First of all, I would like to say that I came with my family to visit Helen all the way from Texas. We were hoping to have different but good Mexican food but it fell below our expectations. The salsa is not actually salsa but just plain tomato sauce. The rice and beans that come with the entree was
The food was decent. It did take a bit to get. But it’s Helen and a tourist town. So I expected it. I got garlic shrimp, it was good. My friend got nachos. She loved hers. The guacamole was outstanding. The chips were fresh and hot.
My biggest concern was no toilet paper in the female bathro
The barometer by which I can easily judge a Mexican restaurant, especially in a touristy location, is by ordering carnitas. La Cabana has pretty darn tasty carnitas. The rest of our order, meh. I'm a hiker from Ohio and this place hit the spot. The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend this restaurant. The nachos are awesome btw!

We requested more chips, salsa and 2 cheese dips. We received 2 cheese dips and second chips with meal, no salsa.

The food was fresh and delicious. I visited on a beautiful day to sit outside and the patio tables are nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very affordable as well. All around pleasant experience. I'll be back!
