Great coney island chili dogs and wonderful and friendly people that work there. I used to come here in the 80's with my grandpa when he was a kid, and he used to come here in the 30's (yep, you read that right, 1930's) when he was a kid. Back then, Ford had his first assembly line plant down the road and the workers could not leave for lunch. He (and other kids) used to wait outside the windows and the workers would pass them money to go get them lunch and bring it back. They would get to keep the change of 15 cents or so, which was enough for a coney island dog, and a soda, or some candy. Good times.

I was happy to make it down to this gem before they close for good in just four days, becoming the fourth generation of my family to eat here. Service is fast and friendly, and the food is delicious but very affordable. The only downside is that I took so long to come down here for the first time, and won't be able to get back before it's gone. Thanks for 100 years of memories in the community and in my family!
Great Dogs,, Great customer service and friendly. # 1 Chili dog recipe. Sad to see them closing after 100yrs.
Never heard of this place before seeing it on the news, I had my first visit with them today. Great food and chili, definitely not like the average coney island. So sad to see them go. Well I'm going to visit as many times as I can before they go. You guys are awesome. Have a happy retirement.
The coney was delicious as usual. But they will close permanently on July 24, 2021. They will a retirement celebration on Saturday June 26 from 11a.m. to 4p.m. There will be all you can eat coneys with chips and fries for $10. Souvenir T-shirts for $20 or for $25 get a t-shirt and food. They will be greatly missed.
For some reason we had never heard of this place before seeing on the news that the owner was retiring and that place had been in business for about 100 years! BUT wait! As of this review the place is for sale. You could carry on its legacy but the real value is in the purchase of the "chili receipe." If you purchase the chili recipe you can keep the name "Red Hots" or the retiring owner will still supply the chili but you get no receipe! Who's up for an investment!!
Serving coney islands since 1921, same family. Old school is best!
