Frankie & Ava's opened today in Hoboken, NJ and I just had my first (of many) panini! Excellent food, good prices, and for a meat lover like myself, I couldn't have wished for more: my panini was stuffed with chicken and prosciutto! Thumbs up!

Best New Addition to Hoboken in a long time! The food is outstanding... their Rabe and Sausage is one of the best things I've tasted. Friendly service, quick turn around and really reasonable prices! A MUST TRY!

I love *PIZZA*, I can eat it everyday... Today I took a bite of a *MARGHARITA SLICE*! I looked at the menu and I was sold on a particular pie! BROCCOLI RABE & SAUSAGE PIZZA Ohhh man, this was just right! The *BROCCOLI RABE with CRUMBLED ITALIAN SAUSAGE* was simply amazing!!!! I highly recommend it, I hit mine with a little crushed red pepper flakes! OHH-MAH-GAH, CHICKA CHICKA YEAH!!!!!

I've been wanting to try Frankie and Ava's for the longest time and I finally did, one hot Hoboken Sunday afternoon. When you walk in, you can just grab a table and peruse the menu. Once you're ready, you order and pay at the counter, and then they bring the food to you. For our party of five, we definitely over-ordered, but I wasn't mad about it. Here is everything we got: Crispy Calamari (Flour dusted, with capers, olives, hot peppers, garlic, olive oil - $10) - these were good, no complaints. Buffalo Chicken Balls (Pulled chicken breast, blend of cheese, scallions, fiery buffalo sauce - $9) - not bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Riceballs (comes with two - $6) - I enjoyed these. I also really appreciated that there were no peas in there because I hate when there are peas in riceballs. Homemade meatballs (comes with three - $6) - I've had better meatballs. The texture of the meat was a bit odd - like it was overly processed. Philly Cheesesteak (Sautéed peppers & onions, provolone - $9.75) - I should have known better than to order a philly at an Italian place, so this one was on me. I could barely taste any cheese in there and the meat was kind of bland. Plus the fries that came with it tasted old and soggy. Frankie and Ava's signature pizza (Sopressata, long hot peppers, provolone and fresh homemade mozzarella - $19/$10) - this pizza was great. The sauce was perfect. Wild Mushroom pizza (Mixed wild mushrooms, fresh homemade mozzarella finished with truffle oil - $19/$10) - this pizza was even better. They didn't skimp on mushrooms, and you could really taste the truffle. Am definitely ordering this one again for my next visit Linguini & Clams pasta (Fresh clams, white wine, garlic, olive oil, red crushed pepper) - I didn't get a chance to taste this because I was too full, but my BF's fam said it was really good and that they gave a good amount of clams. It seems that if you steer clear of anything that's not really Italian (i.e. cheesesteaks and buffalo chicken balls), then whatever you order will probably be good. Aside from ordering the wild mushroom pizza again, I definitely want to try some of their pastas next time. Tip - BYOB

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The food is great and the staff is helpful and friendly most of the time. I appreciate how they will prepare their signature wraps, as a sandwich or a panini as a wrap. The mixing of the ways the ingredients “inside” are prepared keeps me coming back to try different “outside” combinations. One of theses days I’ll order the pizza. The Margarita looks good in the display case. It can get crowded but it’s worth the wait. I prefer take out, but there are plenty of tables if you want to stay.

Had great food here! The buffalo chicken ball appetizer stole the show. I ended up eating them and taking the carbonara back home because they were too good to ignore! The carbonara was perfect. I'll be coming back!

Great place for Italian sandwiches in Hoboken (and great value). We chose to sit down to eat and really enjoyed our food. Also had the option to take it to go. I got the eggplant parm sandwich and would get it again if I weren’t trying their pasta dishes which also looked good.

Wow, this is a foodie's paradise! I have eaten here on multiple occasions while visiting Hoboken and it has never disappointed. They have all of the ingredients out on display to freshly put together any of the items of the menu. I like that they have different bread and wrap options to make the sandwiches with. The chicken cutlets were amazing on the Zarrillo sandwich, complete with mozzarella, arugula, bruschetta & balsamic on pressed focaccia bread. Tip: The sandwiches and wraps are packed and huge, so think twice about ordering anything else unless you have someone to share it with.
