitress was phenomenal! Very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and the beer and wine was top notch. I believe this one is better than the one in Anchorage.
Our best dining experience in Alaska! We’ve visited AK a couple times now, and we do a lot of eating out when we’re here, and we’ve had a lot of amazing food here, but nothing as good as 49th State Brewing.
After a quick day trip to Denali from Fairbanks yesterday, we were starving and decided to chance a stop with no reservation. I had no idea the bus from Into the Wild was here, so that was a cool thing to see while we waited for our table.
The place is beautiful and has a really fun and upbeat vibe. We sat at the fire pit, which was really cool. Our waitress (I believe her name was Melissa?) was super fast and attentive and had a great personality. Knowing nothing about the place, I was expecting standard greasy bar fare but I was completely wrong —their menu is full of creative Alaskan options and healthy takes (I’m not vegan but the vegan Mexican Street corn was a delicious appetizer). My husband had the Ancho Chili AK Salmon Bowl, I had the Spicy Buddha Bowl (another vegan option but I added grilled chicken). Both were huge portions and absolutely excellent. I love bowl-based entrees with unique flavors put together and these were perfect.
Big thanks to (Melissa??) our waitress for service fast enough to allow us to experience this awesome place even though we had limited time.
I've been to the Anchorage location and was pretty underwhelmed, but I had a much better experience here. No surprise the beers were top-notch. My ratings from my flight: bavarian hefeweizen (7/10), nitro mccarthy stout (5/10), golden dall (9/10), seward's folly (8/10). (I very well might have mixed up the stouts, but the thicker one was the good one, and the other was a little too watery for me). For food, the thai halibut burger was a super interesting curveball that jumped out at me. It was a little sweet, but very tasty, and had a good amount of heat to balance things out. Service at the bar was soso at first, but it got much better when a 2nd bartender took over. I have zero regrets ending a long day of hiking here, and I'd recommend you do the same.
The esthetic of the brewery was a great atmosphere, but their selections of beers cater to about any palate, and sitting at the bar was made for a great evening with Thaddeus taking care of us (even though we thought his name tag said Cheddar). He perfectly handled a disgruntled patron next to us who ordered a burger with onions on it and complained when there were onions on it. One of our favorite breweries thanks to our experience!
Incredible! We went here on the opening night of the 2023 season—drove all the way from Fairbanks for the food! Everything was incredible. It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. 10/10 experience.
Excellent dinner! Such a fun atmosphere with awesome service! Our waiter Jason hooked us up with great beer suggestions! Making sure we were taken care of the entire time! We will be back!
Service at the bar was great, the outdoor section with firepit was excellent. The food was top notch. Our bartender Thad was friendly and helpful.
Last year during summer we went to this place. This place was fully packed and we had to wait for at least 30 mins to get a table. But it was worth it. The interior was cool and had Alaskan touch.
We were a huge group and ordered lot of things. The beers here were awesome. In food, I tried the Yak Burger for the first time in life. It was delicious and I still remember the taste.
The service was top-notch. Although we made lot of noise, they were patient with us. The lady who served us did great.
If I go to Denali again, we'll try to go there again.
