This place has some damn good ice cream. They even have mochi ice cream... It's decent. Prices are decent. There could be more cone options but the ice cream is really what you're coming here for, right? They do that well. I'd definitely come back here and recommend it to my friends. Service is good, too.
I don't really like mochi and this was pretty good. Lots of flavors so worth trying them all until you find something you like. Strawberry and guava are good. Green tea is good as well. I would go back.
Always enjoy their ice cream, this time they didn't have much of a selection of flavors which was disappointing. None the less I enjoyed my waffle cone all the same. If you're in Hawaii Kai check them out.
After a long day in the sun, Bubbies Mochi Ice Cream is the way to cool down. They have a menu full of delicious homemade ice cream in a variety of flavors wrapped in Mochi...mmmm!
I always love bubbies ice cream and I'm still glad they have this location open! I may be extremely biased since I've been eating their ice cream for as long as I can remember but they definitely have the best ice cream on island! My order of half mint chip and half mocha chip hasnt changed in over 10 years and it still tastes just as good as when I first ordered it. The Hawaii Kai location is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the trip over!
Love their mochi ice cream - so many creative flavors! Also love that they offer a 2 oz size scoop (the Fetal Dip) for when I want just a taste of one of their flavors - like the blueberry I tried recently. Sooo good, with fresh blueberry flavor throughout that creamy goodness. Probably gonna have to fight the crowds this summer with the way the temps are going!
A delicious place to stop for ice cream or mochi filled with ice cream! The boards with flavors are colorful and easy to read. Many flavors available for each ice cream and mochi. The ice cream can be sampled upon request. Ice cream can be served in a cup or one of three cones: regular, sugar, or waffle. Ice cream is also sold by weight so there is some variety in scoop size but it's reflected in the price. The only poor part was the service was lacking a bit and one of the people behind the counter was unfriendly/disinterested while the other was very friendly and helpful.
Mochi icecream is one of the most particular choices. For that, flavors are limited. If you get cone, you do have a wide variety of flavors. But the taste is plain as well as other shops. It is not like Italian gelato.
Their mochi ice creams are so good! Many different flavours. Perfect texture and packed with flavour. I come here every time

I hate to admit that Bubbies isn't nearly as magical as it was when I was growing up, visiting the original University shop. I especially miss the ice cream pies and desserts. That said, the ice cream and mochi are still pretty solid.

it's really sad to see this place go out of business. Bubbies makes some really great original ice cream. I have taken many friends here and have loved their crazy dessert names like "multiple orgasm" and "maybe the bag broke" over the years they've toned it done and only "sticky nuts" remains. Their mochi ice cream is one of our favorites and all of their chocolates are amazing. my favorites are still green tea and any of their mint creations. I must applaud the two young ladies working here as they face a tidal wave of well wishers and fans of this great ice cream institution. They handled it with grace and a smile. We will miss you Bubbies.
They have great ice cream here and the owner is very generous to the community. The ice cream appears to be premium and if you go there may be a line but if not you are lucky. The owner does fundraisers for schools and churches to help with their costs for Steve they need money for.
Lots of parking available. Tried the lychee ice-cream and it was creamy, delicious, and had little bits of fruit in it. Also had almost all the mochi ice-cream flavours - the perfect texture and can be taken to go too. We brought them to China Falls to watch the sunset.
Visited four years ago and still can’t forget how delicious the icecream here was. It was the taste of Hawaii for my family since, along (with poke bowls and scampi) Returned today just to find out it is closed now and only selling products in marts. So sad 😢 Thank you for the icecream of my life. Wishing all the best!
