We tried to get a table in the main restaurant in the side room, but the booths were all reserved. It actually worked out because we we able to sit in the Wine Garden. Absolutely beautiful setting and great service. We started with the Artisan Bread Basket...so good! The Chicken Caesar Wrap was excellent, but the Pulled Pork was disappointing...a bit fatty and bland. I tried the Sake Sangria, which was different but good.
We had dinner here Friday night! I highly recommend the pasta short rib! Michael was our server! He was so accommodating, attentive, helpful, personable and kind! The atmosphere was so beautiful! Our first time experience and the couple we were with celebrated their wedding anniversary! The food was wonderful and the presentation was great! We will be back!
We went for my sister's 70th birthday. The food was excellent and the service was very personal and welcoming. There were rose petals on the table and several staff said Happy Birthday to her. There were several complimentary small snacks like Waygu beef stew before the meal. The Diver Scallops were excellent. We had the Black & White Bread Puddng which was very rich and delicious. They personalized the serving dish with Happy Birthday which was a nice touch. We came away feeling it had been a special night.
Stopped off for a beverage and snack before travelling on to Cashiers. The Old Edwards Inn has a lot of charm and the Wine Garden is a beautiful locale. Would love to dine at Madison's some time if we can get a reservation.
A very sophisticated and upscale place. Breakfast was really nice and the service was top notch. Waiter did a fantastic job at helping me get a custom order for my dietary needs. Omelette with pork sausage and cheese, bacon was very crispy and unsweetened house yogurt was nice to top it off. I will add that Jade our waiter was very attentive and made the experience even more one to come back for.
5 star+ every time all around. The best Fine Dine in the Highlands. This dish was Calves Liver with onions and Potatoes. The drink was a Moxy strawberry cocktail. The service was exceptional. I returned twice to try desert. I ordered the banana creme pudding made with swirling carmel on my second visit. I sooo...Loved 😢 the Doubley Golden 💯 vanilla wafer and the violet 💜 that deserved its place at the top. Purple hearted places are like rare mountain wildflowers that bloom in the Highest of Elevations after a very long winter.
It’s quite good!
The Pan-Seared Foie Gras was heavenly!
Pan-Seared Foie Gras
Warm Black Lentil Salad, Sweet Onion Cream, Toasted Brioche, Frisée Salad, White Verjus
Great ambience and service too!
We ate here on a Saturday in June. Couldn’t make a reservation so we put our name in and they would call/text us. That isn’t an issue as there are so many great shops in this town. Got a call our table was ready.
Seated and enjoyed our little spot to wait for some food. We both enjoyed our appetizers and our lunch. Service was great and we both would have the same exact thing again.
Love this town even though it’s very busy in the summer.
We had a very nice lunch at Madison's. Service was outstanding, food was good. Our Ceasar salad was excellent, and I enjoyed my carrot soup and a smoked trout melt. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich that was okay but had a lot of fat pieces in it.
The music playlist unfortunately did not fit the atmosphere of a high end white table cloth restaurant with a 20 page wine list that goes up to $7,000 a bottle...
Our experience at Madison's was truly exceptional. Our server was kind and attentive, the booth was comfortable and the food was delicious. I felt so cared for. It was a true pleasure to eat here. They set the bar very high for all other restaurants in the area.
Have dined here numerous times over the years and always enjoy. Recently the lunch menu could be better. We were a sizable group over the Labor Day holiday and had a nice time and good service. I recall the waiter seem to call one of the gentlemen at our table ‘pops’. Food wise the burger was extremely well done without an ask of how it should be cooked before serving. Some sandwiches were salty. All and all not worth the cost for the food sadly. The drinks were very good and the hotel venue is lovely.
Excellent dining experience! Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful which helped set the tone for a very enjoyable evening of truly dining and not just eating a meal. We are guests at Half-Mile Farm, an Old Edwards property and rode the shuttle from the farm to Madison’s. We were contacted several times in advance to make certain our arrangements were suitable and to confirm a couple of days beforehand. The atmosphere of Madison’s is very warm and inviting with a nice fireplace on a chilly evening, a comfortable sitting area and a beautiful Christmas tree. We were offered drinks while we waited and escorted to our table a bit prior to our actual reservation. Wait staff was very prompt in bringing us a selection of waters and drink offerings along with menus and a recitation of evening specials. My wife opted for the flounder of the evening and a couple of sides while the trout dish was calling my name. Laila, our server, offered us a buttermilk lavosh and local pimento cheese that was scrumptious and in a few moments, our bread server brought a selection of various breads and a delicious side of butter. Our main courses arrived shortly afterwards and both were every bit as tasty as we anticipated. The fishes were prepared perfectly and the sides paired well. We ordered some decaffeinated coffee and split a banana pudding with ice cream dessert that was the die for! Laila paced our meal very well and Celine checked in a couple of times to make sure we were pleased. We enjoyed chatting with her about her home country of Germany and having visited the region where she lived, had a good conversation with her about her homeland. This is a truly delightful venue where you are treated like guests in someone’s home and at a very comfortable, leisurely pace which is in keeping with the overall ambiance. I highly recommend Madison’s.
First class restaurant! Courteous and accommodative service. Very clean and rich surroundings. We sat in a booth, which was the most comfortable restaurant booth we had ever experienced. Outstanding food. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to celebrate life events or to be treated like someone special.
Magical evening at Madison’s Restaurant. The service was fabulous and dinner amazing. Our waiter William was spectacular and chemist Jason Duke made amazing recommendations and drinks. The cocktails and wine were paired perfectly with the duck entree and bacon wrapped filet special. Cheers and enjoy!
A must when you are in Highlands North Carolina. They do fabulous job and treat you special. The facility is beautiful and the food is excellent also. We always make it a point to eat here on out annual trip to this area. Very convenient in downtown with easy access and parking also. Ate there last night again and it only seems to get better!
Beyond expectations from beginning to end ! A very special experience. The service was outstanding, the food superb, a beautiful evening!
Food was good. The service was great.
It was very pleasant sitting outside at the wine garden. It was a perfect 72°F.
The sweet tea was excellent. Not too sweet and a little on the strong side. I like it that way.
I had a bowl of chili and corn bread. It was OK, but it didn’t have much flavor. I didn’t want it spicy hot, but it needed a little more of something. Salt and pepper helped.
I also had the Smoked Trout Melt. It was good but the capers kind of overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. The rye bread really balanced it out though.
We had lunch and breakfast twice at Madison’s. This was our favorite dining experience in Highlands. The breakfast, even just the simple eggs and bacon was out of this world. My wife and I have never had bernton’s bacon and it was cooked so well. The service was exceptional. My favorite unexpected pleasure was the biscuits. Simple and delicious. The chicken biscuits for breakfast were phenomenal- they come with a bacon jam and again the biscuits are made so well. We loved Madison’s!
An absolutely wonderful experience! We ate outside in the wine garden with a babbling brook nearby. Fantastic ambiance and wonderful service. The food was superb! We finished by sharing the signature dessert, Madison's pecan pie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream that was decodent and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant!
