For this view the prices are reasonable. We were fans of the Shorebird Restaurant that used to be here: bbq your own cut of meat and get all the salad bar, rice, mashed potatoes and bread you could eat. The prices were lower, but the restaurant was looking older. That was two years ago. Today we see they’ve remodeled the bbq grill area and salad bar area; raised prices and changed the menu to include more a la carte choices. We came at 4:30 P.M. and were told we couldn’t order dinner til 5:00, so we asked for a table by the window ledge and ordered drinks and appetizers until we could get dinner.
What a spectacular, shaded, unobstructed view of the ocean, beach goers, sail boats and Diamond Head. All five senses are engaged with the Hawaiian music, sea breeze and bbq, and amazing colors of the ocean.
We had the Steak and Shrimp Nachos, which were superb. The shrimp was very fresh, huge and seasoned really well. Chunks of tender steak were hidden throughout the mountain of crisp flour tortilla chip strips, fresh guacamole (like 1 1/2 cups of guacamole), jack did, pico de gallo, jalapeños, Mexican cheese (either cotija or asadero, I forget, see photo), lemon wedge and a side of salsa. At the bottom was a smear of cumin-flavored black beans. Some of the best nachos I’ve ever had.
We also got the Reuben sliders, salad bar, steak and shrimp kabobs, and those were all good.
My friend said,”We should eat here every day. I could just stare at the water.”
Our server was attentive and kept the cups topped off and used dishes cleared.
We highly recommend.
I had breakfast at The Reef Bar and Market Grill, which is owned and operated by the Outrigger Reef Hotel and located right on Waikiki beach. There is plenty of seating and is wheelchair accessible/friendly; as well as child friendly. They have a great variety on the menu or you can choose the all you can eat buffet. I was happy to order the Açai bowl which was delicious.

The dinner service was wonderful, and the host was able to sit us near the water. If you sit near the grills it will definitely be hotter won’t get so much of an ocean breeze if you sit away from it. The food is excellent and there are great options for every kind of pallet. The prices are a bit steep but it’s still very good. It’s not quite the same as it was when it was the shorebird but it’s definitely still a good option for dining.
Great food, Unbelievable views, I highly recommend this spot. Staff is accommodating and friendly, food is delicious, I highly recommend the chicken strips with the house made Siracha dip.
Thanks for the food guys! See yeah in a few months!
Loved the vibe. Went during happy hour and the Mai Tai's were poppin! That Bar Bacon was also a very nice treat while we were enjoying our drinks too.
My experience is specifically for the bar. I was given immediate attention by the bartender and she was extremely welcoming and helpful. I was able to try out various beers and settled on a Mai Tai. It was absolutely worth the price. You get an amazing view of the beach and perfect seating to see the sunset. Out of all the reviews I have read your real value is grabbing a bar seat, getting a great drink and watching the sun set.
Lovely location right next to the beach . $22 fish tacos served both of us and came with delicious chips. Trevor our waiter was great !!! They don’t have barista coffee though so I wouldn’t recommend an iced coffee from there.
Great breakfast! Omelet bar was a little backed up. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict all on the line as well as cereal and fresh cut fruits. Eat what you like and look out to the pacific ocean, surfers, bikini girls and pleasure boats a few feet away.
Great views of Diamond Head by the window and relaxed bar atmosphere. Food and service were good.
We had lunch here. She enjoyed a mai tai and I sipped on a white linen-gin, cucumber concoction. Quite refreshing. The trade winds were soothingly bathing us through the large openings facing the ocean. We shared a wonderful caesar salad with blackened mahi (so good), parmesan flakes and a delightful creamy dressing. Aloha
Excellent variety of foods, excellent customer service. A very friendly staff. A beautiful view to enjoy your meal with.
Sit through a timeshare sales pitch, free buffet breakfast...ok nothing great, wouldn't be happy to spend $28 on the food, but the waterfront location was A+
We finished our last night of a 5 week adventure with an awesome night of food and great service. Table and bar service was attentive, meals were excellent. Chef helped cook a perfect steak. Price was a little on the top side however when you consider the location its worth the extra cost.Would have given 5 stars except the salad bar was a letdown. It needs some work to polish the presentation and offer more variety. Will be back.
Great food and magnificent service. Loved the buffet breakfast
We sat at the bar for a relaxing time near the beach. The bartenders are great. Drinks don't have a huge selection. But the atmosphere is very pleasant. In the evenings I highly recommend taking the option to grill your own steaks or fish. It's a fun event that you should do at least once if you like to grill out. Since you don't have a grill in the hotel it's worth the effort.
Friendly waiters & delicious mia tias with great views over Waikiki Beach.
5 out of 5 stars! I wish me and my wife would have found out about this place a lot sooner. Our last two nights of our honeymoon vacation we came here, and it was spectacular. By far the best place we had in Oahu. Very friendly staff, and 5 star service to match! The view of the ocean is absolutely breathtaking, and a very intimate/romantic environment. The manager even gave us a free appetizer, and dessert on the second night we came back. Couldn’t have asked for better quality food, and service!
