After hearing the wonderful reviews from friends and coworkers, my wife and I decided to give this place a try! From the moment we walked in we were greeted and made to feel like we were with friends! The hostess was incredibly helpful and kind! After giving our order, our food was delivered within minutes of sitting down! My only regret was not taking a picture of our meal before we ate! Everything was fantastic! The homemade tortilla chips with queso were top notch and the salsa was equally as amazing! However, what stole the show were the plates of authentic Mexican street tacos we both devoured! We tried several of the different meats, and while they were all great, our favorite was the Al Pastor! I think I speak for both of us when I say that we've found our new favorite Mexican restaurant in Hickory!
10/10, We will definitely be back again!
(Next time, I'll try to snap a picture before the food is all gone)
Edit* We went back the other day and got a picture! The food was just as amazing as we remembered it! :)
I've been told this is the best Mexican food in Hickory so I wasn't surprised to LOVE this lunch! I had the chori-pollo chimichanga as take-out today was not disappointed! The hot salsa was delicious too. Eager to go back and try their other items. The place smelled AMAZING when I walked in to pick up my order. The staff could not have been more friendly. Will definitely return!
Amazing vegan options! The menu itself does not specify all vegan options, only a few, but we were told when ordering that any menu item could be made vegan. Be sure to ask if an item is fried (like the Chimichanga) if cross contamination if an issue.
All around helpful, polite, and informed staff and servers, delicious authentic food, and awesome prices. Me and my wife visited from Charlotte due to being recommended by a friend, and the food was so good we haven't stopped talking about it since. Good, authentic Mexican food made vegan is very rare, and Isabelas hit the mark with their options! I got the Torta Vegana (plant based beef, vegan cheese, rice, beans, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and vegan mayo on a Bolillo roll) and was so full I had to bring the other half home. Ave that was after sharing a few bites with my wife! Their house made tortilla chips are delicious, but not fully vegan due to being fried in the same fryer as all of their meat items. Fortunately for us, this was not a deal breaker and we indulged ourselves! Our server, I believe her name was Vanessa, was super helpful and seemed genuinely eager and excited to tell us all they had to offer in the way of plant based options. The chefs even allowed us to try their now vegan chorizo and it was amazing!
Definitely a hidden gem that we will be returning to as often as possible! Thank you all so much for the hospitality and truly amazing food!
My kiddo and I tried Las Isabella's this evening and wow, we were not disappointed! As a vegan it is hard to find options in Hickory. Las Isabella's is filling a void in that area with so many delicious vegan options. Actually their whole menu can be made vegan. They have vegan meat and cheez and are looking into adding vegan chik'n and vegan sour cream! It was all delicious. Always get the fresh homemade chips and pico. All vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. When you order just tell them you are vegan! I asked if any of the desserts were vegan and she said not yet but they are working on getting some vegan desserts on the menu! Everyone was super nice! Everything was fresh and oh so good!! My favorite thing was the sope and the chips and pico. We also got the torta and quesadilla. Enough for several meals. I will be trying the mango margarita next time for sure!
Do you love authentic tacos? If so, this is your spot. Simple, delicious food. The location isn’t much to look at but most of the best places I’ve ever eaten were little hole in the wall type spots. This is no different. Good, hard working people cooking great food and bringing culture to a sleepy southern town. Give them your dollars. 👍🏻👍🏻
Best Mexican in Hickory and surrounding area. Local, family owned. Owner makes the food and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. We try to go often.
You need to give this place a try! Hidden gem of a restaurant located inside a Mexican Tienda. You enter through the store and the dining area is over to the right where you wait to be seated.
The patio had a fantastic atmosphere with lots of plants and sunlight. Busy on a weekday evening. The service was friendly. Chips and salsa aren’t complementary but I’d definitely recommend ordering some - very fresh tasting. The margaritas looked delicious also with fresh garnishes.
Our food was excellent. They have a great variety and it sounded like they had some veggie/vegan options also. The menu is in both English and Spanish.
This place is bomb! Very authentic and delicious. The portions are large and it’s priced just right. Paring can be a little tough. I highly recommend this place. We will be back.
*Another great meal! The goat was amazing! Love this place. Very good service
