Hidden gems! Best butter fish dish with miso soup. Service down to earth. $15 -$20 for a perfect meal.

This was my third time dining here. Brought an out of town friend as I raved about the food and service. Tonight unfortunately not the best in service and it wasn't very busy. Ordered the oyako domburi for the first time and was shocked at how soupy it was. Figured I would ask for a scoop of rice because this was too much like soup. Took forever to have her come check, and when she did there was no apology about what I shared about the food. When we finished after waiting for quite some time we finally walked up to the front to pay. Not the norm in the service I've had before and I will try something different next time. Think we just got an off server today. Usually very attentive.

The food was good. I ordered the Chicken Katsu and gave it a 4 / 5 Stars just because the chicken didn't have much taste. The crispness was there but the chicken was a bit oily too. Also the waitress forgot about our party but that was ok because we got to sit in a bigger table.

I've been here before and the food was always great! Our food came fast and hot. I had the chop steak and veggies and every bite was so good! My bf had the chicken katsu he said the chicken was tender, juicy and came with katsu sauce. We tried fried ice cream and that was delicious as well. We got here around 10:30am on a Wednesday and it was good timing because the lunch people started to roll in and tables started to fill.

My favorite spot for Saimin, I like their cold noodle when it’s hot! Everything I’ve gotten here has been really good and flavorful. There can be a bit of a wait during dinner so put your name down when you arrive. The wait is worth it and food is very reasonably priced!

Had the oxtail saimin. Great portion, very tasty broth, super tender oxtail. The banana pie was awesome. Make sure to order that.

Old time eatery. Local style, aunties have worked there forever as waitresses and they know all the regulars by name and know exactly how they like things. Food is good, servers treat you like family.

Great service. Good local food. We went Sunday around 9am. No wait but soon after we got our order in, it got busy real quick. Belgian waffle combo was delicious and good size portion. Adobo fried rice omelet was generous portion. Fatty pieces of the adobo is the best. Some lean pieces in there too but overall good flavor and texture Also got a side of hollandaise sauce cuz i wanted the eggs benedict but didnt get it. I believed its served only during the weekends Prices very reasonable, cheaper than zippys. Parking at times can be challenging.

Recommended by my wife's cousins who are local. The location is spacious and lots of local families enjoying their meals. Food was great and portions are generous. Plenty of parking although you need to circle the building to park close to the door.

Tourist review: Tosay I learnes that Saimin is a Hawaiian cuisine! It's very tasty and I would describe it as a mixed of Japanese and Chinese. This is definitely where the locals eat as it was fairly packed on Tuesday at 6pm. The staff is very nice and even let me know when we forgot a phone on the chair.

Very good local joint serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. My favorite is Oxtail soup one of the best since it has a lot of meat, vegetables & long rice served with white or brown rice, konbuzuki & generous amount of fresh ginger 🫚& cilantro. This place has daily specials along with extensive regular menu. Can't go wrong on Saturday brunch prime rib & half turkey Benedict & Dinasaurs pork bone with cabbage which is huge, mindbending. The servers are friendly & efficient, too.

Old school local joint. Saimin and more. I had their wonton min which was very good. I also split their excellent chicken papaya soup with my dining companion. The flavor of the soup was reminiscent of my mom's. Based on that meal, I'm sure the other dishes are just as great. Additionally, based on our experience and observing the other customers, you were not rushed into giving up your table when the dining was done.

Awesome breakfast but even more awesome service. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. Tanaka Saimin is a must stop at least once whenever we are in town.

Great service. Had kalbi, fried noodles and salad. The kalbi is tasty and tender, not fatty. The fried noodles were delicious. Friendly, fast service.

A local favorite with lots of delicious local style food. Known for their saimin bowls and fried saimin. If you haven’t tried it, you got to give it a try. The only downside to this place is the parking. Go early or eat later than the usual lunch crowd. The staff were awesome too.

Great spot for fried, hot or cold saimin. Old school menu and atmosphere, no frills, cafe style place. Our group enjoyed the Tanaka plates with beef teriyaki, katsu and stew. Tanaka saimin, butterfish and Oxtail soup. They were out of the banana cream pie. Friendly staff!
