Visiting Hawaii for the first time; my family had a craving for Sushi, local flavour for myself. Had the chance to enjoy their take on the Loco Moco! Really enjoyed the breadcrumbs on the meat, and the sea of gravy!

My favorite japanese restaurant. Fresh, tasty sashimi my favorite. Can't go wrong with the quality and drink selection. Home-made ice cream and sumptuous oxtail soup.

Our service was very good, very help full and cheerful. Dragon roll looked like a dragon, sushi boat had very good sushi on it. Chicken katsu don was crispy on the outside, very tender on the inside. Sweet and umami flavors blended perfectly. Atmosphere was alright.

Had a wonderful dinner at this location, got the sushi boat and saba teishoku set. Prices were reasonable and staff were so friendly, easy to make reservations. Parking does fill up but recommend going early.

This was a very good find. Found out about this restaurant off Instagram. Parking was good. There is a handful of stalls in the back of the restaurant. There’s two entrances to the restaurant. One on the street side and one on the back parking side. It has a very cute and minimalist design. There is a main dining area, a bar, sushi bar and what appeared to be a separate party room. In the main dining area you have regular tables and high top tables. We were greeted by staff pretty quickly and seated with 730 pm reservations. There were still a few tables open so not the end of the world if you don’t make reservations. There was quite a bit to choose from on the menu. Once we ordered, it took approx 15 minutes for food to start coming out. In the mean time we did have some edamame to munch on. The food looked great. We had the sashimi platter and the sashimi was cut nice and thick. There was four pieces of each type and you could taste the freshness. I had the ahi belly and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. My girlfriend had the sushi roll and it did throw us off at first as we were expecting a traditional roll, however, this did not disappoint. It was really delicious and crunchy. There was some heat in this with the sriracha drizzle but nothing a little water can’t take care of. The waiters did take care of us throughout the dinner. There are also tvs all around the restaurant to occupy you. All in all, a very delicious place for dinner

Monday, dinner, 4 people, restaurant was nearly full but no wait for a table. Service was so nice and so fast I couldn't believe it. All the food was presented well and delicious. The fish and shrimp tasted fresh and clean. The oysters were creamy. Anything fried was perfectly crispy. Best miso soup of my life here and I make my own so this is very humbling! So many wonderful flavors in one sitting. Look how cute they made everything! Don't miss it.

Fresh sushi and quick attentive service. Assortment of sashimi was a good value if you like raw fish. Squid, ahi, salmon, and Hamachi. Beautiful presentation. Tempura platter had 3 pieces of shrimp and some vegetables. First time ever having strawberry on a sushi roll. Something different but not sure if I'd order that again. Wr order a pizza dish too. I really liked it. Spider roll with thin wrapper was a nice take on a roll also. Coffee jello with bailey's to finish a nice meal.

A nice little establishment that serves Japanese cuisine. Limited items on the menu but what they offer is done very well. A good selection of alcoholic beverages and sake to try also. Unlike the previous venue in Kapahulu, it now has a more bar like feel. Still a place to enjoy tasty Japanese food.

Got there just before last call after UH baseball game, service was great and food was delicious. Very tasty and fresh, tempura was battered perfectly very light and not oily. Would highly recommend this establishment for some late night dining. Last call for food on Friday and Saturday is 10:30. I sure miss the old days when you could go to a bunch of places for late night noodles and a teriyaki burger.

This is a really nice place! Sushi platters from other pics look fantastic, but I came for the mackerel (my favorite). While it's not shioyaki, the soy sauce or whatever salty sauce they provided did the trick and it was tasty, flaky, and oily just how I like it ^^ Absolutely cannot beat the price! Flight of sake also extremely good and great price! 10/10 would absolutely recommend. Take friends here! Very nice interior, clean, friendly, spacious. Like a family restaurant combined with a bar. Saw some tables that were reserved...not sure if it's necessary but heads up if you have a group or coming well after opening. Also heard they have karaoke...

Mr. Ojisan is a staple in our eating out routine. We've eaten here on the regular and just can't say enough good things about it. We've enjoyed everything on the menu that we've tried. Love the food, love the staff, love the ambiance. Sashimi is always super fresh, the rolls are fun and filling. Always makes me think of my time living in Japan. Kudos and keep it up, Mr. Ojisan!

Great food and drinks at a reasonable price, what more can you ask for? Well they also have a great service. The staff is attentive and personable. I felt like a VIP and on my first visit too. Not exactly the best for all ages but it’s possible. I’m just speaking from my experience when I had my 4yr old and wife with me. I did notice they also had private rooms as well. So if reserved then a family get together is very possible. Almost forgot to mention the sushi bar is great as well. Not your average bar, yet too good to be considered a hole in the wall. More like a diamond in the ruff. I plan to make this spot one of my regular stops.

Cool space if a little sparse inside. Still feels like it's a new restaurant figuring things out. Fish was good but not amazing. Staff was very nice.

Another great japanese restaurant for our list! Pleasant staff. The wafu steak was excellent as it was suggested by a friend. A very tiny restaurant...so definitely make reservations and careful on how many things you order... we didnt have enough table space so i had to give up my miso soup rightaway. Hence i only gave 4 stars for table size.

the wafu steak was overdone (and I’d prefer the option of a finer cut), but the mashed cauliflower and onions made it packed with flavor. can’t go wrong with the chicken katsu, and the lava cake is a great way to top it off. japanese beer for a good price too. they got good taste in music vids on the TVs
