Love the fusion of the food. Hawaiian unique style. Delicious everything. The wine the music. Love it. Wish to visit again
We tried 75% of the menu. Every dish was amazing. Each being a unique mix of flavors coming together to make amazing food. Whiskey selection was excellent. Service was phenominal. Highly recommend.
Poke poke! Order the beet poke! Made from heart! Very unique restaurant menu!
This place was amazing the food was spot on and delicious! The servers and chefs we're a delight our food came out very quickly. Everything was ono and filled our tummies
Great service! I had the corn beef hash and mimosa carafe for brunch. Delish! My son had banana pancakes and it was so heavenly. Nice hipster vibe which my husband and I like. Would like to try dinner next.
Wow what a place. From service to quality of ingredients to knowledge of food and amazing cocktails..This place knocked it out of the park. I left a very satisfied person. Thanks
We just tried this restaurant for the first time and we were completely WOW'd!!! so far it has become our new favorite place!!!! Luv the atmosphere, the food was mouth-watering delicious and the cocktails were fantastic. I really really appreciated the service. The waitresses we so great explaining the dishes and just incredibly sweet!
Very attentive staff happy to pick out some favorites along with some of our menu scores and they were all scores . Hit after hit starting with that amuse booch and every vegetable we tarted in the toile of hummus the root vegetables. Enough food to feel like we were eating quite simply and casually but still with quite a bit of class.
We had a really lovely time at your restaurant. It was great to get out of Waikiki and experience the real local Hawaii. Will definitely come back as the food was to die for followed by the great service❤️❤️
No way to pick a favorite dish! Everything was great, unique and responsibly sourced...my kind of restaurant!!!
So fresh and unique! Creativity at its best! The employees are very nice and knowledgeable. I have friends that go 2 to 3 times a week. 🤙
All the food was amazing! The house drink was so good, my entire table(8 people) ordered it, and I almost stole it from some of them it was so good. I can't wait to go back.
We did the family style meal for a group of 4. Some dishes were hits, some were misses, so I would do A La Carte instead. It was recommended that as our first time there, the family style was a good introduction. I liked the croquettes, sausage and clam + the bread, and the 3 family style desserts were really good. Service was also good and food came out fast.
First and foremost, I must admit the service that I had was such an esteemed and extraordinary experience from my server, Jennifer Aki. I believe her name was. She is very knowledgeable of the menu, we had a food allergy request, and she had a book available for us to review. She really understood the importance of us. She recommended a few dishes, cocktails and dessert!
Dog friendly place, the outside patio was the perfect spot, and I would definitely recommend this place.
So we decided to come here for my (now) fiances birthday. And it was a very good choice. Our server was very nice and helped us to understand how the menu works. So we went with the Family Style. Which is all the items on the menu labeled (FS) and we added on drinks ala carte. (For those who drink alcohol, it's included in the menu) and it was a great time with a good experience with getting to try everything on the menu almost. So now we know for the next time of what we like and we will order for the next time we come here. And 10/10 will eventually come back here again. (It can be expensive lol) but I do suggest to try it out and come here and support this place!
Had a really lovely quick dinner here and it was truly delicious from start to finish! We mopped everything between the two of us. Particularly enjoyed the kind service, the kitchen cocktail (Beet juice, basil leaf, Strega, gin, lemon juice), the mapo tofu rice cakes (could be even better if made spicy, but super good textures and ginger flavor!), chicken long rice croquettes, he'e roll, and ginger rice pudding. So many more things I'd love to try next time, like their beet poke and cured fish :))
I ordered the Big 5 + fish and would happily eat this everyday if I could! It’s the kind of food I always crave — thoughtfully prepared fresh and local ingredients, each individual veg dish was impeccably seasoned. My one critique, given how amazing my meal was, is that the local i’a club sandwich seemed less impressive side by side. Still delicious though, and the drink selection was great as well!
Phenomenal small plates experience. We ordered most of the menu and enjoyed everything. The menu has no respect for ethnic boundaries between menu items which made for a fun, varied meal. Good vegetarian and surf/turf options as well.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mud Hen Water in Honolulu, Hawaii, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service provided by our server Lena was absolutely outstanding.
Lena was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to recommend various dishes based on our preferences. Her suggestions were spot-on, and we were delighted with every dish we ordered. Her genuine enthusiasm for the food made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights of our meal was the Beet Poke. This unique twist on a traditional Hawaiian dish was a revelation. The beets were perfectly marinated and tender, and the flavors melded together beautifully. It was a refreshing and innovative take on poke that left us wanting more.
Another standout dish was the Chicken Long Rice Croquettes. These crispy and flavorful croquettes were packed with tender chicken and had a delightful crunch. The accompanying sauce added a wonderful balance of tanginess and richness, making it an absolute delight to indulge in.
The tofu dish we tried was a revelation. It was prepared in a way that showcased its delicate texture and allowed the flavors to shine. The tofu was silky smooth and absorbed the savory sauce it was served in, creating a delightful combination of tastes and textures.
We also had the pleasure of trying the hand-cut pasta, which was a true work of art. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying sauce was rich and flavorful. Every bite was a taste sensation, and we couldn't help but appreciate the attention to detail that went into creating this dish.
Overall, our dining experience at Mud Hen Water was exceptional. The combination of the cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and outstanding food made it a truly memorable evening. I highly recommend Mud Hen Water to anyone looking for a unique and satisfying dining experience in Honolulu. Make sure to ask for Lena as your server - her expertise and recommendations will enhance your visit even further.
Our best meal in Oahu! Modern Hawaiian food with different menus along the day.
Great service, tasty bites. We were there for a birthday party and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. They explained all the dishes and it was a good experience to share the family menu amongst friends. I especially liked the chicken long rice croquettes and beet poke. The brownie with black sesame gelato (what a unique combo!) was also very good!
This place is great for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Lots of options for vegetarians, too. I always try to come here whenever I'm on Oahu.
